I have boarded and trained four dogs at Rocwind over the past 20 years and have only the highest praise for them. My dogs eagerly run in for boarding and are happy and healthier upon my return than when I left them. And I don’t say that lightly. Tucker, my 16 pound Cavalier King Charles was attacked the day before I was leaving for 10 days resulting in his eye having to be surgically removed! It was awful and I had to go due to parental health issues. Carole and Crew at Rocwind were better trained than I to care for Tucker. They created a makeshift pen next to the desk for him to hang out in as he couldn’t be with other dogs. Tamra said he spent the first day on her lap only occasionally whimpering. They monitored him for pain in case he needed pain meds and to rule out any infection and the need for a vet visit (to which they said they would transport him if needed). They updated me until I no longer felt the need to call in. I returned to a largely healed and happy dog.
I trust Carole, Don and their staff with my precious Tucker and any future doggie member of my family. As well as boarding, they trained me to train and maintain my dogs’ behaviors. Well behaved dogs have made my life pleasant and my dogs welcome in and invited back to all dog-​friendly settings that I frequent. I cannot recommend Rocwind highly enough.

After several days of oral antibiotics, Benadryl, betadine-​soaked gauze eye washes and topical antibiotic ointment, The skin around Rufus’ eyes is slowly improving. After the course of treatment was complete, he still has healing scabs and a small not-​quite-​healed lump that may need another course of the ointment. It will take a long time for all the hair to grow back though (hopefully it does).
I emailed the vet bill of about $ 76 to Rocwind on 3÷25÷15 and today is ⁴⁄₂ — 8 days. I have not received reimbursement yet.
While they seem to be concerned about it and were very apologetic, the excuses I have been given over the couple of weeks after picking him up just continued. I would have been more placated with apologies without the excuses thrown in.

We left our dog in their care for 5 days during our move. We picked him up today and he’s pee’d inside all day! He’s NEVER pee’d in the house before.
They let the dogs urinate and poop in the large room the keep them in at play time. Otherwise, they’re in a kennel.
Our dogs demeanor has also changed.
Wtf did they do to my baby?!
I knew I should’ve trusted my gut and walked out when the lady was so rude when we walked in.
We had obedience training there, so I am shocked.

For about 12 years now, I have been using Rocwind Canine Center to board my dogs. I, and my furry friends, love getting to romp with the other boarders, and then retire to their kennel-​condos for sleep and meal times. Carol and the rest of the staff are so caring and knowledgeable. An added plus is that it’s on the way to the airport! Rocwind was first recommended to me by a friend who had had long experience with Carol’s training and competition skills, which I’ve never had the need for. When my current dog is gone, if we get another puppy, I fully intend to sign up for obedience training with Carol.

A hidden gem, without a doubt. I was told by several people that the petsmart puppy classes were cheap and did a sufficient job so I looked them up AND other schools for comparison. Petsmart would not let me do drop in classes but Rockwind does. As a matter of fact, RCC offers a super cheap Saturday drop-​in class and TONS of other classes for people who like a well trained dog by their side.
I’ve waited two weeks and four classes to write this review because I wanted, as a novice dog trainer, to be sure I knew that this place was worthy of all the praise I want to shower upon it. It is! I’m in love with all the trainers, the methods (and they are open to using anything you might want to use instead), and the environment.
Their prices are competitive, however, expect to pay 10 – 20 dollars more but, trust me, you get a VERY personalized treatment for that nominal extra few dollars. They know breeds, behavior, dispositions, a plethora of techniques, and they make it FUN.
If you just got a puppy, you have a dog who needs more stimulation, you are dealing with behavior issues, or you just want to mix up your methods give these people a call and you’ll be glad you did. My new puppy is already flourishing and we just started!
I love Rockwind! Bravo to a group of people who care AND deliver premium training to even the most novice of dog handlers.

This is top notch dog obedience school owned by one country’s top Great Dane’s breeders (these Danes are scary smart and almost human-​like). People come as far as the mountains and Colorado Springs. I’ve been taking my dogs there for over 10 years. I put them through all obedience levels – from puppy kindergarten to advanced. As part of Advanced Obedience, they go through a Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) test and get an official AKC certificate if they pass – not a bad thing to have in times of breed-​banning legislations and draconian pet license fees..
Carol also offers confirmation classes and does training for competitive obedience. They do one-​on-​one training sessions and are a kennel and a day-​care, though I’ve never used those services.
On certain days of the week, they do therapeutic doggie massages. There are also grooming services, and wow are the prices competitive! Some places would charge me double that amount for my hairy monsters.
The training is all positive reinforcement. The classes are broken into two parts – lecture while the dogs play under supervision, and then exercises. It’s especially great for «high maintenance» breeds, such as Rotti’s, Dobermans, etc. You will always get a no-​nonsense well-​qualified advice on behavior, health, food, etc.
Does it sound like I am too worshiping of the place? I totally am. Ten years ago, having never owned a dog before, I found myself with a huge «not for the first-​time-​owner-​breed» puppy. Pets Control made dog ownership a piece of cake for me. My dog went on to earn his CGC and was a great ambassador for his otherwise tough-​reputation breed. This place is completely out of my way, but I wouldn’t dream of ever taking my dogs anywhere else.
