The Plains Conservation Center exists to bring the natural wonder of the prairie into the realm of personal experience by:
PRESERVING a remnant of the eastern Colorado High Plains,
EDUCATING the public about its natural and cultural heritage and NURTURING sound conservation and environmental ethics.
You can explore the 1,100-acre short-grass prairie natural area, visit a replica 1887 Cheyenne Camp and an 1887 sod homestead. Complete calendar of programs and events online at: www. plainscenter.org.
History
Established in 2007.
Plains Center began in the 1950’s as a project of West Arapahoe Conservation District. Because of continued growth and interest in our programs, we incorporated as an independent non-profit organization in 2007.

Manager
Dr. Jeffrey Su, Executive Director
Dr. Jeffrey Su brings over 20 years of experience as a Professor of Conservation Biology, Environmental Educator, and Non-Profit Executive Director to the PCC. He has worked as a researcher, educator, and Executive Director in Australia, Europe, Asia, and the USA. He has published in peer-reviewed scientific and education journals and has also served on the board of directors for multiple state, national and international environmental education and conservation organizations. He joined the Plains Conservation Center in December 2012.
