My wife bought us tickets to this event for my birthday and we arrived about 45 minutes early after trying to find the place at first. There was a small pickup truck with a skeleton on the street and we knew we were in the area but unless you look hard, it really was not easy to determine where the entrance was. Aside from that, the staff was extremely friendly and happy to have us jump in early and get us set up with our VIP passes. There was a pretty good overview of what to expect and how the equipment was used. The haunted house layout was the same except that it was filled with zombies charging at you. The gun was easy to use and the staff reloaded the magazine for you and ensured it worked for you. What a hugely fun experience! I love the stats board and opportunity to see how accurate you were and how many shots you took. I cannot wait to get back and do it again!

I bought a VIP Groupon deal for 2. My bf and son went in as both are big on things like this. They had a great time, they were scared a few times, but overall want to do this again! 3 stars is because they didn’t get everything the vip groupon voucher said they’d get.

Just got home from saving the world from the zombie apocalypse and I had to write this review. I have to admit that when I purchased tickets for this I expected it to be lame and kind of boring. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. I had a GREAT time and am looking forward to going back when they do it again in August. Believe it or not, I actually felt like I was trying to save the world – and myself – from zombies. Great job to everyone including the most welcoming staff who I have encountered in some time. I HIGHLY recommend it. It is amazing! You will definitely not be disappointed. Good luck!

Wow! The awesome Facebook reviews were right on! The most adrenaline experience I have had in years. They give you a replica military style M16 weapon with laser sight to exterminate as many zombies as you can though out the entire haunted building. Like actually being in «The Walking Dead» or a live video game. We replayed a few times for only $ 10. I won a free ticket for having the most zombie kills in our group. With your free ICOMBAT card, you get all of your scores and stats instantly on site and via email and the internet when you get home. I leveled up to 6 stars after the first night and they said we could get a weapon upgrade after level 10 for next time we come. Going to have bachelor party here in July. Recommend this event highly for a great time with friends!

I used a Groupon and took my brother for his birthday. What a great time! It was a pretty simple process to get started. You swipe a card that your issued and create your own profile. This will be used later to tally up your score as well as getting an email later with your complete stats and everyone elses. They give a quick zombie speech explaining how to kill zombies, where to reload then issued your gun and in you go! I would highly recommend trying this!

