I was first hesitant when my friends invited me here. But I was a bit surprised about the place and the food presentation. It’s nice. The food is great!

The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. I ordered the tostones con bistec as an appetizer and the roasted pork as my meal. Both were excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try their more signature dishes! I also love the mix of music that was played. I went on a Friday night and the DJs there were mixing it up really well and having a lot of fun! I will definitely return!

I Ordered the oxtails. A little disappointed that it doesn’t come with a vegetable. However, the food is good and the staff is friendly. The grilled chicken kids meal was very good. Plenty of food. The Peruvian charcoal chicken was priced right, although delicious, it lacks the flavor burst I as expecting. The jerk wings were a little on the fatty side and lacked spice/heat. They should consider creating a jerk wing dinner. But overall, we enjoyed the food and the experience.

We were in the area and wanted to try something different. The place was completely empty but decided to give it a try. The server was nice but took forever to bring the drinks(mind u again in an empty place) I ordered Coke and it was stale, had to order another one. My husband ordered lemonade and he liked it. Also the place was really cold. No heat whatsoever. So if you come bring your jacket. The food took about 20 minutes to be ready. My husband order the Peruvian chicken which he really enjoyed(reason why is 3 stars) I had the mofongo with chicken, it was good, just a little salty. Overall experience was ok place to eat.

My wife and I went to this restaurant looking for something different. We walked in and the place was empty and freezing cold. We both ordered the half Peruvian chicken and an appetizer. Not 5 minutes after we ordered the waitress came back and told us they«only have one half chicken.» Not sure how this is possible when you advertise this as a special on your menu? Mind you, the manager did not come out to apologize but sent the waitress to offer to serve us 2 quarter chickens. We left and if this is representative of the restaurant we will not be back.

I was looking for some Caribbean food and found this little place tucked in the corner. What a find! Authentic good, great service and familial vibe. A very nice place and just what I was looking for. I think about popping in all the time. I have taken my family back so it is now mother approved.

Was in the area and decided to stop in for a late lunch. The restaurant says it Caribbean but has a mix of Spanish, Peruvian, and Jamaican dishes. Had the Conch Fritters which would have been really good if they weren’t deep fried too long. Came out almost black. The filling was really good so a shame the outside was almost burnt. Ordered the oxtail and the Peruvian charcoal chicken as well. The oxtail looked interesting as it is Braised in Guinness however there was more of sweet taste than a Jamaican flavor. Expected a little bit of heat but tasted like they put a lot of vinegar in the sauce. The Peruvian chicken was good. Perfectly cooked and the skin(the best part) had a subtle but flavorful charcoal taste. Definitely the best part of the meal. They have a full service bar and the ambiance is nice more Hispanic than Caribbean . Jamie was a great waitress. Always had a smile on her face and was very attentive. Only 3 stars because although a nice clean place to eat. The food was just normal no «Foodgasm»

I had such high hopes for this place. I ordered my food to go and they disappointed me with the oxtails and Conch fritters. I gave two stars because the young lady that was working there she work five different jobs during the 35 minutes I was there waiting on my food. Otherwise I would’ve given them 1 star. She worked 1. Hostess 2. Waitress 3. Washed dishes 4. Bar tender 5. Prep the to go order The oxtails fell off the bone but missing some flavors and it had a lot of fat on it. For $ 16.99 I was only served oxtails and either yellow or white rice(Where’s the peas and rice!!) not to mention plantains are standard for Carribean food. Where’s the vegetable!(Cabbage, green vegitable something) The yellow race had no flavor(it’s white rice with yellow food coloring). The conch fritters tasted like uncooked dough and hot sauce. I mistakenly ordered two of these orders. I most certainly will not be returning.

Hubby and I were craving authentic Caribbean food so we decided to check this place out — based on Unilocal’s review. WOW! So glad we did!!! So authentic and delicious! We both ordered the Peruvian chicken, rice and plantains. Holy Smokes was it good!!! Our 9 year old ordered shrimp quesadillas and raved about them(and she’s a hard one to please). The service was good. The food was amazing! Highly recommended, and will definitely go back. Enjoy! :)

