Zerry’s Clothier & Rentals

The experience I had with zerry’s was absolutely terrible. I went to zerry about 10 months before my wedding to rent tuxes for that. The wedding was June 2015. After meeting with zerry a few times over the next few months we finalized the details for the order. When the date drew closer I continually called zerry on his cell and at the store to make sure everything was on track, tuxes were ordered, and necessary deposits were made. I never was able to speak to him when I called, leaving voicemails and messages with his associate Michael that would go unanswered for days to weeks at a time. I would be forced to go into the store in order to speak with zerry, who is only there half the time.
I confirm a date to come in with my groomsman to pick up the order and try things on, a date and time zerry chose. The date was 5 days before the wedding since the wedding was out of town. On the way to the store zerry calls me and says the tuxes aren’t there and would be delivered on the afternoon truck. We kill some time and arrive 2 hours later as he requested only to find him nowhere to be found, no call, no update. His associate Michael says they won’t arrive until the next morning and to come at 10am when the store opens.
The next morning we all arrive at 10 to find the store locked and no one to be found. No calls or updates from zerry. I called multiple times with no response. We are standing outside his store for 2 hours when finally security and an employee of a near by store come by and call the management company for the mall, who calls zerry and leaves a voice mail. Finally at about 1230 I get a text, not a call, from zerry saying he is driving to co springs to pick up the tuxes and won’t be back until about 2pm (I was supposed to have left for the wedding venue the day before).
When zerry finally arrives I confront him about the situation and he blames UPS fully. Then the vests for the groomsman were the wrong color, he says they will be overnighted to my venue… they don’t arrive. They finally make it the day before via UPS. I had to argue with him about the already agreed upon price, some of my groomsman were over charged and had to get refunds. Needless to say working with zerry was a nightmare.
He did comp one of my 2 items that I rented, but honestly he should have done a lot more. I have never dealt with someone more unprofessional. We almost didn’t have complete tuxes on the wedding day. I would rate zerrys 0 stars if Unilocal allowed. I hate to write a review like this for a small business and zerry seems like a nice guy in person, but he does not know how to run a business and does not provide good customer service. If you don’t want your tuxedos to be one of the biggest stresses of the wedding (and it shouldn’t be) then I recommend going somewhere else.

UPDATE: We came to the store yesterday to pickup our order for wedding suits we placed 3 months ago and there is a closed sign on the door. We arranged this pickup time and day with Michael on Thursday of the prior week. We called multiple times with no answer. Left multiple voicemails and haven’t heard anything. We contacted the management office at Southland’s and they said they’ve heard this complaint against zerrys multiple times and that the closed sign had been up since Friday! having a panic attack, I called another Jim’s formalwear store (in Limon, co where we’re originally from) and they informed me Zerry’s only ordered 2 of the 5 suits we ordered (not to mention he ordered the wrong colors) and they got shipped back to Jim’s Formal Wear because Zerry’s was closed. We’ve disputed the charge with our banks as fraudulent and have re ordered our suits through another Jim’s formal wear distributor. Zerry’s has cost us hundreds of dollars in time from taking off work to deal with this! He’s unresponsive and unprofessional. I’m extremely disappointed. If you want your suits on time for your wedding, and you want the right colors, take your business else where!
