A & D Windows

We had a couple of windows repaired about a month ago and they did a great job. We had a bit of communication confusion over the phone but everything got worked out and we’re very pleased with our experience. They did a great job calling us back and following through. Would definitely recommend these guys!

After a less than 1 minute phone conversation I felt blown off. I need a simple, yet annoying, repair to multiple (at least 6) windows. The balancers, easy explanation– springs that help the window remain level when you lift/​lower them, have a piece broken on them that holds them in place. Understandably balancers, like windows, come in multiple sizes. I was quoted $ 75 — $ 90 per window because (and this was said in an annoyed, condescending tone) «We’d have to come out, figure out how many, measure for the right size, then go get them, and then install them.» Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s the job. I have spoken with 3 other companies who gave a base rate for labor of $ 130-​$ 185 and then parts for each balance which is $ 15 for an entire balance, not just parts which is all I need, from Home D and less if you purchase in bulk like the other repair companies I spoke too. Short of the long, the representative I spoke to from A & D Window did not seem interested in my repair job because it was inconsequential and not worth their time and effort.

I had a leaky window and was almost certain I would need a replacement since the house is 35 years old. Mike from A&D came out and suggested that I do a heavy caulk job on the outside to see if that would resolve the problem before I went to the expense of a replacement. Next hard rain I still had a leak. They came out again and realized that the weep holes were plugged and showed me how to fix it.
I’ll only know if it works the next time it rains but I appreciate their honesty and helpful advice. They could have easily sold me a window.
Highly recommend this business for their honesty, timeliness and helpfulness. If it turns out I do need a new window, A&D will be the ones I call.

Great news? On time service, friendly, attention to detail, doggie friendly, sparkly-​clean windows!
Bad news? Many birds have died recently because A&D did such a flawless job.

I have used A and D Windows for a long time now (3+ years?). I’m always so excited when I know they are coming, because my windows almost sparkle when they’re done! Not kidding! I don’t know how they do it, but I’m impressed. I usually have them out 2 or 3 times a year.
I don’t know about y’all, but I find that living in Austin comes with some serious spider action and their accompanying webworks. A and D cleans my screens and all the window tracks so they look amazing (and not scary or dangerous). I also pay them to clean up and wipe the spider webs from the outside of my house around my front and back doors and to clean the spiderwebs from the light fixture hanging outside my front door. So great!
I have a wonderful housekeeper who helps me with my windows on the inside, so sometimes I just have A and D come to do the outside. So happy to have them climb up tall ladders to the second story and crawl behind bushes!
Their workers are professional and respectful and fast. And you barely know they’re there.
They get busy, especially around the holidays. So don’t call at the last minute and expect them to be able to show up the next day. That being said, they have worked me in when other folks have cancelled or they finish a job early.
I like these guys. I think they do a great job, and I think their prices are reasonable too. I’d give ‘em a try, if I were you.

A & D Windows did a great job. They sent someone right out to give me an estimate. During the estimate the workman damaged a set of blinds but when discovered the company agreed to pay for damages right away. They ordered the parts and came out about 2 weeks later to repair the windows. Was very courteous and made sure all the windows worked up to my standards before he left. I recommend A & D Windows because they stand behind their work and workmanship.
