Rush-Copley Medical Center Campus

I went to rush Copley imaging cntr on 4355 Montgomery. In Naperville. Couldn’t locate so I figure to send this review to any rush. I hand an over the phone interview with the manager he set me up for the job, HR contacted me set up orientation. And had me sending my info. Background check and everything .
When I met the director, via she gave an impression
As though she had chosen the wrong person, very vague but discrimination was what she presented. Never the less with my experience and background. This director was discretely nasty and let me no by her handshake and facial expression she wasn’t giving me
The job. I let a message for HR, and about a day later they let me no I didn’t have the job, email. still not informing the background company that I wasn’t bein considered. With them still email me for more I formation.

The worst experience I have ever had! I went to Rush because I was having chest pains combined with vertigo, my vision was blurry so thought best to go. The ER room team was great, they got me right in, took tests and made me feel comfortable. All my test came back fine, the doctor thought it was due to stress, but just to be safe he wanted to keep me overnight for a stress test in the morning. They were also doing some kind of blood test where they draw your blood every two hours from a different place in your body 3 times. The problem started when they moved be to my room, that took over 2 hours and they did not do the last blood draw they were suppose to do. Even after hours, once moved upstairs, and then when I got up there, they did not do a thing to help me, I could not even get a glass of water, they kept saying they would come back and never did. They also only offered me Tylenol to sleep or Sulfur for my chest pains that as anyone knows does nothing for anxiety. They did not even continue fluids which the doctor down stairs in the ER had ordered. My IV line was all twisted around me, which by the way they were not using and took me another hour to get anyone to come help me straighten them out. They only made me extremely more stressed she my pain was so bad by this time I could not sleep. After repeated requests to please call the doctor and them telling me they would be back and again would not come back, I decided the stress was making me worse and left. They had not given me any medicine and I also found out they do not even do stress tests there on Sunday, which the doctor downstairs in ER said they did. I asked the nurse why I was there, they could not do the test gave me nothing for anxiety, but made worse. When I told them I was leaving and did not want my insurance charged for an additional day in the hospital, I asked the nurse to write down she had given me medicine or IV, nothing was done so I would not be charged she refused unless I signed a paper releasing the hospital from anything that happened after I left, which I refused. It amazes me that when you suffer from anxiety you do know which medicines will help, if you have any knowledge of medicine they treat you like you are some kind of drug addict, I guess knowledge of what Tylenol does for anxiety is a bad thing even for inflammation of muscles we know that Ibuprofen helps not Tylenol, guess I should not have known that either. WORST HOSPITAL EVER IN MY OPINION! I have other bad experiences there before with my children’s visits and vowed to never return, but when you think you are having a heat attack, you go to the closest hospital, which is Rush no my case. If this ever happens again I will go to Edwards Hospital for sure, NEVER RUSH! Take my advice don’t use this hospital!!!’ If my 16 year old daughter was not there to help me, I don’t know what I would have done. Maybe they should check the high schools to find some real help, seems she has way more knowledge and attentiveness then the Rush nursing and doctors staff! (except the ER team, they were great) also the room service is open until 2AM, that’s how I finally got something to drink, I had to call them and they brought my order right up.

If I could give a negative number, I would. My daughter is a special needs adult. We were directed there by a specialty hospital in Chicago as I could not get her there due to an operation I recently had. I called R-​C before we went there and was assured they had the tube that she needed. The nurse told me if they didn’t have the right size, they would put a Foley Catheter in to give us about 2 days to arrange for a trip to the Chicago hospital to have the correct tube put in. My daughter was brought to Rush-​Copley by ambulance as she had a tube in her stomach burst. BAD news from the beginning. The nurse that had her removed the tube from her stomach — bad move. Once it is removed, we only have a small window of time to get a replacement in. The Dr came in with a Foley Catheter 2 sizes too big. I tried to tell him not to use it as it would stretch her surgical hole too large. He insisted it would be fine. I even brought the box with the size details on it so that they would see what size she needed. Obviously, even though they have a GI Lab there, they had no clue.
The nurse lied to the Dr about removing the tube and said it «fell out.» We had taped it in so securely and my daughter held it in place during transport. There is NO WAY it could have fallen out on its own as we live 2.3 miles from the hospital.
Once we went home, my daughter started having terrible stomach pains in the middle of the night. We had her transported to the hospital in Chicago; they could not believe anyone tried to stick a catheter in her that was so much larger than the original tube. The pain was unbelievable and we thought she was going to have to be admitted. I only hope that no physical damage was done to my daughter’s intestines because of their ineptness. Let’s not even talk about the emotional damage that was done.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have had a bad experience there. I only regret I allowed her to be transported there. We will not be back — EVER!

