Caught a baseball game here recently and enjoyed the experience. The lake is right next to the stadium so it was nice to catch a view of it while driving in. Grabbing tickets was easy. Once inside, the stadium was clean and the staff was friendly. The concessions were good for the most part. Their hot dogs were great, but pulled pork not so much. We sat in the general admission area, which is first come first serve bleachers. There wasn’t a ton of people there so getting seats were easy. I also appreciated that even though the setup was bleachers, they had backs to them for comfort. I really enjoyed catching a game and the views here here.

Lake Olmstead park has a bit of everything. Of course the current Green Jacket baseball stadium is here. But it’s a great park to picnic at along the water or take a walk around the lake. I’ve ran a couple 5k’s here and they were fun as well. The is also the Julian bbq pitt which is an «hut» like building available for events. I’m most often here because it’s a gateway to the Augusta canal trail. Just a short hike to aqueducts or you can take bike ride all the way to Savannah River rapids. You can also kayak and enjoy the lake too. So plenty to do to enjoy the outdoors here :)

I am not a big baseball fan, but these games are a fantastic outlet for the family or/and friends. You better hurry though! The Greenjackets are supposed to more to North Augusta in the near future. You should take advantage of two things: The E-Z Go Salute to Soldiers program(if you are Active Duty or a Veteran) and the Jr. Jackets kids club. The Salute to Soldiers programs provides service members with four(4) box seats and $ 40 in coupons for use in the stadium. The Jr. Jackets club members get to play catch on the field prior to the start of the(home) game, high-five the players when they’re entering the field, and many more activities. Here’s a helpful hint: If you want a game ball, catch one of the foul balls that fly over the awning on the first base side of the stadium.

I always like taking in a few games at the park. Prices are up but not that bad. Its great that they have Sweet water on tap now. In my opinion the best value is on Tuesday. 2 drinks for the price of one. $ 10 for 64 oz of beer with live baseball is impossible to beat. As for the food they serve at the concession, it is alright just a little pricey, I ordered boiled peanuts and they were cold, again early season hiccups. I take away a star because the first few series of the year the staff cant seem to pull it together, ie guy at parking lot thought the entire area was for the orange parking passes opposed to the coned off area they normally have. Otherwise this park is one of the most under utilized attractions in Augusta. Cheaper than a movie ticket, more entertaining than TV, and gets you off the couch.
