Along Came A Slider is a new trailer concept designed by chefs Tyler Johnson and Jeff Schaefer specializing in gourmet sliders and hand cut fries. They take pride in using sustainable local and organic products wherever possible. All of their meats are hormone and antibiotic free and have been raised humanely in a sustainable environment.
History
Established in 2010.
Along Came A Slider is a food trailer project started by Marriott chefs Tyler Johnson and Jeff Schaefer in January of 2010. They are striving to set a new level of standards and change Austinites perception of what «trailer food» can be. Their high level of professionalism and ability to adapt to any situation has allowed them to surpass all expectations of clients. With their 26 years of combined experience they are fully capable of handling all sizes of events and all types of cuisine.

Business Owner
Chef Owner Tyler Johnson, was raised in Kansas, before moving to Austin in 1999 where he quickly fell in love with the vast variety of flavors used in the local cuisine. Johnson had always enjoyed cooking from an early age having many fond memories of cooking with his mother. He graduated from Texas Culinary Academy in 2007 and secured his role as Chef de Cuisine of the Austin Marriott South in 2009. With a focus on the highest quality ingredients, using locally grown, organic, and sustainable foods whenever possible, Johnson brings great tasting meals to the dining table. Johnson’s food can be described as «New American» as he gains culinary inspiration from the variety of cultures and cuisines that are spread across Texas and fuses them to create his superbly unique menus. It is no secret that great meals begin with the freshest ingredients and this is evident when you are served a meal at Along Came A Slider or one of their events.
