Wanting to support local businesses, I bought a set of the plain-​jane models: I think I spent like $ 450 total with delivery. Before picking this pair, I made sure to ask how old they were. I asked this question to get a feel for how old the motor, belt, other wearable parts would be. I was told the set was under 10 years old (I think the salesman said «6 years old» but it was definitely single digits: I wouldn’t have paid $ 200 for a washer or dryer over 10 years old).
Fast-​forward 9 months, and the dryer motor failed. Just looking around to price replacement parts, and after some internet research, the model number indicated my dryer was built BEFORE 1996! Wowza! That’s about a 15 year error, there…
Needless to say, the replacement motor cost almost as much I paid for the whole friggin’ dryer, so… Not going down that route.
Dunno if this normal for them, but I was definitely misled. Be sure and ask the salesman to PROVE to you how old the dryer is before. People on craigslist are more honest than this salesman.
Edit: Just pushed the dryer back from the wall to move it, found that the installer secured the exhaust vent tubing with a plastic zip tie… huh? Dryer exhaust is hot. I wouldn’t think a PLASTIC zip tie is up to code, much less that it seals worth a darn. Hose clamps are used for a reason. And they’re cheap.

I thought I was going to have to purchase a new dryer, but Alberto’s Appliances came to the rescue!
Arrived on time and charged a very fair price. Will certainly recommend and use them in the future.

Back in August I moved into a new place. We had a used drier from a family member, but were in need of a washing machine and refrigerator. However, we weren’t ready to buy something brand new.
We started with a washing machine from Alberto’s. They had so many to choose from (sets or singles) at great prices. I’d been doing a ton of searching online (craigslist, etc) and these prices were definitely better, and they guaranteed the appliances worked and they could always fix any issues we might have in the future.
So, a week later we returned for a fridge. Alberto was very helpful in trying to give us what we said we wanted and was even willing to negotiate on prices a bit. Major bonus: they delivered it to our house for free!
A few weeks later the fridge side went out. We called Alberto’s and they had someone come out to fix it. Another two weeks went by and the freezer side went out. The next day they had someone come look at it and decided to swap it out for a different (extremely similar if not a little better) refrigerator. It’s been over a month and we’ve had no problem.

This business offered a friendly service with a decent variety of options. I was in search for a washer/​dryer set. The salesman answered my questions and was not pushing to make a sale. They are very fairly priced, delievered and set up included and have a warrantee with purchases that they will repair any appliances purchased.

We shopped around a lot for a cheap fridge. We want to the Sears outlet, as well as Craigslist. But Alberto’s had the best prices by far. We got a stainless steel side by side for $ 400. They delivered and installed for free. Delivery schedule was several hours off, accounting for my missing star, but generally something I am willing to forgive given the deal. We also had a problem with the freezer about two weeks after we got it. Turned out to be something really simple, a spring that had moved turning transit. I did have to call 2x to get a service appointment, but once it was scheduled they showed up on time and were very pleasant. Fridge comes w 30 day warrantee on parts and lifetime labor, so very pleased with entire experience. Inventory varies daily, and they certainly had higher end products. Everything is refurbished as far as I know.

Meh. Trying to support a local business, but so much for good intentions. Ended up being a waste of time.
This place is way out of the way if you live in central Austin and hard to find. Google took me to the wrong place first, then once i used an old fashioned map I still drove past it twice since its off the main road, and all the neighborhood construction didn’t help.
It was smaller than I expected. DIdn’t see much exciting. Opened the door to a Bosch frontloader since I read online they were pretty good and got nearly knocked over by the smell of mold. You could actually see the spots all around the rim.
Briefly met Alberto, he seemed nice but he was busy with another customer. I was running late since it took me so long to find the place and the mold thing grossed me out, so I left. Still on a hunt for a washer. Wish ADI hadn’t closed last year. Love my pair I got from them.

Bad experience, business has good intentions.
We had the money to buy new, but decided to buy at Albertos to support local, save money, and get more bang for our buck.
We bought an $ 800 Whirlpool set that we were stoked about. The delivery truck got in an accident on the way to our house and our washer didnt even turn on when they got there. They took this set away and asked us to come pick out a new pair.
We found some LG’s that were of similar price range and they delivered those next-​day. Upon install, the dryer wasn’t putting out hot air. GREAT. They said that a technician would be back later that day to check it out. We waited for a few hours and the tech actually did get it to work by replacing the thermostat. The dryer worked for a few days but when we tried to use the «steam» option, it sounded like it was going to explode and got really hot.
They offered to swap out for yet another pair, but we have a baby on the way and don’t really have time to waste on exchanging what would have been a third combo and a 4^th visit. They agreed to refund me my money and scheduled a pick up of the washer/​dryer.
Ill say that the company did have great customer service and situations like this can happen, especially with repaired/​refurbished equipment. I think it was just a bad luck of the draw for us but I can say that they should really be testing out all the equipment thoroughly before selling it.

