Specialties
Art In A Nutshell specializes in entertaining people with amazing objects and artifacts known as replicas. Nothing can replace seeing the real object when your talking about roses made of rocks, or witnessing five white doves leave the inside of a sand dollar. If you are over 18 years of age, you can see an object that makes a case for Chester the Cheetah to wear more than just sunglasses and tennis shoes! For the ultimate experience, one can commission the Old Man in the Peanut to ferret out the replicas that exist in your scribbles, then framed as a piece of art ready to hang on the walls of your home.
History
Established in 2009.
A. I. A. N. is in the heart of south Austin, 78 704! In fact, the Old Man in the Peanut was discovered in 78 704 right off S. 1st. street across from Dawson Elementary school. As a master of images in patterns, the Sage of the Leguminati decide to open a repertory of replicas in his neighborhood to share these amazing artifacts.
Meet the Manager
Ismael C.
Manager
I have lived in Austin since 1993. I came from Houston to go to the University of Texas from which I graduated in 2000 with a B.F.A. I have worked at Sullivan’s Steakhouse since 1999. I carved my first peanut in 2004 and like a modern day Geppetto, it ended up being the breath of life for the Old Man in the Peanut. In 2009, he and I opened a museum to show off the amazing world of replicas known as Art In A Nutshell.
