History

Established in 2010.

AJCJazz was founded in 2010 with the vision of bringing entertaining, compelling, and highly-professional guitar performances in the small-group jazz swing genre. Since then, that vision has expanded dramatically to include many more styles, including jazz big band, blues, country, tejano, rock, Brazilian samba and bossa nova, pop, and more. Music instruction has also become integral to AJCJazz, with a small but closely-attended group of guitar students remaining a staple of the business for several years. The newest addition to AJCJazz is the introduction of Music Arranging and Composition services.

I am proud to have been serving Central Texas for the past four years, very thankful for the many fine musicians and generous clients with whom I have had the pleasure of working, and looking forward to the continued growth of the business and the music!

Meet the Business Owner

Art C.

Business Owner

Art is a Central Texas native, born in San Antonio and now a resident of San Marcos. A graduate of Texas State University, Art has worked with many musicians and bands in the Central Texas area in genres ranging from country to chamber music. His primary instruments remain acoustic and electric guitars, although he has performed on piano and keyboards, and electric and upright bass.

As an instructor, Art has worked as a TA at Texas State University, and maintains a small roster of private students. The smaller studio size allows for greater individual attention between lessons, as well as the opportunity to prepare high-quality learning aids for students, such as music snippets, videos, and electronic and print materials.