Your best buy isn’t there, it’s here at Alberto’s! Delivery was punctual, and they didn’t just slam the appliance in and leave, they made sure all the connections were secured and working properly. Great warranty. Currently (September 2015) a little tricky to find due to construction on Todd Lane.

Our first stop for a fridge was Best Buy. Our second stop was actually the BEST BUY — Alberto’s appliances. This place is the best! Who needs a brand new appliance when these guys make used one work so well?
Luis helped us buy a used fridge. He was very kind and helpful. Now we are buying a washer and dryer.

Got a great washer for $ 200 including delivery. They even took my old washer and hooked everything up. Very friendly and punctual. Would definitely recommend these guys! They are a little hard to find due to construction on Todd Lane, so just need to enter from St. John’s, but that was the only issue I had.

Had a great experience here! I have to agree with some previous comments that currently with the construction it was hard to find. Sort of an industrial park road, the warehouse is behind another building. I’m not gonna lie, as a young woman I was a little nervous when I pulled up there alone. My boyfriend was on the phone with me and told me to just go check it out. I’m so glad I did! He was so friendly and helpful. I told him my budget and he took me around to several options. I got a great washer/​dryer set for $ 350. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the hook up was done poorly –crossed lines caused a leak– but my handy man fixed it for me. They offer a 30 day return and service for a year. Delivery and hook up was free.

Such a great little company. We purchased from here a year ago when we moved into our new home and found that our dryer had stopped working unexpectedly. Really great prices and products to choose from, delivery was free even though we lived just outside of the 25 mi. Radius and they brought it same day. Great guys and would recommend them to anyone. Who could beat a lifetime warranty on service etc?

Recently moved into a new apartment complex in Austin which required you buy or rent your own full sized washer and dryer… After searching through rentals, which would cost $ 30 a month and an additional bill to worry about paying, I stumbled upon Alberto’s. All of the reviews were wonderful, and so was my experience!
The worst part of my buying experience was finding the place– there is construction on Todd Lane, which allows for only one direction of traffic and poorly signed businesses. I finally found the place, which is located behind Johnstone Supply.
I was immediately greeted and shown around to the appropriate washer/​dryer set I was looking for. Everyone was very helpful! I found a nice, CLEAN, set, which didnt look rundown-​they had a ton of options to choose from from higher end front loaders to top loaders– I got a GE top load washer/​dryer set. Nothing fancy but suites our needs just fine. These cost me $ 325. They offered me same day delivery and setup free of additional charges! They came at the proposed time exactly and set the appliances up right away without problems!
They also offered 30 day warranty on parts and lifetime labor warranty. So far so good! Washing my first load now! Very happy with my experience and would recommend to anyone!

These guys were prompt, friendly and honest… so affordable. My problem was fixed in no time. Would recommend them for sure. Called today, fixed today! Im back on the road to laundry heaven!

A fantastic small business. He has now moved to a new location in a warehouse. We got a great washer and dryer set for $ 300. They installed everything the same day for free.
The washer does make a strange noise and the dryer runs a little hot, but so far no problems with either and it sure beats runs to the laundry mat! Thankfully they are both warrantied with the company.

Picked up a Kenmore washer and dryer from Alberto’s Appliances for almost a ¹⁄₃ of the cost of a brand new set (to be fair, the models I picked out were about 10 years old, but they work perfectly fine). Complementary delivery was definitely a plus considering I’m in north central Austin and they are in south east Austin. Luis and Arthur were great guys to deal with. They were straightforward regarding the history and quality of the units and pricing. They also did not try to up-​sell me anything.
The only unexpected thing was their facility/​showroom is a barn behind a house in a residential neighborhood. Oh, and they don’t take credit cards so I had to make an unexpected run to the bank to get a check. Relatively minor issues, but I’m happy with my purchase and experience.

My washing machine spin cycle crapped out about 2 days after initial delivery. As advertised, I simply called and they came out the SAME day to repair it. When the Technician arrived, he couldn’t repair it on site and so they gave me a loaner while they fixed it. No extra charge of any sort.
I’ve had their appliances for more than a month and couldn’t be happier. I will definitely return and recommend.
Superb Customer Service!

We hated our washer! We had to turn the dial with a pair of pliers. It would get stuck at the rinse cycle and we would have to manually turn it back around to fill up again so we could get to the middle of the rinse cycle and it could continue. the valve got stuck and we could only wash clothes on cold. We had it up to our fill line line with this thing!!!
For Valentines day, we decided to give each other the gift of a washer that worked. Our POS washer was from Craigslist. We weren’t going through that agitation again. We didn’t want to get soaked, so we turned to Unilocal.We cycled through all the places that were already known for putting you through the wringer.
Alberto’s was in our part of town and had stain-​free reviews. We felt the Tide had changed for us. Nothing ventured, nothing Gained. We were All in. We Boldly took a spin over to Alberto’s on a Saturday morning and picked out a washer. The gentleman who helped us was kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about the inventory in every capacity. He informed us of their 30 day warranty and lifetime free labor on repairs. We felt we received a fair value and it was delivered and hooked up that afternoon. They even Wisked the old one off for us. We Cheered as we watched it fade away in the distance…
