Tru-Fit

This gym is great! It’s not super fancy but it’s reasonably priced and they have everything you would need. They did tell me of the $ 49 maintenance fee I would be charged 90 days after my enrollment. The only thing I don’t like about it is the weight area is pretty cramped. There aren’t alot of meatheads there and it doesn’t feel like a meat market like 24 Hrs. I plan on keeping my membership past the year requirement.

I’ve had my membership with trufit for about 7 months now. When I first for the membership the gym was brand new. So everything was great!
They have a variety of classes from cycling to Yoga to Zumba. My all time favorite was the barre class with Micky (sadly she left about 2 months ago). She was a great instructor and I loved her classes. They didn’t have barre for a while after she left. They recently just got barre back (I haven’t tried it yet).
Zumba with Ally is a lot of fun if you are into Zumba. She really fun and she has a great routine down.
I just started going back to the gym recently and I noticed that the treadmills are starting to rust so it’s making a noise when you’re running on them which is very annoying. Other than that everything else seems fine. The gym is pretty spacious and has s ton of equipment! Definitely not like 24 hour fitness but it will do for a neighborhood gym. The only thing I would wish they had was more room to have more times for the fitness classes.

I love this gym and I have probably had thirty gym memberships in my life. Granted, the leg equipment could be better and there is often a group of confused high school aged boys using every single dumbbell, it covers the basics. Lots of cardio equipment, adequate free weights, cable machines and machines. It’s always clean, rarely crowded and the equipment isn’t always broken like at every 24hr I have ever been to. I have literally NEVER had a single person approach me about training and my membership had never changed so I am not sure what issues others have dealt with.
Pros-​Big clean locker rooms with saunas, decent equipment, clean.
Cons– they could use more leg equipment and racks for the cable attachments.

I love this gym, its super close to my house and right next door to my work, making this super convenient for me. It is also super clean and the staff is really friendly. I had lost my card to check in awhile back and they were super cool and gave me a new one immediately. The only issue I would have would be the kids club hours, wish It was open earlier and closed later so you could have more time to workout. Other than that this gym is awesome and you should definitely come join.

I hate this gym with a passion! They take money out of my account multiple times a month leaving me broke. There is never a manager there, or so they claim, whenever you want to discuss your account. If you like be get your money stolen or never want to talk to manager then sign up but I don’t recommend this gym to my worst enemy.

A great gym for the area.
I joined this gym with my husband in January (yay New Year’s Resolutions). It is a basic gym… lots of cardio equipment, weights, etc. They have 3 types of classes that are included with your membership… cardio classes, yoga and cycling… and within those 3 rooms, there are different types of workouts offered. Specialty classes (boot camp, a treadmill workout group and TRX classes) are extra.
We signed up for a couple’s basic membership…$ 44 a month for a year. You are on the hook for a year whether you attend or not and after the year is up, you move to month-​to-​month and you can cancel when you like. Much better than those other clubs where you must keep your membership if you live with 50 miles of a club, no exceptions.
The gym is reflective of the area… different ages, body types, genders and skin colors. I haven’t found anyone there to be «high pressure» as others have claimed… then again, I actually READ what I am signing and don’t sign up for things without asking questions first. There aren’t 20 different types of memberships so I’m not sure what gym the reviewers are talking about. Single, couple, family, premium membership or not, daycare or not. That’s it. I signed up for our membership on line and took the confirmation into the facility.
I feel no pressure when I walk into the gym other than to get a good workout in. I see lots of parents bringing their kids to the daycare facility (which costs extra), though I haven’t had to use it myself.
I liked that we got a personal training session with every membership because it helped me get a good understanding of the equipment and facility as well as having a weigh in and body fat analysis (also included) so I could have a good starting point in which to monitor my progress.
This gym doesn’t have a pool and it’s not fancy. It’s a large, clean, friendly place to get a workout in within 5 minutes from my house and since it doesn’t have a pool, smoothie bar or store, it doesn’t cost as much as other gyms. For my husband and I, going to the gym has to be convenient and easy and driving more than 20 minutes to go to the gym would allow us to make excuses.

