Our classes cater to the individual as we design curriculum specific to your needs and preferences. Our instruction aims to enhance your abilities so you progress as we support you as an eager beginner or even a seasoned artist. We pride ourselves on being flexible and providing a healthy balance between learning and fun. The Art+Academy holds art classes for children, teens and adults. We also host a series of summer camps for teens and children!

History

Established in 2008.

The Art+Academy was launched it 2008 by the owner as a way for her to begin imparting her knowledge and experience to other aspiring artists in the Austin area.

Business Owner

I grew up in Mexico City where I showed skill in the visual arts but did not feel the need to pursue it. I earned my BA and MBA in Information Systems and successfully worked in the field for years. In 1991, I yearned for more, and enrolled myself in drawing and painting classes. Over the next 4 years, I experimented and gravitated towards realistic portraiture and human figure painting. My work attracted attention of collectors. In 2000, my family and I moved to Austin, TX, a place known for a larger artistic community. In 2002, my contemporary abstract pieces were highly accepted. My work is now widely collected in USA, Mexico, Norway, and Venezuela. Additionally, my work has been selected for publication in the «American Art Collector — Juried Competition of New Work» for three consecutive years. I then began teaching art in 2008 in order to share my knowledge and experience so I may continue to grow. Teaching has continued to fill my soul with pride and satisfaction even today
