History

Established in 2006.

Kalama Polynesian Dancers was established by Glenda «AIWA» Bautista. Glenda has been dancing with many halaus (hula schools) across the country. She started dancing when she was very young and danced professionally for 12 years at the world famous Mai-​Kai Polynesian Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, FL (www​.maikai​.com). She also has been training the Ilima Style of Dance as a child in HULA and trained with Mireille Thornton on the tradional and modern styles of Tahitian Dance.

Glenda Bautista has continued to spread ALOHA and has dedicated her time to teach the Polynesian Culture to the Denver community. She has been blessed to acquire many students and Professional Polynesian Dancers here in Denver. Together they have reached out and provided outstanding performances in Colorado and beyond. Glenda’s experience in dance started as a child. She has been featured on MTV, Local FL T.V.
