We bought a new Hyundai Sonata from Shortline, and purchased the additional Clear Bra for the car. Due to timing, we were told we would have to come back to have it applied, but could get a loaner car while the work was being done. When my wife took the car back, the service department was apparently not aware of the plan, and treated her like it was a huge imposition to get a loaner car. When she finally did get the car, it reeked of smoke.
Hard to get excited to go back to a place if they do not want to work with you!

This review is focused solely on the service department not sales. I got an amazing and simple sales experience from the dealership. I go in for a scheduled appointment for my vehicles first oil change, was directed to go to the «express lube» location across from their main service area and was told I would have to wait for an hour before the service could be accomplished… Really… The appointment was scheduled for three months with regular reminders of the appointment.
When I confronted them with my disappointment, I was told that my expectations weren’t realistic and that I would have to wait. Service delivery is secondary to the car maintenance and I will be changing my Subaru warranty and scheduled maintenance to another dealership’s service department…

We bought our 2014 Hyundai Sonata from the «Car Lady» here close to 2years ago. It was a great experience, easy transaction from start to finish and handled with the utmost professionalism.
Today, I’m here at Shortline Hyundai for an oil change and recall service. I’ve been sitting in the service dept waiting room for about 10 minutes. There are 3 men also waiting for their cars in this area. The «gentleman» in the office next to the waiting room has his door open and has has 2 other employee visitors during this time.
Apparently professional behavior is reserved for the front of the house. So far, I’ve heard the «gentleman» who was referred to as «Mr. Head» release 3 fucks, 1 asshole and discuss women in pasties and paint, his kids who don’t pay him back, and make plans for a concert he’s going to tonight.
I’m not overly sensitive and I also work in sales. But this guy could use a reminder that this is a place of business, not his basement. Your customers cant help but hear everything that comes out of your nasty mouth.
If we continue to service here, my husband will be the one bringing the car in.

I started going here in the first place because I bought my subaru here. When I went to the subaru place for maintenance I thought they did a good job. The problem is they stopped doing oil changes and you now have to go to the quick lube at the shortline hyunday dealership. You cannot make an appointment like you could at the subaru dealership. Instead, for an oil change it is usually about a one and a half hour wait. The other day when I was there it was a two and a half hour wait.
I must say, they ended up doing my service for free and the service gal that helped me was very nice and friendly. Other than that, everything else was terrible. I didn’t get my free car wash even though I brought in a coupon for it. The waiting area is very uncomfortable. When i was there they were really busy and there was one chair left available. I sat in it and slumped over to the side. The chair was so lopsided I couldn’t even sit in it without straining. I ended up having to sit on the hard tile by the hot fireplace. The vending machine steals your money and if you go to the manager counter they just say sorry, it does that sometimes.
The part I am most upset about is that now after getting a simple oil change my car is making noise. I called them and described the noise, which sounds like not too big of a thing, possibly like the air filter was put in wrong or the wrong kind of oil used, but the guy on the phone said he absolutely could not let me know over the phone if it sounds like a big problem or not and I should bring it in right away. Now I have to take vacation time off of work to take it back since I am now too afraid to wait until my next day off. I am afraid every time I drive it that something major will go wrong.
I went here in the first place because I feel like going to the dealership where they would have actual subaru mechanics would be best for my car. The service here just keeps going downhill. I now feel that I may as well just go to a quick lube for the work they do here.
update**I got the issue checked out after my oil change. Turns out they just didn’t push down some clamps so there was extra noise. So at least that was an easy fix, but it still sucked to have to take vacation time to drive over there to get it looked at, along with the stress every time I drove for a few times that I was damaging my car.

