2nd and Charles

I used to like 2^nd & Charles but I’m starting to grow tired of them.
I recently sold some items to them such as books, a CD, some brand new DVDs and a brand-​new Adventures of Batman box set. I was dissapointed at the amount of money I earned because I recieved 7.60 in cash (it would’ve been $ 15 in store credit) for a good quantity of items and not to mention, great quality. The box set was very expensive when I got it, it was $ 30. So when they paid me under $ 7 for it I was very unhappy. Needless, to say I will start listing my goods on E-​Bay.
The only reason that I go there at all now is to buy some incense which I really love. Books are really cheap there, too. Other than that, a lot of things there seem a little overpriced such as albums and t-​shirts.

Absolutely my favorite place to go for vinyl and gadgets! They have the coolest collection of trinkets and buttons (actually labeled on my receipt as Stupid Buttons lol). Also, gotta love their clothes and oh, their «library» of books. Everything from today’s best sellers to the classics you can’t find anywhere else. For example, they even had a set of books I’ve never heard of before that my child has been asking for forever.
No matter what kind of spending mood I’m in, 2^nd and Charles has got it covered.

My feet hurt for hours after I came here! There’s so many different sections to browse and you can easily spend hours perusing through the aisles.
Books, movies, video games, board games — this store has it all! It might take a while, but you will always find that diamond in the rough!

This review is only based on trying to sell some musical equipment at the store. In the end, they offered me $ 400 store credit (which was a bit low), but only $ 200 cash. I can’t see anything online where they tell you that you only get half amount if you want cash. Definitely a ripoff.
In the end I brought my equipment to Music Go Round in Aurora and get $ 460 cash, would’ve been about $ 570 in store credit. I know 2^nd and Charles isn’t a musical instrument store, so they don’t necessarily know what things are worth. Offering me $ 400 in store credit is definitely low, but forgivable. Offering $ 200 cash is just ridiculous. I don’t recommend anyone sell things here unless you’re sure you’re going to use store credit. I also think that they should make it clear upfront that they’ll cut your value in half if you want cash so I could’ve skipped them altogether (or better yet, change this ridiculous policy).

Awesome selection and video games DVDs Blu-​rays CDs PlayStation for Nintendo DS I recommend this to anybody. Staff is friendly places in a convenient location.

Pretty awesome used book store! You could spend hours browsing their selection, most of which is in pretty good condition. I do agree that their more recent, popular offerings (books released in the last three or so years) tend to be kind of expensive at least related to the price you could get them for brand new on Amazon, but they have a LOT of older stuff that is fairly priced.
In addition to books, they have records, cheap CDs, video games, comic books, DVDs and Blu-​ray, and musical instruments.
Bring a bag or box to carry your purchases home because when I went they didn’t have any (but you can buy a tote from them).

Reminds me of A Tower records before they went under — has interesting gag gifts, vinyls, instruments, music and movies
Found a few items worth teasing my dad about his 60^th birthday, but nothing that screams this is an amazing place or that I can’t find online

Man, the people who work here are so nice.
They asked if I needed help, but not in an annoying way. Just made themselves available, but when I said I was looking, they were cool.
I bought a controller for a game console, and the checkout clerk told me to make sure and test it right away because sometimes these reproduction items just plain don’t work, so I’d want to test it out and come get a refund, which was only good for ten days.
How awesome. She knew the products, knew the store policies, and knew the way that people kind of get themselves in trouble, and she let me know how to avoid all that.
Oh, and I had an empty coffee cup, and when I came up to the counter she asked if she could throw it away for me. She certainly didn’t have to do that, and it was way more than I typically expect when I go up to a register.
The selection here is great. And I regret not buying an Untold Tales of Spider-​Man Omnibus Edition. It’s cheaper here than it is on Amazon, but like $ 20 or so. Which is pretty huge.

Huge store with a good amount of items. They have a large selection of books, movies, and music, but do not expect to get a great deal. A lot of their stuff is used and is definitely below retail, but not as cheap as you would expect for used items.
The only drawback for me as a comic book collector is that they do not put out new release comics until Wednesday night or Thursday morning. It is a good place to find variants at cover price, but you have to guess as to when hey will receive their shipments. Also, there back issues are not organized in the least, but that being said, I have found a good amount of under priced comics scattered though the back issues, but you have to be willing to look for a while.

