H&R Block

We saw Kathy Peluse today and we’re very happy with the service! She helped us work through a Married/​joint filing with ease and our return was great! Yes you do pay a bit for the service but the piece of mind guarantee has always been worth it for me.
Additionally Kathy gave us some great tips for next years filings that could save us even more next year!

I highly recommend H&R Block to complete your tax returns if you don’t know how to do it yourself or are hesitant to try with TurboTax.
We worked with Kathy Peluse. She is very friendly, personable and informative. I’ve also used her in the past, and so have my parents. We are always very happy with the service we get from Kathy at H&R Block.
I used Turbo Tax last year, but wasn’t confident that I did everything correctly. Kathy offered to check last year’s return for free.
It is easy and convenient to make an appointment online. During busy tax season I needed an evening appointment and was able to get in within a week.
Getting our taxes done at HR Block was more expensive than TurboTax. I’ve used them at least 3 times, and it is usually in the $ 250 range to file both my state and federal returns combined. But it is totally worth the peace of mind that no stone will be left unturned.

I will seriously never get my taxes done here again. This was my third year at H&R Block, the second year at this particular location. I trusted them to do everything right due to their reputation. What I got was a $ 170 tax preparation charge and a lot of empty promises.
The first thing the guy said was that this location was one of the better ones because they handled more complicated tax preparation. Yet, he informed me that my husband and my taxes were fairly straight forward. He did our taxes and told us our refund… we were very happy with the amount we were going to get back. We left all smiles. The next day, he called to tell us that he was using outdated information and our refund was really going to be about a third of what he originally told us. When we asked for a refund, he said the best he could do would be to do our taxes for free next year. I think not!
Beware they H&R Block hype. Go to a real accountant or just do your own taxes.