I didn’t purchase my car here but the Hyundai Service dept. gets worse and worse every time I visit. Joke #1 — Had an issue with a fairly new car battery that quit dying on me. Quick jump start and it would work for a few days. Took it in they told me nothing was wrong. Happened again. This time she said I had to bring the car in «dead.» Really? 5PM after work, 15 degrees out, instead of a quick jump then driving in in to the dealership? No. Had to wait for a tow. Car was towed then they decided I had a faulty battery. Wow smart business decision cost wise. :) Joke #2 — Took car in for a break inspection under warranty. I know pads wouldn’t be covered but figured on a 2012 vehicle rotors might be a warranty item, especially if the pads aren’t worn completely. They wanted to charge me to look at the brakes. Most brake shops give free inspections. Turns out my car needed rotors after only 35,000 miles. Had the work done at Sears. No charge to inspect BTW. Dealership told me rotors aren’t bumper to bumper while at was at the appt., which I walked out on, not when making the appt. I’ve never one replaced rotors on a new car driving in the flat lands of Denver in my entire life. JOKE #3 — One back speaker was blown in car. Made an appt. to verify then order the part you say? Nah. had to drop the car off at 7am. leave it there for 6 hrs., shuttle back and forth, just to hear «yep blown speaker.» Now its on order in which ill have to take another day late for work. no car​.to install 1 speaker. 2 days late for work and completely inconveniences over a faulty under warranty speaker. This place is a joke. Id never buy a car from a dealership that cant service one. Very very unhappy. Joke #4 — Today’s shuttle. Called driver 1.5 hours ago. He said «ok on my way in 10 min.» 1 hour 10 min. later I call to see where he is. Same guy. «Who is this?» Really? We spoke a little over an hour ago. He says he was at my house and a lady said I wasn’t ready until 5. What? No lady lives here. I told him DUDE I gave you my address and # you were supposed to call. He didn’t remember literally talking to me a little over an hour ago. They are so inept it blows my mind. You can read my other reviews I’m not a negative person. I’ll give big props when props are due. This is terrible.

Whatever you do, go somewhere else. Do not trust these degenerates with your car.

Have not had very good luck with their service department. Seems like you’re doing them a favor bringing in your car. Dropped off car, had to call for update — finally got call back and was told «tried to call a few times but didn’t go through.» Huh? By the time I got the call, too late to pick up. When I went to pick up, waited about 10 minutes for the one person there to help me, then had to wait 15 minutes for them to get me my car. So frustrating. They like to apologize for their poor service, but don’t do much about it.

If there was an option for «no stars» that’s the one I would use. I confirmed they had the part, before I drove 30+ miles to have the work done. I checked in, waited in their waiting area 1.25 hours and went to check at the service desk, only to find out THEY DIDNT HAVE THE PART! The service agent was rude, and attempted to tell me it was my problem, not theirs. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS. I will order what I need from CO Springs Suzuki dealership, before stepping foot in their business again. I don’t know how they manage to stay in business with such AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE and lack of COMMUNICATION.

Bought a 2014 Forester and my 1^st oil change was free.
Calysta was very friendly so I give her 4 stars.
The oil change however… 1 star.
They left the oil filter tray full of oil, there were oily fingerprints on the hood and door even after the car was somewhat washed, and the E-brake/“above door handle” inside my car looked like a diesel mechanic who just worked on a 1978 Detroit had hopped into my car without washing his hands. With how careless the oil change was done, I highly doubt that the complimentary inspection was done.
A good mechanic costs a lot, a great mechanic is even more. A $ 20hr mechanic will leave finger prints on your car.

I have been in here a few times for VIN verifications. the process is very quick, super easy, and saves me the $ 15 that I would have to pay for one at the emissions center. Thye ahve a check in offer right now for a $ 24.99 oil change, and I plan on using that soon.

HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT —
I’ve had several experiences taking my Hyundai in for service here and quite frankly I will not be going back. I used to live in Lakewood near Planet Hyundai and never had a bad experience there. This location is slightly closer to my house by not worth the hassle.
June 2013 — Took my car in for recall maintenance. Was rather quick and painless. Got a call from the service department after I had left and a mechanic had left a flashlight in my car and I needed to return it. I found the flashlight in the driver foot well above the pedals! Really glad it didn’t fall on my foot! So I drove 40 minutes round trip to return the flashlight and just got a «thanks!» from the service team. I feel like buying a new flashlight would’ve been cheaper than my gas and time for that drive to return it.
August 2013 — My car was broken in to on a Friday night. Saturday morning I called to make an appointment to get my car looked at and repaired since the door lock was broken. Never got a return phone call from them, so I showed up at the service department where they told me they were too busy to look at my car and I should have made an appointment. After my morning I was livid and they finally agreed to «try and fit me in» but it would be $ 100 to look at the car and no guarantee at when they’d get to it. I waited for over an hour before anyone came to find me.
They had looked over the whole car (I only needed them to look at the lock) and gave me a quote for $ 2000 worth of work including brakes, power steering line, 60K check-​up, timing belt, and oh yeah, the door lock which they said needed to be completely replaced and they didn’t have the part. They informed me my car was out of warranty (why? they wouldn’t say, but I have the 10-​year, 100K mile warranty and completely am within those limits) so I’d have to pay for everything.
Since it was going to take them 5 days to get the door lock part in anyways I left and got quotes from several other mechanics in my area. The shop I took my car to next informed me that the door looked like it had been slim-​jimmed and they just needed to reattach the lock to the mechanism. NO NEW PART NEEDED and they took care of it in less than on hour!
Shortline doesn’t seem to care about being helpful but more about getting as much money out of their customers as they can. They don’t make the experience nice or helpful. I can’t believe I wasted $ 100 and several hours on these guys. Next time I’ll drive the distance to Planet Hyundai in Lakewood.

Just spent 20 000 on a preowned Subaru. 3 weeks later I have to replace all 4 tires. Another 700 $ down the drain. Shortline was unwilling to help with anything… Give them your money and walk away.
If your looking to be pressured in your purchased and up sold on useless packages than this place might be for you.

I went to Shortline Subaru and spoke with Marcus and he was very helpful in getting me a fair price on the new 2012 Impreza with absolutely ZERO games. After a week or two had passed I decided to cross shop and went to GO Subaru on Arapahoe rd. to see what they could give me… long story short that place had me sitting there for 2 hours going back and forth on things like «protective coatings» and «anti theft window etching»…which is all BS. I then promptly went back to Shortline where they gave me the original price for the car and worked very hard to get the exact color/​model I wanted, they also gave me a very good deal on the Subaru backed extended warranty. So I’m not quite sure why people are being so negative about this dealer as I had an excellent experience with Marcus and the finance guy (forgot his name).

Its been a few years, but since I am back in the car buying thought process I wanted to add my 2 cents about this place. Takes place on a Monday morning.
My man and I were interested in buying an additional Suzuki, so that I could have a new one and he could take my old Suzuki. We parked on lot and began to wonder. Only thing is that we were never met by anyone, we walked and walked. About 25 minutes went buy, we were about to leave, when a sales person had just stepped out of a test drive with someone. He asked us if we needed help.
Don’t know exactly what everyone was doing, but we took our business elsewhere and were greeted and helped almost instantly.

Poor customer service. Poor at the calling back when an important question or concern needs answered. They had me prepay for auto parts over one month ago. Those parts have not come in as far as I know. Getting refunded is yet to happen and is difficult to make happen.
My boyfriend was going to make a purchase on a car from this dealer, but decided to get a Scion after waiting several days for a call back from the sales person he was working with.
It is clear that the customer doesn’t matter. Don’t give them your money.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE with their service department. Recently moved to Denver and found Shortline while searching for a Hyundai dealer. Called in advance, verified that I did not need an appointment and their service bay accepted vehicles until 5pm. Drove across town in rush hour traffic and arrived at 4:52pm. I know the exact time because I was in a hurry to get there before they closed. No welcome, no good afternoon — I parked and had to walk up to the service bay attendant who was «otherwise occupied» while I drove by him. First words after I indicated I needed an oil change were «We’re closed — I can’t take you» I explained that I called, spoke with a female operator etc — his response was «I don’t know who you talked to, but I can’t take you»
Don’t waste my time: If you close at 6pm and accept vehicles until 5pm, then do what you say — it’s not that complicated.
Moral of the story: Don’t waste your time, go somewhere that will appreciate your business and be courteous.

Another one star for these buffoons. I mean, seriously. We got a great deal on a newer Hyundai. But it took them 3 mos. to process the loan. And even longer to get the title paperwork to the DMV, which I might add is across the street. When we began to bother them about it, we just got people who passed the buck onto someone else. Finally I got to play hardball and amazing how once you threaten a business they then decide to do what’s right.