Love the doctors and the staff… hate the wait for ER visit. But, I would much rather go here than Mercy any day.
I have seen situations here where I didn’t think there was much hope, but they completely performed what I would have to call magic.
They really care about the people that are in front of them. From the people at the front desk to the doctor’s to the cafeteria staff… Everybody is in it for the mission of serving the people.
I had a deviated septum surgery here that changed my life around. I know that seems like a crazy statement. It’s a very minor procedure. They are not 100% responsible for the life changing, but they do share in that percentage.
I would trust them with not only myself but any family member.

I wouldnt even give this hospital one star! I was taken there by ambulance because of extreme vomiting and a migraine. I had to walk out because they treated me like I was a joke and didnt even csre about my pain never again! Worst hospital ever.

Came here for a sprained ankle that I thought was broken. Fast service. Great staff. I was out within an hour

Don’t go here if you can avoid it!!! My mother was taken there by ambulance after a fall, once the assigned physician found out her primary care doctor was not on staff she left us in the hands of employees that did not know what the other was doing, there was no communication between themselves. Mind you she has private insurance and Medicare. Now bedridden they promised I would have everything at home (hospital bed etc.) before my mother came home, but for three days employees harassed me that she had to be discharge but was left to get the necessary supplies on my own. Since she could no longer go upstairs they told me to put her on the sofa and prop her up with pillows, but that the hospital could no longer keep her, or I would have to pay out of pocket. After I threatened them with a lawsuit she mysteriously was okay to stay until I received her bed. One of their excuses was since she came in on Thursday and the weekend was close by, they could not get her supplies. So I turned to my mother and said did you hear that make sure next time you fall on Monday or Tuesday, ridiculous! Some of the nurses and caregivers were very nice, but when there was a shift change no one knew my mother suffers from dementia and they should take for granted what she was saying to be true.

My wife just delivered a baby about a week ago. We used the midwives at Rush. We had a few different complications after the delivery and we ended up in the hospital for 5 days, between problems with my wife and son.
We can not say enough nice things about our treatment throughout everything we went through. The nursing staff throughout the many departments we went through were all top notch! For as crappy as it was having to go through everything we have been through, the entire staff made our experience so much easier. I would highly recommend the services at Rush!

Saw another nurse at the diabetes center, Phyllis. She was also fabulous! Very helpful.

I have to agree with Simon C. I gave birth three days ago at Rush-​Copley and it was a miserable experience. I got absolutely no rest due to the constant parade of people coming through my room (nurses, techs, housekeeping, photographer, birth certificate person, lactation consultants, etc, etc). It was beyond frustrating and exhausting! I came to the hospital at 2am in labor. By 11pm, I was just begging for sleep, but it just didn’t happen because of the constant interruptions. Sad to say, my only relief was my son being taken to the NICU for low blood sugar, so at least I was relieved from having to care for him overnight. My husband was in disbelief at the situation. He finally asked the nurse if they could do anything about the number of people coming by. She said she could put a do not disturb sign on my door which I immediately took her up on. Bad move. After that, the nurses became very passive aggressive towards me. Each new nurse came in and immediately gave me attitude simply because I wanted to get some rest. I took to hiding out in the NICU, but they would all still hunt me down there. For real people?! I’m in the NICU with my child, I do NOT want to see the photographer! As for overnight accommodations, if you truly love your overnight guest, don’t make them stay in your room. Their only option is a very uncomfortable chair that flips out into a lounger that I could never imagine sleeping comfortably in. I couldn’t wait to get out of that place! My recommendation: go somewhere else to have your baby!!!