I consider my self spoiled when it comes to Caribbean food. I had high hopes for Caribbean connection… they just missed the mark. Opened the menu and it is as they claim… a mish mosh of Caribbean and Latin inspired dishes from a variety of Caribbean regions like Bahamas, Jamaica, Cuba, Peru, Mexico… For lunch We ordered the conch fritters, empanadas, Peruvian chicken with yellow rice and black beans and the mahi tacos with yuca fritas… There was one waitress for the restaurant and while the restaurant wasn’t packed, she still played the roll of hostess, waitress, runner and bartender… Looked like there were two cooks… we waited a good 20 minutes for our appetizers, once arrived I was please that the conch fritters were yummy along with their creamy dipping sauce! The chicken empanadas were seemingly handmade but lacked filling, the crunch was good the flavor was good just needed more filling to be truly enjoyable. The Peruvian chicken quarter was a little dry and lacks the flavor explosion I was expecting. The yellow rice wasn’t tasty at all it just tastes like regular rice that happened to be yellow… the black beans tasted like they were heated up out of a goya can with no added flavors… so my entire meal was pretty blah and bland. The mahi tacos were a win! The yucca fries were very crispy and tasty… Being Caribbean myself and having eaten some amazing Caribbean and Latin food I can’t say I’ll be back here, unless I have a major craving for conch fritters and yucca fries… My search continues for the ultimate caribo/Latin restaurant…

The food was excellent, I had the Mofongo de Yuca and it was delicious. They are open for lunch and dinner. I would recommend to improve a bit on customer service, but everything else was great. I will definitely be back to try the Mofongo de Platanos y Ropa Vieja.

Visited this restaurant today for the first time to pick up dinner. I give this place a solid 3 stars. The restaurant is very nice and spacious and they have a nice bar and patio also. After looking at the menu I decided on the chicken with red beans and salad. I loved the fresh salad and the chicken was good but not off the chain good. I did not like the beans they were very bland. Would I come back again? Yes I would. I want to dine in next time and try the drinks at the bar.

Like a teenager hanging on the open refrigerator door, I’m often complaining that there’s nothing good to eat. My neighborhood doesn’t seem to attract the best restaurants and we often drive to other areas for dinner. So I was surprised to find this place so close to home. Everything was great. Lots of food and good pricing. Peruvian charcoal chicken, empanadas, ropa vieja, sweet plantains … I’m stuffed but don’t have that feeling you get when eating food that’s mass produced and/or processed. It’s like the feeling you’d get after eating your mom’s food if your mom was Cuban or Jamaican. Since mine’s not, I’ll gladly be eating here.

This place definitely went through some new-restaurant blues. I ate here a few times, and they seem to improve slowly every time I go. So hopefully they’re figuring things out and will become a nice place to eat in the Austell area. I came here like the first week or 2 it opened, and it was a disaster. Their Mofongo was rock hard – literally. I think my tooth almost broke. It also needed more garlic flavor. The other times, the Mofongo softened up. But I still needed a bit more garlic flavor. The Coconut Shrimp is overpriced. The shrimp was basic, and you only get like 5 piddling pieces. The flavor of the sauce was okay though. I did like the coconut flavor of the shrimp too. Their oxtail was bland. It was suppose to be simmered in Guinness, have spices and all that. Nope, it tasted bland. When I get oxtail, I expect something comforting. It didn’t really feel anything since it was bland. Their Charcoal Chicken, which everyone goes nuts for, is decent chicken. They cook the chicken well. The meat fall off the bone. It also has nice flavor. I like it. It’s definitely their best dish. I mean it’s not the best chicken in Atlanta like every reviewer make it sound like it is. Heck, it’s not even the best chicken in Cobb County, but it’s good chicken. On certain Saturdays, they roast a whole pig. They don’t bury it in the ground, but they have some sort of contraption to do it in. I haven’t tasted it, but it sounds promising. I’ll probably check it out. The owner is a super nice lady. And the rest of her staff seems nice. The service is a bit slow though. They have a huge space, but they never seem to be busy. I hope they can survive. The first few weeks, it was a 2-star restaurant. Because they’re improving, I’ll increase the stars to 3.

Wow! There is so much to like about this spot, where do I start. 1) The flavor and seasoning in everything is great. 2) Portions are large and you will leave full 3) the prices and very reasonable($ 8-$ 12pp) and 4) Food comes out fast and staff is super friendly. We had the Beef Empanadas for an appetizer. You get 2 and they are a nice size and easily sharable. The sauce that it comes with is mild, kinda sweet, and smoky. For entrees we had the Peruvian chicken and the roasted«Passion» pork. Both were moist and full of flavor. Hands down, The best grilled chicken I have in the US. I think a guava bbq sauce would pair nicely with the smokiness of the pork. But i happily ate it without any sauce. The black beans and yellow are also nicely seasoned. This place is kind of like eating at your Dominican relatives house. We will definitly be back again and again…

Great Caribbean spot, the purevian charcoal chicken was yummy! I tried the alligator tail also which was hot and fresh like everything else I ordered… I really hope this place does well in its poor location… The staff is very friendly and the chef/owner will likely come check and make sure everything was to your satisfaction! I’ll will certainly be back for more!
