Seafood is over priced and was salty, the females are rude but the guy that works there is nice.

I have been trying to get steamed crabs from this place fro two years. Every time I’d call, they’d never had crabs. Instead of driving back to Baltimore this weekend, I decided to give them one more shot. I am glad I did, The carbs were excellent. I was shocked by the size for the price. I am going back tomorrow for another two dozen. The service was good and the steamed crabs were even better. I would definitely recommend this place. as for it not being a nice neighborhood, I found no issues whatsoever. Thanks Crab King for saving me that drive to B’more! The parking lot is pretty beat up, bring your Hummer… :)

Visitors please don’t let the neighborhood discourage you from some of the best and well-seasoned seafood. That garlic butter is divine and makes everything tasty. The seafood is always fresh and NEVER«fishy». That corn on the cob… yum!

Sooooo… I have had Crab King before when I lived in Augusta and mainly that’s the reason I made the decision to ride through Augusta, GA from North Carolina headed to Mobile, AL. Let me add: I currently reside in Oklahoma… So it’s been awhile since I was able to obtain me some Crab King and I really had a taste for some garlic crab legs/shrimp/and oh yes!!! the seasoned corn on the cob. Anywhoooo… What I did NOT like: the hours were not posted ANYWHERE! How would I know that Monday’s were the only days that they opened up at 3pm?(yes I waited around til 3pm for my crab legs) Although it didn’t take me long to get serviced, the doors didn’t open up at exactly 3pm. So on the professional tip… Be more punctual because its a good look and you have customers who drive distances. I did like: that since I last visited, it has now been reorganized and the flow and direction of the counter is much better and it looks clean/fresh and updated. Only giving less than 5 stars for the noted issues, but the food is still the !!! Update the sites with the hours of operation/even consider expanding business outside of Augusta, GA because there is a market for it(Fayetteville — Greensboro, NC/Mobile, AL… They lacking that garlic sauce!!! Tulsa, OK)

My husband and I ate here last night. The food was delicious. The service was great. This was our first time eating here but we will be going back. We had the low country boil, garlic butter crab legs and garlic butter shrimp.

AMBIENCE — D SERVICE — B– FOOD — C PRICE — D This review is for using a Groupon that gave me $ 28.00 for prix-fixe dinner for 2. There’s a reason bars are on this establishment… yes, I wouldn’t normally«eat» in this part of town… but, I’m always willing to give establishments a try I «think» the food is going to be good… catchy name — «Crab King» but there’s nothing«royal» about this place at all. TAKEOUTONLY — So, around 6:00 there were several customers with only one person doing the ordering, cooking, cashiering, and preparation. Wow… superwoman multitasking and handling the flow as best as she could. It does take a while to eventually get your order, but I thought the lady was patient with dealing lackadaisical customers not knowing what they wanted. You’d think if you’d been standing in line for 15 — 30 mins. you’d know what you want by the time it’s ready to order. I see lots of people ordering the fresh shrimp and king crabs… but I think I can buy the crab and shrimp at a super market or fish monger and do a much better job at steaming and serving with my own sauces.(oy vey — the sauces are all small sealed packets!) So, after returning home, I discovered that she forgot to put in my 2 sides(onion rings and fried poppers — which I have no idea what those were since they were omitted) I should have double checked my order before I left. So, the Groupon I paid was $ 13(valued at $ 27.89) this was a pre-fixed menu… — 1 lb. lg. steamed and seasoned shrimp — two side dishes(which I didn’t get) — 6 tiny bacon wrapped scallops — 6 small fried oysters — 2 Sara Lee strawberry shortcake — 2 can sodas The steamed shrimp were over steamed making them a little tough… and the buttery –like substance from a big gallon jug being poured in the cupfuls along with big douses seafood seasoning didn’t look that appetizing. The taste was just okay if you like licking oily seafoody salty substances from your hand. The fried scallops and oysters were just okay… edible, but wouldn’t want to make any efforts to buy these again. My dad liked the strawberry shortcake… at least I think he did, he ate it… ! Would I try this place again? Probably NOT! and, I don’t even think I want to risk going back to have my order corrected … and thank goodness I have a GROUPON, because I’m going to get a refund back for the other GROUPON that feeds 4!