This place is AWESOME! I read bad reviews about Tru Fit so I never went by the Southlands location to check it out until last week. The reviews are completely wrong. Tru Fit –Southlands is so clean, has an amazing staff, lots of cardio machines, a Yoga room strictly for Yoga that is sound proof, and so much more. The membership is cheap. For two of us it’s $ 48 a month. And YES they have a $ 49 Annual fee which they make sure you know about, but it’s well worth it! Please go see this place! I love it!

The salesperson who dealt with our family told us we can bring in all of our family. Now everyone can work out except me because of some stupid details that, naturally, nobody on staff told us. Now I sat down with the assistant manager and told her I couldn’t afford a lavishly priced membership since I was interested in paying for my own membership so I can work out with my family, and hopefully there was some basic package she could set me up with, and there was «nothing she could do.» She even recommended me going to planet fitness on Mississippi if I’m looking for a «cheap gym.» So guess what! I’m a member at planet fitness and it’s great!

I contacted this gym, by email, shortly after they opened. I got a brief email back, not answering my questions but urging me to come in. I responded and never got a response back. Having a gym so close to home was my main focus which clearly clouded my judgment. I called the facility about a week later and spoke with Deedee, she too urged me to come in after providing membership fee info. I finally made a trip in, signed up with a man that failed to disclose all information. Deedee did tell me about the annual fee however, my fee WAS NOT 90 days later it was much sooner. I asked specifically if I chose to add my daughter onto my membership later would I be able to do so. He reassured that would be fine. Interestingly, I attempted to add my daughter two weeks later to be told I only had 3 days to add her after signing up. Nice! Since I couldn’t alter my membership, I would have to get her under her own membership for a fee higher than mine. No thank you. I signed my youngest up for kids club a month and one day later which created 2 separate billing dates. Even better! They failed to mention that too. I’ve had multiple billing issues since December 2014, incorrectly charged, took 5 days to get in touch with their manager for a credit back. 17 days later, I’m still waiting for that credit. Nice place for cardio and weights, nothing fancy but the customer service and offsite billing will have you running. Can’t wait for my contract to end.

I joined this gym since I live in the area and needed something super close and convenient. If you just need a gym for cardio and weights no frills this may work for you. Some of their classes are ok. They need a better range of them and more time options. You can do HIIT or crossfit classes for an additional fee ON TOP of your membership fee, which just about doubles it.
They did get us on the Club Enhancement Fee ($ 98) that I had no idea about, 90 days after signup. I even asked if there would be additional fees after paying first, last month and annual fees to join. Of course my sales rep said no. I tried to fight it to no avail. They wouldn’t budge. That still doesn’t sit well with me.
After my contracted year is up, I’ll probably cancel my membership, buy an elliptical and join one of these cool crossfit places popping up around here. I’ll get more out of that.

Try out the free pass and form your own opinion, but the salesperson I spoke to obviously has no moral fiber, and no problem lying. Hopefully the rest of the staff doesn’t follow his example.

DO NOT JOIN this place is total BS and so is their terms. Not only will they consistently tell you a different price and their numbers never add up but once you join and sign the contract what they don’t tell you is that 90 days after you start every person on the membership will be charged a club enhancement fee CEF of $ 49. Yes it’s written in the contract but they do not tell you and who reads all those pages… ME THATS WHO! Also it’s high pressure sales. I think I’ll keep my 24hr

This is a great gym. Tried out a yoga class the other day, and loved it. They have 3 group exercise rooms, including one dedicated to yoga and one dedicated to spinning. Plus a dedicated pilates reformer room. The locker rooms are really nice, and there’s a sauna in each one… love that. Much bigger space inside than you would think.

After speaking nunerous times with the location and manager I am unable to obtain any information about the gym or membership prices… they won’t speak with me about anything since I told them that I was not interested in training packages. I will not be going to this gym.
