At the recommendation of a friend who is planning her wedding, I decided to scope this place out myself. After all, I have a few friends that are getting married where I have been tasked to help in certain areas. Wedding cakes is one of them. I went to the website provided to me and became quite concerned over the miniature sized photos. I could not see the fine details and artistry within each design I was interested in. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the irregularities between styles. For the layman, this would be like an artist suddenly switching mediums or Aerosmith suddenly singing R&B. Red flags abound! Through some research, I found that several of the photos were taken from other internet websites like perfect wedding day or easy cake ideas. It is one thing to be inspired by another’s design, but it’s another to blatantly pass a creation off as one’s own. Any reputable business owner(in this case, 20 years) should know business law well enough to realize this is fraud and copyright infringement when photo credits/sources aren’t provided. As an event coordinator and photographer, I personally could never contract with a company who does not operate in good business practices. It is a shame, considering most prefer to work with local businesses vs commercial. This storefront however, does not take the cake II’m afraid.
