The location and views set us apart. Located on the banks of the Fox River, Plum Landing residents enjoy great views from every apartment. The building itself is built into the side of a hill, making it almost invisible from Lake St. (Rt. 31), while also making it easily accessible from all directions.

We are a nonprofit corporation governed by a local board of directors who are prominent in all areas of local business, many of whom have had family that called Plum Landing home.

History

Established in 1962.

Plum Landing Retirement Community was the dream of Ida Mighell, a school teacher and principal. Miss Mighell made provisions in her will to build comfortable housing, designed specifically for active retired seniors. The result was a beautiful, six-​story building in a park-​like setting along the Fox River: Plum Landing.

In 1962, Plum Landing Retirement Community opened its doors as a not-​for-​profit organization, providing a secure environment in a quiet and peaceful setting for active adults, 55 and better, who want to live independently. We are governed by a local board of directors who are prominent in all areas of local business, many of whom have had family that called Plum Landing home.
