Appliance Pros of Austin

I was refereed to Appliance Pros by a friend and I have used them two times in a year and both times, they have been very professional and courteous and prompt with their service. The first time was to remove a screw driver, our two year old daughter somehow managed to drop inside the lint screen hole of the dryer. Aaron was very professional and completed the task in about 20 minutes. Along with the screw driver, he also removed a lot of dirt etc.
The second time around was when our Microwave quit working. I called Appliance Pros and they managed to squeeze me in between Aaron’s schedule and he fixed the microwave switch in about 15 minutes. My neighbor who had a similar problem with her microwave also used them the same day. Aaron was polite and professional to oblige them and yet keep his remaining appointments. I am happy with their customer service and professionalism. I will highly recommend them.

This company is the most horrible I have ever dealt with. They were sent by my home warranty company to fix my broken cook top. They came several months ago, ordered a bunch of parts, then came back and installed them. The cooktop broke again shortly after they «repaired» it– same problem. I called the home warranty company and they sent appliance pros again. This time, I didn’t hear back from appliance pros for 2 weeks. After several phone calls I got in touch with them and they ordered every part in it except the cooktop glass. When they came to install the new parts, the co-​owner, Aaron, broke the cooktop glass at some point in the process, then left without telling me about it. When I noticed it and called, he said he didn’t break it and they would not come back and fix it. When I called the warranty company, they said that appliance pros was responsible and to file an insurance claim with appliance pros insurance company. When I tried to do that, I was told by allison, the other co-​owner of appliance pros, that it would be insurance fraud for me to do so and I would get in trouble if I called their insurance company and filed a claim. So at this point, appliance pros has been to my house 4 times, they have been paid hundreds of dollars by both me and the warranty company, my glass stove top is now completely broken and unusable, and according to appliance pros, if I try to make them fix it, I will «get in trouble,» which I assume means be prosecuted, with the insurance company and the law. I plan on filing a claim with the BBB and getting an attorney involved, which will take even more of my time, money and effort. The warranty company told me they were not going to use appliance pros anymore. Trust me– neither should you!!!
Update 6PM ²⁄₁₂: I just got a very loud and threatening phone call from Aaron, one of the owners of this company. He screamed at me for over 5 minutes. The gist of it was that this company is how he feeds his children, and if I don’t lay off and stop calling him, the warranty company, his insurance company, and stop posting information about this issue I’ll be very sorry. He explained that he knew where I lived and had done research on me and knew what I did for a living (although he was completely wrong about it) and if I didn’t drop it, he was going to get his lawyers after me and a few other ridiculous things. He got louder and more aggressive throughout the call. Called me stupid, a liar, a cheat, etc. It seemed to frustrate him even further that I wasn’t giving in to his threats. The warranty company told me earlier to expect this from them and to ignore it. They said this happens frequently with vendors that do damage and deny it and don’t want an insurance claim filed against them. Now, in addition to not being able to cook, I get to spend my Friday night telling my wife not to worry about him hurting us and the kids and notifying neighborhood security and the police of the situation. His call got as close to assault as it could get without going over the legal line. From what I can tell he seems to be pretty experienced with this type of thing. Anyway, unless you are wanting to get yourself into a stressful and potentially dangerous situation, do not ever use appliance pros!!!
Update 7:30 PM ²⁄₁₂: Two sheriff’s deputies just left my house. The warranty company suggested strongly and my wife demanded that I at least file a report of what happened. Great way to spend the first day of Valentines Day Weekend for my wife — scared for our safety because of Appliance Pros–

These guys are the bomb!
I have (had then sold) a 5 star handyman company in ATX, I used them for my own clients, but more than that we use them on our own home. I really the customer service on the phone, clear cut and easy to book and pay. Even though I’m out of the industry I still refer folks to them and use them on our place. You guys rock!

This company is terrible! We were having problems with our dishes coming out dirty from the dishwasher and our home warranty company assigned the work to Appliance Pros. It took them days to call us to schedule an appointment and almost a week later before they had any availability. When Aaron finally came I told him about the issue and told him that I had already removed and cleaned the filters and that had not solved the problem. (This by the way was already in the maintenance request that I had provided). He proceeded to take apart and break the same component that I had already cleaned. He then tells me that he doesn’t know what’s wrong and I should buy a bottle of cleaning solution and take care of it myself. He said he couldn’t solve the problem without seeing a dirty dish. I had been without a dishwasher for 2 weeks. Of course I had hand washed the dishes by now. I repeated that the dishes looked like they had coffee grounds on then. He said it must be something I was putting in the dishwasher. I assured him that I rinsed every dish before they go into the dishwasher and they come out dirtier than when they go in. He just shrugged. He never mentioned the broken part until I was watching him put everything back into the dishwasher and I asked him if it was still going to work with that plastic part broken off. He responded «I don’t know what that is.» I told him it held the rotor arm on. He tried turning the dishwasher on and it did not work of course. He didn’t have the parts to fix it and told me that he would have to order it and come back next week. Fine, but then he still charged me for the home visit. I said «I have to pay for you to tell me to fix it myself and now it doesn’t work at all?» The answer was yes. My husband called to try to figure out why we had to pay when the problem wasn’t solved. I guess they argued and now they are refusing to come back to fix the problem entirely. So we are left with a completely non-​functional dishwasher instead of just one that leaves dishes dirty.
We did end up getting a refund, although I wouldn’t describe it as happily.

My home warranty company dispatched Appliance Pros to install my replacement dishwasher because I was dissatisfied with the original service vendor’s timeliness. I had spent almost a month without a dishwasher and was about to lose my mind when HWA connected me with Aaron at Appliance Pros. Aaron had the new dishwasher properly installed just a few hours after delivery. Allison in the office was professional, courteous and empathetic to my situation.
I will recommend Appliance Pros to anyone needing service and I will definitely be requesting them by name for any future warranty repair claim.

I had an issue with my dishwasher recently — it stopped working completely. Aaron came over to fix it. He was very courteous, prompt, and charged a very fair price. Definitely one of the «good guys» in the service industry — cares about his clients and the service he provides. We’ll be using him for all our appliance needs in the future.

I had a problem with my washing machine. Aaron came in and it took him minutes to diagnose the problem. He ordered the parts and returned to fix the problem in no time at all. This guy knows his business and is a heck of a nice guy. If you call him you will not be disappointed.

Highly recommended ! Kind of a new business, so I took a chance and Appliance Pros of Austin ended up making a customer for life! My washing machine was just spinning, no water. Called Aaron, he came out when he said he would, checked out the machine, and even though it was the end of his workday, went to get the part needed, came back and fixed the washer w/​in half an hour. My family and I are so pleased, I decided I had to Unilocal for the first time!

Family owned local business — always a plus in my book. Fast response time and very professional.
Had to have the gas cooktop in my kitchen replaced and Aaron, the co-​owner, showed up to my home at the expected time and swiftly completed the task.
Would RECOMMEND for household appliance replacement and repairs. Fair prices, no hard sells, seems really honest. No extra hidden charges like many other companies.
