How did they scam me? Let me count the ways.
I want to keep this short enough to read, but it’s hard to sum up everything they did wrong.
I went in to buy a mini-​van from them. It was a good deal. I asked if it ran well, and they said, «Yes, great.» Then they tried to start it and the battery was dead. «We’ll put in a new battery if you buy, no problem.» I don’t know why I didn’t see any flags, I’m just too trusting. They said they would do everything, but I didn’t get enough of it in writing. They were just willing to say anything to sell the car, «We’ll put on new wipers. We’ll fix the AC. We’ll vacuum it out before you pick it up.» There’s a 30 guarantee, anything goes wrong in the first 30 days and they will fix it. Any work they do on the car is guaranteed for a year. Okay, sounds good. Then the owner appealed to his good name. «This is my company, I do good work so I keep customers and get referrals and grow my business.» Etc. I bought it. Their lies and the van.
Long story short… the AC never worked. They tried fixing it a couple times, then said it wasn’t their responsibility anymore. I took it into another car place, and they said they replaced the compressor or condenser (can’t remember) without replacing the dryer receiver and expansion valve. The other car place (Excalliber Auto, love them), said they’re supposed to be replaced together. He said he can’t even get a warrantee on the compressor/​condenser unless he buys it with the other two parts. I told my dad about it, he works on cars occasionally but he’s no expert, and when I asked what he would do to replace the compressor/​condenser, he immediately said the expansion valve and dryer receiver would need to be replaced too. When I mentioned this to Accent, they claimed to have no idea what I was talking about.
They lied, ALL THE TIME. One employee came out and lied to me. When I told the manager, Eddie, what the other employee had said he first said the other employee hadn’t said that, then Eddie said he was just wrong and what Eddie was telling me was right. When I continued complaining about being lied to Eddie said, «It’s not my responsibility what my employees say.» YES, IT IS.
They didn’t have my license plate in 30 days. When I went in to ask about it they said they would just print out another temporary plate. I said I wasn’t sure if that was allowed, and they said, «Sure it is. I’ll do it right now.» I called the DMV and they said the title hadn’t been transferred; after 30 days they still hadn’t received any indication that I was the owner. They told me that was illegal and to file a complaint against Accent Auto. They said it’s illegal to print out another set of temporary plates, and I should file a complaint. When I said something to Accent Auto they freaked out and said they would have my plates tomorrow, and if I was going to complain about a one day difference that I would be overreacting. 30 days and the DMV has no record of the sale, and then they magically have my plates the very next day. Suspicious?
I got pulled over in the first month for having an inspection sticker that was expired by 5 months. I just got a warning, but I called the DMV to find out if dealerships were allowed to sell cars with expired inspection stickers. No, they are not, I should file a complaint against the dealership. When I mentioned this at Accent Auto they said they had no idea what I was talking about, and they charged me for the inspection.
Last one, I think. I took my car in within the 30 day window because it was making squealing noises. I said I thought it was a belt. They looked, said there weren’t any problems with any belts. As I was leaving the dealership my car was making the most horrific noises I’ve ever heard. It was after 5:30, I had to get home, so I told myself I would take it in first thing in the morning. The next morning the car made it less than a mile from my house before dying in the road. I had it towed to Accent Auto. They claimed no responsibility and refused to pay for the towing. A belt had snapped. Less than 24 hours after I brought it in to have the belts looked out. It sounded worse when I left. And it was totally not their fault. They were magnanimous to cover part of the repairs, but I still payed some out of pocket.
I eventually stopped taking it back, because it was literally worse every time I did, and they always ended up charging me something despite all their guarantees and promises. Shady, illegal, dishonest operation.

Great service will definitely go back. A friend recommended the place. I bought groupon the service was beyond my expectations. Will defanitly go back.
