This place has great pizzas. I am allergic to pine nuts and they were so accommodating and took extra care with mine. You build your own individual pizza. They have quite a few toppings to choose from. Great place to stop and sit before, after or in between your shopping.

This was the first place I saw upon entering the outlet mall parked near Off Saks. We came back to it per the request of my friend’s daughter who wanted pizza for lunch. It worked out really well as Monday’s they have a special free cheese pizza for kids when a regular sized one is ordered. You get the option of getting a classic, whole wheat, or gluten-free dough. They have pre-made menu options and then you can also build your own. Unfortunately, I have been making my own healthy version of building my own pizza at home and opted for a salad instead. This was pretty good considering that pizza does have quite a variety of toppings one can add. I mixed all three types of lettuce romaine, arugula, and spinach. I then added mushrooms, roasted red peppers, green peppers, black olives, banana peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, bacon, and roasted chicken. I also had some white balsamic drizzled on there, and it was decent as far as salads go. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly.

I wanted to like it because I love brick oven pizza. Their crust is okay, the sauce is really acidic, and they lack toppings on the margarita pizza. The toppings were fresh, I’ll give them that, but it really lacked any flavor other than burnt(because they burnt the bottom of the pizza) and acid(from the sauce). Maybe it was an off day, but I doubt I’ll be back, considering it’s located in hell… no really the outlet mall is pure hell.

The build your own pizza trend is exploding. Rise Pies is just beginning and has a long way to catch up. Build you own pizza starts at $ 6.95. add’l costs for more toppings. $ 9.95 for unlimited toppings. Pros: Restaurant is clean and modern with plenty of seating. There are several TVs(none with the volume on) so you can catch the game. You watch the workers putting the toppings on your pizza, so you can ensure they’re adding the right ingredients. Pizza is cooked in 160 seconds, so you can be in and back to shopping in no time. They have a large variety of soda to choose from from their high tech drink dispenser that organized the soda by regular, caffine free, low/no calorie and fruit flavored. On Mondays, kids under 10 get a free cheese pizza with a purchase of a regular pizza. Cons: Their specialty pizzas didn’t sound appealing, so we opted to build our own. The menu board doesn’t list all of the ingredients, so you can’t be fully prepared with your order until you get in front of the toppings. That causes long delays in the line. The toppings selection fairly small. They had a few different sauces(2 red sauces, pesto, bbq, a few others), but I was surprised they didn’t have a white sauce. Their selection of meats and veggies were limited. They put the bare minimum of each topping. We were excited to build our own, but with the minimal selection, we ended up with a classic pizza with the traditional red sauce, mozzerella, pepperoni and meatballs. Our daughter got the traditional red sauce with mozzerella and spinach. Both pizzas were almost paper thin, lacked sauce, lacked mozerella and lacked overall flavor. One thing it did have a lot of was crust.

My husband and I were excited to visit the Aurora outlet mall after they expanded with more stores and what looked like some type of fired-pizza place. We walk in, the place is nice and new, and clean… better be since it’s new! The pictures of the pizzas got us even more anxious to try the pies. We love pizzas that have a nice rise to the crust from the fire — be it wood or gas. Hate to say it, but I was disappointed. Rise Pies? More like Flat Pies… or just flatbread, really. Absolutely no rise to the crust and no blistering from the fire. I’ll give them credit for the fresh ingredients for toppings, but when you specifically name your pizza joint with the word, «rise» in it, wouldn’t you expect it to happen? I’m guessing those press machines that they use takes out the potential rise. One last thing to note, the operations of taking orders and making pies was so inefficient. We noticed that a big rush of about 15 people came in after us, and it took a good 5 min after someone would place their order for the pizza to be made(Blaze/chipotle/subway style) before it hits the oven. So imagine 5 minutes per person standing in line. I get that they are new, but only one person topping the pies during the rush looked pretty stressful for them. Hopefully they will take notice and improve on the efficiency. All in all, if you’re looking for a create your own flatbread, you can come here. But if you’re looking for a nice fluffy, airy crust with a nice little crunch on the outside, better look elsewhere.