Great store with some very friendly staffs. I always find something interesting to read here. They also have an extensive collection of cds dvds and games. It has become one of my favorite weekend hangout spots.

Is it strange that I stop by here sometimes with my significant other on a date night just to browse around and look at all the cool stuff? Hopefully not.
They really do have a ton of stuff here, from CDs, records, instruments, DVDs, video games, books… the list goes on and on. The prices are awesome and I usually can easily kill an hour or two just looking around. You’ll be able to find a mixture of older, used things and spiffy, new things all together here.
They do buy or trade things, but usually the amount they pay you is tiny. Still a good place to check out.

Good-​sized book and «stuff» store. They have a large assortment of books, vinyl, CD’s and games. There was definitely a ton of people browsing, which is a good thing in a bookstore. I hate going in and being the only person there, as sometimes it feels like the death knell for a store.
Most of the used stuff here was recently used. I really didn’t find any older stuff, and most definitely nothing I was looking for. But there was still a great selection here and I killed most of an hour just browsing around.

This is a super fun store. It is media heaven. Records, CDs, books, games, knick knacks, t-​shirt and stuff galore. It is kind of one part used book store, one part Barnes and Noble and one part spencer gifts. Some new, some used, but all really fun! We wasted an hour before a movie in here and all found something, even though we needed nothing. Loved it!

I love this store, if you like books, cd’s this is place to go. Love it! Really great prices, neat things all around from movies, books.

Awesome place to find 100’s of extremely affordable books, games, movies, electronics and whatever else you can think of for reading n entertainment for adults and children. Awesome diamond in the rough in S. Aurora.

Crazy selection of old video games and priced well! Got a great deal on double credit weekend on a trade in!

I purchased books a week ago for a sick friend. She did not like four of the 10 I bought. I went to return them (now mind you its been a week) and I am told I can only sell them back. The total of the books returned was just over $ 70. So I week later they offer me $ 2 in cash and $ 4 in store credit. Really and are you going to even remove your tags from the books? I seriously doubt it. I will NEVER shop there again. What a mark up and what a RIP OFF!!!

I love this store. It’s a used book and media store, so you can get video games, movies, records, books, etc. I’m mainly there for kids books, and there is a huge selection of them. From baby board books to teenage fiction, they’ve got it all covered. My son loves to read and we go through books pretty quickly, so this place is awesome for us. Love it!

It’s really cool to have a store like this around, as I feel like many stores like it have gone by the wayside. To me, there’s something inherently fun about physically shopping for books, music, movies and all sorts of pop culture stuff. That sounds odd to say, but in a digital world where people shop online all the time now, it seems it may be becoming more and more rare.
You could spend hours in this place. They have books, movies, music (CDs and vinyl), T-​shirts, video games, and fun stuff like buttons and figurines. Since the majority of stuff is used/​pre-​owned, it’s super affordable. Movies cost on average $ 5 – 6, which is a great deal.
New vinyl seems oddly expensive-​one LP, which was a re-​issue/​new pressing of a classic album was $ 50…and it wasn’t even a special edition! $ 50 for a new vinyl album that isn’t a box set or some special edition is pretty absurd. Having said that, there’s a good selection of used vinyl for cheap.
They have video games for pretty much all systems, from classic NES all the way to XBOX 360. They also have used systems (like the Sega Genesis!) and accessories.
So here’s my one big irk with with this place-​since they are constantly getting new things in and adding to the shelves, it is incredibly disorganized. Alphabetical order means next to nothing here, so if you’re in a hurry and need to find something quickly, this might not be the place for you. The books are particularly scattered, and given how many of them there are, it gets really annoying.
Still, 2^nd and Charles has a lot of cool stuff for pretty decent prices, and it’s fun to even just come here and browse.

Only the single coolest store I have been to.
Picture a sizable used book store. Now add a GameStop, which just happens to carry a large collection of old school systems and their attendant games. Now add a large selection of new and used video media (DVD & Blu-​Ray). Now add a music selection the rivals your old corner record store, including a huge selection of vinyl. Oh, and by the way, they have comic books and board games, too.
And, just like a used book store or a GameStop they will but your used stuff for cash or store credit.
