Established in 1986.

Carl Schultz is a degreed Horticulturist. He recognized the need that homeowners have for information to make the best choices for their unique needs. So he started a business that helps homeowners to save money landscaping by themselves, while obtaining a professional result.

Horticultural Consultants also provides horticultural services that are hard for homeowners do themselves in a quality way at an affordable price.

Business Owner

Carl has a life long interest in connecting people with nature. He would spend hours outdoors. In high school he took a horticulture class and was hooked. After several jobs in the industry, Carl went to the University of Illinois and received a degree in Ornamental Horticulture.

Carl took a job in a tree care company right out of college. After 7 years of experience, he started Horticultural Consultants (1986) so he could help people bring a nature experience right in their own yard. Elected as a Forest Preserve Commissioner in DuPage County in 2002, he spent 10 years also connecting people with nature in the great outdoors.
