Mitchell’s Recreation

I love Mitchelle’s. I visit there every summer when we visit Aurora. Mexican restaurant next door offers breakfast/​lunch/​dinner. Go visit if you are in town.

Special thanks to Buck and the gang at Mitchell’s Recreation for letting me perform some music while I was in town! That being said (full disclosure rule) this is a great neighborhood bar where you can watch the game on big screen TVs, play some pool and put some music on the digital jukebox. There’s a great Mexican restaurant next door with an inside entrance right from the bar, so you can order food while you’re at Mitchell’s and not have to leave your seat to go pick it up — the servers will bring it right to you! My wife and I visit Aurora each year to see my folks, so we’ll be back next year no doubt and I plan on playing another show. If you’re passing through Aurora, check it out! The ambience is excellent and the locals are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

Mitchell’s Recreation is a pool hall on the downtown square in Aurora. It features a very nice bar and the décor is beautiful, lots of brickwork and exposed timber. It’s a good place for hanging out, we enjoyed our visit.
When we first stepped in I thought this might be a gay bar because the bartender had a big mustache and was wearing very short, tight denim shorts. But we soon noticed that women slightly outnumbered men so we decided it must have just been his personal style.
