Jon Hyatt is a licensed HVAC professional with more than 15 years of experience. In 2014, he purchased AirTech Energy Systems and has reenergized the business with a fresh commitment to exceptional service and a superior customer experience. As a native Central Texan, Jon understands the complexities of Central Texas weather and air quality and strives to help every customer select the right HVAC solution to live comfortably and efficiently all year long.

Jon is a graduate of Round Rock High School and presently lives in Cedar Park with his wife, daughter and their two dogs.

In a previous review, i made a mistake in giving a poor rating to AIRTECH. After John called me back and explain, I believe I was mistaken. I find speaking to the owner and being frank is the difference between a successful business and a so-​so business.

The new owner, Jon, has taken this company to a new level. Airtech did a service call at my house a couple of weeks and informed me of the measures I needed to take to ensure my a/​c unit lasts a long time and operates at optimum power. Not only were the gentlemen nice who came to do the work but were professional as well. I will definitely be using and referring business to airtech from this day forward. Thanks again for the great service.

Gave Jon a call, he was able to come out and diagnose my problem same day, I had gotten an estimate before but they couldn’t fix it for two weeks, Jon looked and said he could get in by Friday at that point it was Wednesday and the beginning of summer! I had a 13 month old so he knew it was a job that needed to get done sooner rather than later, the guys came out and ripped out my 17 year old AC (RIP! It had a hard life) and put in an amazing new unit, was able to get lower price than Christian bros estimate as well! Jon even called back a few times to make sure everything was running smooth! All in all 100% customer satisfaction!

Airtech does a great job of keeping this customer happy! Our downstairs AC crapped out yesterday, and I called early this morning to schedule a service call. Was told they were down a technician, but would do their best to get someone out soon. Cesar and Gatty arrived around 6 pm, and figured out that the float valve switch in the condenser pan had failed, plus the pan had clogged. They replaced the switch, re-​ran the drain tubing, and quickly had the AC running again. Total cost ran to $ 260, which I found very reasonable considering they were working after hours.

Worst Company EVER. They didn’t repair the AC the first time they came out (under AHS Warantee) and then took two weeks to get out a second time. Discovered the coil had a leak, and told me he would have to call for authorization that day (a Thursday) to do the work with AHS. The following Monday when I hadn’t heard from him, I called AHS only to find out Airtech had only THAT day called for authorization. Keep in mind my AC is out this entire time, and it’s already 95+ during the day in Austin. The following Tuesday, I call Airtech, only to be told it would be another day before they could come to my house because they don’t let their techs carry the coolant because «that stuff is expensive». So I get to suffer through YET ANOTHER NIGHT because their techs can’t be trusted?
When I asked the guy at Airtech, who I am VERY certain is the tech who has been coming to my house if this really seemed fair to him after THREE WEEKS of waiting for my AC to get fixed, he said, «Find another service company» and hung up on me.
Not only am I reporting this all to American Home Shield, which is already fed up with the situation, but I will be reporting him to BBB as well. I wouldn’t have given this company ONE star if Unilocal had left me rate without it!

So now, Airtech needs to charge everyone at least $ 110 just to diagnose the same thing that other companies send their HVAC people out to do, for way less, because they «do not go off of the assessment of a faulty A/​C unit made by another company.» This is in addition to whatever it will cost to probably be able to fix what is wrong with the system, again, something that other HVAC companies have determined to be wrong, and provided an estimate for. This is due to them needing «to standardize the way they do things.» HVAC service companies can really try to tell you anything they can to get you to feel you need their business, all kinds of lies and deceptions, eliminate truths… you name it, they probably make some serious money off the homeowner when HVAC systems with cheap parts start to fall apart one thing at a time. Beware these people, and make sure you do some research before having any of them come out to «diagnose» and «fix» anything, because they are more concerned with «standardizing» to make more money off the homeowners who don’t research their options in this HVAC industry.

If there was a ZERO star rating, I would use that. These guys have been sent to my previous house in the past by my Home warranty company, American Home Shield (more on them later), and they suck. This time, the same guy came out and was here for almost an hour when he came back in and said «this is a 2 stage system — we don’t work on these.», but it was too late in the day for me to schedule anyone else out. Really? It takes you an hour to figure out what is or isn’t in your repertoire? Then, after the guy left with zero resolution and I’m on the phone scrambling to find another, qualified company, the tech comes back in and has to look for his phone.
I have had problem after problem with these guys, to the degree that I told AHS to NEVER use them again. I am happy to recommend to these guys that they go into a different line of work.
Suck it, Airtech. And AHS, don’t worry, your review is coming.

I contacted Airtech because they had repaired our unit prior to buying our house, giving it a good inspection and saying everything was running fine. Well, it turns out everything was not fine.
Winter came along and the heat came on for 2 hours and then shut off. I contacted 4 other HVAC companies, all whom said it wasn’t working due to a vent that was placed on the unit (by Airtech) and that the unit needed to be rotated.
I then called Airtech, hoping they would be understanding and would come out to fix the unit they deemed in good working condition. They were so incredibly rude, demeaning, and sarcastic. I was shocked by the lack of customer services skills all 3 people I spoke to had.
I would definitely not recommend using Airtech. As many of the other reviewers have said, they don’t do good work and are very rude.

Had them out because our system wasn’t cooling well — something was obviously off. I called them because they were the ones who installed the HVAC system at our condo complex so I thought they would be eager to stand behind their work.
The service tech spent about 10 minutes poking around before saying everything looked fine, and I owe him $ 100. He said the freon level was good but he went ahead and did me a favor by topping it off — he added about 1oz. So $ 100 for 1oz of freon and 10 minutes of time. Yikes. I assumed it’d be covered under warranty (but they said they only do 1 year warranties on their HVAC installations) and they never mentioned any prices before slapping the bill at me.
At least two of my neighbors have had issues with their HVAC system as well that were installed by Airtech. I heard talking to one of the reps they changed ownership so maybe that’s when they went downhill trying to raise prices and cut quality to be more profitable. I’d stay away.