One word. Unbelievable!!! I’ve been to several haunted houses around Chicago and KC: Statesville, Fear City, The Beast, The Edge of Hell, and this is hands down the best Haunted House that I’ve ever been to. The entire experience is unique unto itself. First the place is entirely unassuming. It’s in a dank back alley under a resturant in some small town that you’ve never heard of. You go behind the building and enter a busted ass door and get a sense that you’ve wasted your time and money prepaying for your time slot. YOUWEREWRONG! In the lobby you are greeted by a polite staff who shows you how to login and sign the waiver. The décor is ok in the lobby, a few zombie props but certainly nothing like Statesville’s waiting queue(if you’ve been there, you know exactly what I mean) but the free to play House of the Dead and looping customized Walking Dead video was a nice touch. Now I went with my girlfriend and we did get the groupon deal but let me tell you, this experience is 100% worth full price and I’ll share more about what I paid in a bit. Back to the lobby. So my girlfriend and I login, sign the waiver and patiently wait our turn. After a few minutes a staff member perfectly characterized as a military assault soldier comes out and walks the group through the rules and code of conduct of the house. He’s in full character and refuses to break character at any time. This goes for all of the staff. They all sink into character and do a great job not breaking. My GF and I are given a red ticket and when the last two digits are called we are escorted into a staging area. At this point we are outfitted with weapons and a sash that registers if a we get bit. This is how the game works: while in the haunted house, zombie actors will assault guests from all angles and as a surviver your job is to move through the haunted house without getting bit and kill as many zombies as possible. At the beginning you are given 150 bullets and told that there are 250 zombies in the haunted house, so obviously you have to work together if you want to survive. Your sash registers a bite any time an actor gets within 3 feet of you, although I feel that they not only need to be within 3 feet but they also need to be «killed» within a few seconds as many zombies did get close to me but I was able to dispatch them before they were able to grab me(which they won’t, these are professionals in a haunted house). So we enter the house and within 10 seconds we are attacked by a zombie. I raise my assault rifle(a mix between an Uzi and an AK47 with quite a bit of weight to it) and aim for his head. Pulling the trigger my rifle actually kicks back. The actor’s headband begins to frantically light up and the actor, seeing this, falls immediately to the floor. He knows that he is dead and waits patiently for us while we clear the room. Or at least he would have if it wasn’t for another actor who came up from our 6. He runs at full speed and surprises us both. Lights are flashing everywhere and this actor appears as a force of nature. Now my gf has gone through Statesville with me two times and had handled herself admirably both times, however at this time, in this moment, she completely broke down in terror. Her arm seized up and she clutched her rifle to her chest and refused to move. Honestly, I don’t blame her. The entire experience was unlike anything that I could have predicted and we were only in the first 25 feet. At this point I knew instantly that she could not go further. I, as a boyfriend who would actually wanted to stay in the relationship, escorted her carefully back to the entrance and dropped her off with the staff. Now you might be thinking, «Hey Alex, isn’t it the gentlemanly thing to just out right leave the haunted house with your girlfriend and calm her down by showing your love and support?» Bump that!!! I needed to finish this fight and come hell or high water I needed to see what was in store. After dropping her off I pressed on by myself. Now I’ve never been in a haunted house by myself. In fact the entire idea is daunting. Going it alone I mean but there I was, starting from square one by myself, 148 bullets left and the promise of 250 zombies to come. Me? Worried? Certainly not. Going through was an absolute joy! I immediately slipped into the roll of staunch surviver. Moving in and out of cover. Exposing myself only when killing a zombie or pressing on. Actors were top notch. Although I believe there were maybe 20 – 30 total actors within the haunt they made it seem that there were hundreds of zombies coming at you. They came from every angle. Well timed and choreographed. Multiple scares. Coming from hiding spots, under benches, through drop down walls. No where was safe! Apparently I just reached my max characters for this review. In short, I 100% endorse this haunt. It’s first class all the way, a must see for any true horror fan!

A group of my friends got the groupon for this and it was so much fun and really well done! It was an experience I never had before and I would definitely go again to up my score. I would not recommend this for the faint of heart though. It really feels like you’re in the middle of a zombie movie. Your adrenaline will be pumping as it feels very real and scary!

Came here with a Groupon for four tickets and paid just $ 25! Considering that each person pays $ 30 normally, it was a great price! The warehouse is located about an hour from Chicago but the drive is well worth it! There is a lot of referee parking in the area and some public parking for about $ 4 closer by. I had a reservation for 8pm and there was already quite a crowd when we arrived. With our Groupon we got VIP bands which gave us locker access to lock up our things as well as extra ammo halfway through the warehouse. Registration and signing up for a username were both quick and easy. However the wait to get in was very long. We didn’t end up going in until about 10 pm. We went and got some food around the corner at a pizza place(Doughballs, yummy) and that helped to pass some of the time. Finally the moment came to enter: we were given our weapons, flashlights, and told that there were 300 zombies inside for us to kill. I was terrified at this point, but was confident that my companions would keep me safe. It was beyond fun going through the pitch blackness and shooting zombies that popped up around corners or even came running up from behind. Highly recommend!!! If you love laser tag, this is a must! Took off a star for the long wait and because I wish it lasted longer once we were inside.

I really thought this would be a cheesy«shoot a bunch props with one or two zombie actors with some black paint rubbed on their face.» This was not the case. The atmosphere was straight out of a movie. The actors from the sgt to the zoms were top notch. I had a blast and will be returning!
