ASAP Windows & Siding

There were positives and negatives in my experience with ASAP, but I am rating them a 1 because of the way in which they handled the negatives. They did a very large window/​sliding glass door installation in my home before I moved in. Because I was out of the country, I wasn’t able to inspect the job until after it was over. When I saw my house, it was a huge mess, with hand and foot prints all over my freshly painted walls, doors and even things like toilets. The finishing touches were AWFUL, with uneven lines of caulking so bad that it looked like my 5 year old had done the work; uneven texturing and painting where they had to do basic remodel as they took out and put in new windows; and such poorly sealed windows that during a rain storm, I woke up to water ALL OVER my floors. There were scratches and dents in the new doors and windows and a rip in one of the new screens. Some of the windows were fit so that they would not swing open for cleaning.
The salesperson/​project manager at first insisted that they were not responsible for these problems, repeating that I had a handyman in the house that could have caused the damage (or that the rain leaked in because I hadn’t locked the windows). When he realized there was no logic in any of his arguments (and after I pointed out my handyman had actually been on bedrest since ASAP had started the job), he admitted it was his crew. Despite that, I had to fight for a $ 500 compensation of what I would estimate was at least double that in damage control. Every day, I continue to find damage that I have to ask my handyman to repair, at my own cost.
In the end, the project manager said that even though all these problems were unfortunate for me, he was happy that because of the problems in my installation, he could learn more about what his crew needed to improve. In other words, although he said it quite nicely, he was totally fine with the conclusion «good for me, bad for you.» For the amount of money I spent on this job, this type of service is beyond unbelievable and unacceptable.

My windows look amazing and the workmanship was fast an professional! My windows look absolutely fantastic and are a great improvement.

Sleazy, Insulting, Complete Waste of Time
This review only reflects their sales, as I would NEVER allow a company that treated me like this to touch anything in my home.
ASAP was the fourth company I had come to my house to measure and give me an estimate. All the other companies spent about 30 minutes, measured, listened to what I wanted and gave me information followed by a quote later in the week (see SOCO and Martel for some excellent customer service). Charles, from ASAP, spent 2.5 hours in my house giving me a hard sell, insulting my intelligence in the process.
Here are the highlights since I know that no one wants to read an angry rant:
–spent about 20 minutes measuring the windows and talking to me about what I want.
–went out to his car to get a sample and then came back with a presentation that took about 75 minutes where he managed to insult every other company I had gotten quotes from (I think it’s shady business practice to even ask what the other companies quoted, much less bad mouth them). He also felt the need to bad mouth other brands and styles of windows and then ask me, like I’m an idiot, if that style of window was still an option.
–when I asked him questions about the installation and problems with egress he gave me shady, incomplete answers. He then told me incorrect information about egress (I had looked up the law earlier that day and went back to check the information after).
–he then did the hard sell on Jeld Wen wood windows. They were very nice, but I didn’t need a 45 minute demonstration on all the features. He did a demo (which I told him I had already seen at a showroom) of the heat transfer through the window during which he treated my like a child, questioning my ability to feel heat and laughing at his own jokes.
–in the end he gave me a quote, after I had told him multiple times that I was fairly confident this was out of my budget. He completely refused to quote me on anything else, including what I specifically wanted.
–he then proceeded to slowly drop the price, give me random discounts if I agreed to sign that day, offer to call his boss to get further discounts.. . etc (see used car salesman). He even told me I could do half the windows or take out a second mortgage to buy his windows.. . really? If a price is good on Friday night, it should still be good on Monday morning.
In the end, Charles left telling me that he was going to send me the quote via an email, he never did. I got the impression that if I wasn’t going to buy that night, then it was a no go for him. I was very disappointed with this experience. I felt dirty having invited someone like this into my house, like it was an invasion. He could have spent 30 minutes, actually listened to me, and saved me my entire evening.
ASAP may want to consider a new sales strategy. With the invention of the interwebs, people can do research and take time making decisions. I can’t imagine these sort of hard sales tactics working on anyone.

While we didn’t go with them when we purchased our windows, they did an amazing job explaining us their options and telling us what to look for when purchasing windows. They were by far the least pushiest of the window companies that came out, but their price was a bit too high for our needs. In addition, I tried to follow up with some questions and I never heard back from them (which was disappointing since they were #2 on our list even with the higher price) so we ended up not picking them. They lose a star for that.

If you talk with ASAP Windows & Siding, be prepared for a hard sell.
This review only reflects the process of sizing and getting a quote for work to be done. I plan to replace my whole home windows, so I call a few companies for quotes. ASAP is the first on the list.
Their representative shows up directly on time, 10:00 AM. We measure around the house, and he is giving me the sale the whole way: «Vinyl windows are bad, they don’t last long, don’t go with another company’s vinyl, ours are different» and that sort of thing. At this stage, I haven’t necessarily decided upon a window style, so I appreciate his salesman opinions.
Measuring the windows doesn’t take too long, but then we sit at my table and he spends 45+ minutes giving me the pitch. I don’t doubt that his company is different, but everyone’s company is different. Give me a few quick hitters and move on. I trust you when you say you are insured, I don’t need to see your insurance statement.
Then comes the demonstration, where he goes to the car and pulls in his mobile window to show how much better their windows are. Neat, but unnecessary, as any high quality window will perform about the same.
So he takes 5 minutes to put the windows into his computer and pulls up an estimation, «ok so when can we order the windows.» I still have 3 other highly regarded companies scheduled to come by, I’m not going to sign with your company right away. He turned very cold when he realized I wasn’t going to sign up just then, said, «if I leave you will lose this discount», and spent another 10 minutes trying to convince me to do financing through their company.
So the hard sell turned me off of ASAP. He would have saved us both a lot of time if he had taken the measurements, invited me out to show me window samples (or to their show-​room), and emailed me a quote. I don’t know if I’ll eventually choose ASAP to do my work in the end, but I know they’re already starting at the bottom of my list.

I had ASAP come to my home in June to replace all of the windows and a sliding door in my duplex. My new windows are awesome. My old windows didn’t hold in the temp of the house and you could hear everything that went on outside. Thanks to our new windows I don’t have to hear kids skateboarding down the road. I also really like that they lock automatically when you close them! I would recommend this place to anyone.
