1st Family Dental was founded in 1996. We started with one office, our flagship location at 5333 N. Clark St. in Chicago. Since then we have grown to 11 offices, becoming one of the largest and most successful dental groups in the state of Illinois.

We owe our success to a simple business model — all people deserve excellent care and customer service, in a beautiful setting, at the best prices.

EXCELLENT!!! I had two teeth extracted at this visit and the tech and dentist on my case were the BEST! The tech made me feel so comfortable… like we were old time chums! The dentist was so gentle from beginning to end (well, as gentle as one can be for an extraction, lol) He even starting singing along to the song I was humming during the procedure to take my mind off the pressure I was feeling. It went quite fast! All I can say is I came in as a referral from my original dental office, but I am staying as a regular patient. I also appreciate the «save the date» emails for upcoming appointments.

Impressed from the moment I walked in all the way until I left with my recommend treatment plan. Kim my dental hygienists was polynomial to say the least. She greeted me in the waiting room with a big smile on her face. She was very knowledgable and explained things very throughly throughout the cleaning. She made sure I was comfortable and not in any pain. After the cleaning was complete my X-​rays were taken quickly and painlessly. I then met Dr. Sarina and not only is she super nice and make you feel very comfortable, she is extremely knowledgeable as well. Even though I found out that I need to have a root canal, I feel good about going back to her for any procedure. I will definitely recommend Dr. Sarina to my friends and family.

Came here for a cleaning with a $ 39.99 coupon for new patients from the Pomegranate Café next door (also amazing) and I enjoyed it! The office is impressive and modern and their equipment, chairs, TVs, etc are quality and up to date. The dental chairs have a massage option like a pedicure chair which was a nice touch. Dr. Oneid is the dentist who saw me and he was professional, funny, and efficient. I will definitely be returning, even if I may have to pay more next time :)

I was very disappointed from the beginning. my husband and myself both had appointments for a cleaning because it has been years since our last one. My husband was cleaned anddentisttold me I didn’t need one. He kept talking and talking, cracking jokes, not being very professional. By the time we got to our car we saw thedentistwas already in his car leaving. this facility billed my insurance for 4 cleanings when only 1 cleaning was done. This was back in February and we are still dealing with this. What a nightmare. Thedentistthat was saw only works on Thursdays and the billing department could move until speaking with him. They forgot to talk to him about it and then another week had to go by before doing anything. My insurance have been in contact with them and now we have to wait three months for our insurance to get their money back before I can get a cleaning from a reputabledentist. I highly DONOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!

If you are looking for a clean, friendly, modern facility with quality care, this is the place. Dr. Akhikar is very kind, gentle and skilled. His dental hygienists are very friendly and skilled, as well, especially Stephanie.

Follow up from my previous review. The communication issue was resolved and I thank Jessica and Ania for this. Dr. Akhikar is AWESOME! I think everyone hates going to the dentist; however, he is pleasant, efficient which is key, and knows how to put you at ease. I just had my tooth extracted (yeah, makes you love Vicodin) but Dr. Akhikar had me in and out in a good amount of time while providing excellent care. I am surprised that I do not feel as bad as I was planning on feeling as this is my first extraction.
He can also give you a thorough cleaning in 30 minutes and I’m a wimp that usually has to be numbed up well before hand.
If you are a wimp like me when it comes to tooth extraction and root canals, go to Dr. Akhikar. You will not be disappointed. He rocks! Plain and simple.
Also, the office is nice and clean and the assistants are very attentive about keeping the patients face clean throughout every process which is nice because your mouth can make you sick really fast. I can not compliment any place enough that is all about sanitation so that is a huge PLUS.

I have to admit, I love 1st Family Dental! I have been there multiple times over the last 18 months for check-​ups, cleanings, fillings, root canals and crowns. Unfortuantely, I had a lot of work that needed to be done but fortunately, I have been able to get it completed with the best possible care at the best possible prices. My husband/​children also visit this office for dental work and my daughter is under the care of their Ortho as well. The front desk staff, office manager and dentists are awesome but I have to admit, the dental assistants are my favorite… they are so friendly, so caring and have even held my hand as I had a few tears during these major treatments. I would recommend this office/​staff to anyone!

This is a really good dental office because, not only for their expertise, but the affordability. Oh, yea and Saturday appointments!!! I hadn’t been to see a dentist in a while, so when I came into the office with my list of issues Dr. Abboud and his staff were more than accommodating, especially when I mentioned my daughters impending wedding. Smiles…
The one thing I don’t like about going to the dentist is when the dentist and the staff become judgmental, which is why I stop going to the last dentist. Please God don’t let them become this way!

After writing my review about how unhappy I was with my daughter’s visit, I got a message from them. They really impressed me with how much they are trying to make this situation better. It was nice to have a company notice that one of their customers were unhappy. We will try them again and we were very pleased with the communication they gave us. I have high hopes for the next visit.
