Apple Tree Learning Center

My 18 month old only went here for a few months. Upon going here, she started hitting & pulling hair. I thought this was just normal development. Once we finally changed to a different daycare, this stopped. When she started to potty train early (even asking to go to the bathroom), I was informed they were not properly staffed to assist her. We are also vegetarians, they stated this was no problem (yet gave her meat). The point that we finally removed her from this place was when, upon coming to the center early, they could not find my child. She was not in her classroom. She was eventually found, in a back room with a group of adults. At that point in time, I was informed that this happens regularly at the establishment (by a director who had only been there for a few weeks because not one director had stayed there for an entire month when we went there).

I would and do not recommended this place to anyone. Pam the Director is extremely rude!!! My daughter was suppose to start childcare with them and when I called to change the start date Pam stated her spot was already taken. Pam failed to mention there was a fee to hold her spot and it was never stated In the application. That part did not bother me so much it’s her remark of «well maybe your not right for this place. «When I toured the childcare Pam seemed to have no interest in kids at all. I have never written a review before but this incident called for it. She was in the wrong and not once seemed to try to be apologetic. I totally understand if there was a holding fee but not once was it mentioned. She stated I could pay the day my daughter started it was no biggie. If she’s like this to new potential customers I could only imagine how she is to the kids. Off the bat she assumed I had WIC appts to attend to so kids couldn’t come late to childcare if that was the case. My daughter does does not get WIC nor child care assistance.

My daughter has been coming to this daycare for two and a half years. I checked out several different facilities when searching for a facility, and several gave met he heebigeebies thinking about leaving my little one there. This one was refreshing. The teachers were and still are very nice, the place is clean, the younger kids (up to 1 year I believe) get a daily report card. There is an activity list on how her day goes, and her teacher always gives me a report on «she had a really good day», or rarely a not so good day.
My daughter has a peanut allergy so I am in constant freakout mode when there are special treat days, sometimes the parents bring in snacks on allotted days, but they always assure me that no peanuts will be near her before I can even speak up about it. We recently went through potty training and her teachers were very patient and motivating. She is learning a lot from Apple Tree and really enjoys the environment, we couldn’t be happier!