My daughter was born here. Attention. Do not choose this hospital for labor and delivery.
From the time my wife was admitted to the time the baby was delivered, it was good. But after they cleaned up the baby, they just want to shove you downstairs to the normal room immediately.
When we got to our room, it’s the beginning of a very bad nightmare. The room is very small. It doesn’t even have room for a sofa or a closet or a wardrobe. Only a crappy recliner for me to sleep on.
All of our friends and relatives told us the hospital will give you plenty of supplies for the mom and the baby. Not Rush Copley.
This hospital does not want to give you any supplies. They will not give you any baby formula even when you ask for it 3 times. They will force you to breastfeed no matter what because they «prefer» the mom to breastfeed. Even my wife does not produce enough milk. They just keep saying everything is ok and perfectly normal. Also, They will only refill diapers when there’s only a few left in the drawer.
My wife was exhausted after 30 hours without sleep and 15 hours in labor. Yet they didn’t even give her a chance to rest. We were taking care of our baby’s every need right after she was born even though we had zero experience, and my wife still had epidural in her body. Baby is up every 2 hours or so because she’s hungry. My wife needs to feed her and I need to change diaper. We ask the nurse if she can take the baby to the nursery so my wife can truly rest. They said they don’t have that because they «prefer» the baby to be with the mother. Come on! My wife wants to be with the baby, too but she’s just totally exhausted.
No rest for both me and my wife. Nurses, doctors, photos, social workers, janitors are coming in every hour. Without sleep, my wife became more stressed. Baby is crying again. She tried to feed her but she had no milk. Baby got tired and fell back asleep after 20 minutes of dry sucking. Woke up again in an hour (became every hour). Still no sleep for wifey and still no milk for baby. All of us were frustrated. Baby and wife were crying. I was heartbroken. This is the cycle. Every hour is the same. It was simply miserable. Obviously something is terribly wrong, but the nurse is still telling us it is normal. All we need is a bottle of formula to feed the baby to calm her but the hospital never offered us any.
My wife was starving after labor. Tried to order food. The portion for each dish is incredibly small but they won’t even let her order 2 entrees thinking the second entrée would be for me. On the phone they constantly ask «is this just for you? Is this just for you?» They cut each of the 2 entrée into half portion. OMG it is just so cheap. We spend $ 30 000 on this stay and they question us when we wanted to order 2 small cartons of skim milk. Some people have big appetite. I can’t imagine how they are gonna survive.
They just keep telling you everything is ok and normal while it is not. It’s always «we prefer». This hospital operates according to their own preference. Not the patient’s. They don’t want to give you anything. My wife never slept for more than 2 hours straight while she was there. My baby lost 20% of her weight. I’ll never come to this hospital again when it’s about my daughter.

They are making my wife’s pregnancy experience an excellent one. She extremely happy with the service and the fact they speak spanish and English in many of the offices on the campus, unlike dupage medical/​Edwards. Friendly kind people all around.

Had to come here from a work accident. Very friendly staff, and short wait time.
If you’re in need of emergency care, this place is ideal. Just don’t pay for what you don’t need. It’s very expensive.

Well, my grandmother was admitted to their emergency room yesterday for a staph infection in her leg. She has a history of heart issues as well as kidney problems with Copley. There was no heart monitor for her, no IV antibiotics, nothing that would be a standard of care for an 82 year old woman with her health history. They discharged her, my cousin picked up her prescription and took her and took her to my mom’s house where she collapsed and died on her garage floor less than two hours later. Great emergency room care you have there Copley! :(

