History
Established in 2015.
416 Bar & Grille is a family-owned-and-operated neighborhood bar & grill helmed by father and son, John and Colin Jurey. We serve Americana food with a focus on local and sustainable chef– driven cuisine that explores the diverse culinary styles of America. The name – 416 Bar & Grille – harkens back to the 1970s when owner John Jurey was working as a messenger in San Francisco. 416 was his call number and to this day it has the power to capture his attention like nothing else.
Meet the Business Owner
John J.
Business Owner
It all started back in 1970’s San Francisco when owner, John Jurey, worked as a full service messenger. His call number was 416. To this day he answers to it as if it were his own name. That was a magical time in San Francisco: living to the pulse of the city, screaming down streets & alleyways, and meeting up with friends at all hours. John opened one of the first food trucks in the bay area in 1975 serving freshly prepared food to the people on the San Francisco streets. John continued his culinary journey when he opened a restaurant in St. Augustine, FL, where his son Colin got his first taste of restaurant life. After selling the restaurant in Florida, John attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. From there he went on to work for Whole Foods Market locations in every corner of the country, from DC to Hollywood.
