The focus is always on close attention and understanding of the homeowners aesthetic, with a preference for natural, organic-​looking design and a plant set that is unique, hardy, streamlined and cohesive. Garden design style choices abound, we focus on unique non-​standard plants which are still drought-​tolerant and climate appropriate, using native species when possible. themes include Zen, Monochromatic, Alien looking and Ornamedible. Services include shrub and tree pruning (up to 10′), plant bed maintenance, trimming, weeding, mowing and clearing/​cleaning. Whether you just aren’t sure what to plant next to your front door, your shrubs, bushes and accent plants are taking over the walkway, you just need your yard mowed without any of your other plants being mauled, or you want one corner of your yard turned into a backyard Zen garden, Artemantis can handle all of your small-​scale residential needs.

History

Established in 2013.

Owner worked as foreman for one of the biggest commercial landscape maintenance companies in Austin for several years. Owner got tired of cookie cutter landscape design and started his own business.

Business Owner

A man of many skills, Zed has an extensive catalog of plants and design themes waiting to be put in. Before launching Artemantis he was the Foreman of a Landscape Maintenance crew for a major Landscape company in Austin. He has also been a Chef, Professional Musician, Painter, Carpenter and Loudspeaker Designer.

Having great artistic composition and placement skills combined with the ability to keep track of the many details involved in Landscape Design, He has a strong sense of what looks right and several different plant and layout styles ready to go. However, he has no problem setting aside his likes and preferences to work with someone who has detailed ideas of their own, even if it means spending the extra time to help the client in discovering how to express and explain their vision.