I just had a left knee repIacement. My surgery was done by Mark Schinsky of Castle Orthopedics. The hospital of choice was Rush Copley Memorial. think the measurement of any hospital is the nursing staff. That being said I have to give 4 stars to Rush Copley. Bear in mind that I was only on the Orthopedics Unit, so I’m not in a position to generalize… one would think that the same attitude pervades the entire facility. From a thoughtful and thorough check-​in, which was done in a private day surgery room. Most of the surgical team straggled in periodically to introduce themselves before I was wheeled to the OR. Once I got to recovery, the nurses were extremely attentive and when I was transferred to my room on the ortho floor, there was a constant interaction with the staff. They wrote their names on a board for each shift, checked in when they came on shift, checked out when the shift changed. If I did well post op, it’s directly related to the nursing staff! My daughter, my surgical coach, was kept informed and had all her questions answered. They must have gone over my discharge instructions 2 – 3 times, leaving no stones unturned. During my brief stay, my internist sent her associate to see me the first day, and she showed up the second day to check on my progress. My orthopedic surgeon stopped by to let me know I doing well. Now all of this is tempered by two things: my surgery went quite well with zero complications, and my hospitalization was a planned procedure. So based on that I can only give out 4 stars, but I’d recommend them in a heartbeat!

I really like this hospital and have always had a very good experience each time that I have been here. They are clean and friendly which is always important when you are dealing with your health. The reason I take away stars is for an experience I had with my grandma. First off, she came through the ER and was treated well there. They found out that she had COPD and Congestive Heart Failure so they admitted her to the hospital. She doesn’t speak any English which I understand is difficult to deal with. Seeing that there isn’t a high Polish population in the burbs this hospital is not really equipped to deal with something like that. However, being that it is a hospital they should have some access to a translation service that would be quick and efficient. As much as we would have liked to stay with her all day it just wasn’t possible with our work schedules. When she was released we were very concerned that she wasn’t ready to come home because she was acting very strange and could hardly walk on her own. We went home and a day later had to readmit her because she fell. I kind of felt like they didn’t want to deal with her because she was foreign and communication was difficult and had to keep calling us because their translation services weren’t readily available. Other than that everything was okay.

My mom is been here a lot lately and they have taken extremely good care for each and every time. I would recommend this hospital to anybody, they take extremely good care of the seniors. The only complaint that I would have is that it takes for ever to be able to get a room when you’re in the emergency room if you have to go to one of the floors

If you have to e in a hospital… this is the one I would pick. It is very clean. The staff is very nice, patient, attentive, and also very polished.

This review pertains to outpatient facilities ONLY!
I had to have an ultrasound to see if my baby was «viable» or not and my doctor’s office recommended it because they are right on campus. The tech was great, the procedure was smooth, and we even got a CD of baby’s first pics!
However, it’s not just quality of care that is important but the price too! The good part is they list their prices for all procedures VERY systematically on the website. The worst part is despite my insurance bargaining with them, our ultrasound still came to rought $ 600 dollars, including, of course, a separate bill from the tech’s office (and they didn’t accept much of a discount). When I looked around for independent u/​s clinics closer to my home after telling my provider this was unacceptable, I found one willing to work with us for the next one for ONE-​FOURTH the price!
I am very worried about L&D charges in this hospital. My first round of prenatal testing (for which I had to go to outpatient services because my doctor’s office cannot draw blood from patients who are part of certain insurance plans), came back with a bill for nearly $ 700. The charge for drawing blood was close to $ 100! What a rip-​off. I know this is not a private practice, and serves larger numbers of people, but hospitals routinely charge $ 25 or so for drawing blood. This is completely unacceptable because my PCP uses Labcorp too and I haven’t paid more than half the price for double the number of tests+ blood draw. They clearly mark up prices because they are a hospital and have the liberty to do that! If you have a low deductible plan or if your insurance is able to haggle its way with their bills, go to them. Else, watch out.
Of course, the staff are very courteous, but beyond a point, one needs to watch one’s wallet too!

This is the best hospital /​medical center I have ever had the misfortune of visiting.
First, they are super efficient. My brother was scheduled for out-​patient surgery, and just gave his name and the rest was done /​in the system.
Secondly, they have a great culture. Super nice people. They even allow dogs in the Day Surgery waiting room! Nice people to help. Free bottled water and coffee in the waiting room. A airport type monitor that keeps you notified of a patient’s status for surgery.
Third, it’s a great facility. All rooms are private. It’s easy to get around even though it is a sprawling building. Good cafeteria. Lots of outdoor areas to wait or lounge.
Other than the reason for visiting, I really don’t mind going there.
