Ventured into this little place to grab a late night bite. For the price and convenience of their closing time, I would say it didn’t disappoint. I ordered the cook out 5 dollar deals. The chicken strips are really big and crispy. The hush puppies were somewhat dry but at 12 for 99 cents, it wasn’t too bad! I liked the Cajun fries that we got, they were crispy and not too salty. Overall, the burgers are average. and I would come back and try other things on the menu. Simple and affordable! The staff was very nice so that also helped with the visit!

The prices are great. The food is not so great. My husband and I and my mother in law ordered hamburgers we were not impressed. My father in law ordered the bbq plate and he said the meat was mush. Our fries tasted old and were not tasty whatsoever. The environment is better than a typical fast food restaurant. We will not visit here again. Very disappointed

I am a big Steak and Shake fan so I wasn’t planning on eating here ever. Had a guest of mine request it though so I went along and was very pleasantly surprised. The prices are cheaper than Steak and Shake, the inside is nicely decorated. Staff is friendly and efficient. Food is obviously cooked well and has great flavor. I can’t get past how good the prices are. The shakes… Everyone has to go there to try a crazy flavored shake and be won over. Even the craziest favors they have are tasty. A big two thumbs up for this burger joint!

They had the most deplorable service with sub par staff. The food was sub standard and bland. Fix this

One of the best fast food places. Great grill taste on the burgers. The chili dogs are on point. The price is great for what you get and the service has always been fast and friendly.

Cook out is amazing, I come here every time I get. The food is inexpensive and taste great on average I pay $ 5 for a meal. This location has a drive through and a place to eat inside. The service is fast and the workers are very kind. I’m one satisfied customer.

Fries are awful, burger was great and the shakes are delicious. If you like to be able to drink your shakes, this place may not be for you. Definitely needed the spoon for all of the fruit chunks that don’t fit through a straw. The fries would have been better if their fryer grease were fresh. Dark orange is not the correct color for a french fry. I was happy with the burger. Nice flavor, tasty bacon. I’ll go back for the burgers. …and the prices. $ 8 for a combo with a shake is a good deal.

The food is pretty cheap and decent for what you’re paying. Better than a lot of fast food I’ve had of the years. The service is pretty fast too but the main reason for stopping here has to be the shakes. There’s just over 40 flavors and they are only about $ 3 which is better than you find for the same quality elsewhere.

Had to wait 30mins for our order. Maybe it’s just one of those days! I been eating cookout for years, this is the worst I’ve visited.

Polite and fast service. Product — burger was fresh and hot. Fries however tasted and looked like they had been cooked 8 hours before. However I marked it up for the service and burger.

I was surprised to get in and out as fast as I did. Usually the line is ridiculously long. I ordered the cookout tray and it was okay but satisfying for a $ 5 plate. I wish they offered the customers condiments because I totally forgot to ask for them myself. I did receive great customer service and I can’t wait to go back and try the other meals they offer. By the way my meal did include a drink and I ordered a sweet tea.

I usually get the cook out tray whenever I come here. I think you get a good variety for the price. I’ll usually get a chicken quesadilla, fries, and a ranch chicken wrap with whatever drink I’m feeling that day(coke float or oreo milkshake). I’m never really disappointed after I changed my order to mainly being what I listed above because my first experience here I ordered a bbq chargrilled chicken burger and it wasn’t thoroughly cooked, I was disgusted and I threw it away! Also a plastic bag would be helpful whenever we order food to-go lol!

The service here is very fast, especially drive through! I always get the cookout tray which is an excellent deal for a good price. The burgers are good & all the vegetables they put on it seem to be very fresh. The staff are very nice & deliver excellent service. You can come in order, then they’ll call your number out which is on a receipt when your order is ready. This is a good place to eat at if you’re on a budget & want a good portion of food.

Just OK — the CookOut in Atlanta always has lines around the building, so I was keen to see what the fuss was about in the substantially less crowded Augusta location. I can’t see what the fuss is all about. Burger was OK — a step up for MCDonalds or BK, but not on a par with somewhere like five guys. meat was fairly bland and the toppings were slapped on with little care. I got pretty much an entire onion on my burger. Chilli cheese fries were a disappointment — the fries were ok, but the chilli and cheese were not. Chilli was just meh and the cheez-wiz type substance on top was plastic tasting and gloopy. The shake WAS good — Heath Toffee — the ice cream was not too sweet and it was just what I needed to take away the taste of the Cheez-wiz.(+1 star) BUT the oppressive Christian Rock Music(YES! Jesus is my Lord! I will follow Him!) was just too much for this poor agnostic(–1 star).

Good and cheap! Tastes like you went to a cookout… a good one. Best milkshakes! The hubs and I both get full meal including drinks for around $ 12.

This place was pretty cool, I don’t know many places that have entrée items on the side menu. The barbecue chicken sandwich was really good as was the Cherrywine float. My kids ate like they had been starved, I never seen good consumed that fast. Lol. I will be back next year on my way back to OBX.

Good and cheap. BBQ melts in your mouth and I prefer it without the sauce. If there was a half dollar symbol..

Welcome to Cook Out, where you feel like you’re camping… but not really. This place is cheap, easy and fast with an emphasis on service. — TRAY is the best deal $ 4.69 — High-quality ingredients(real chicken & fresh beef) — Fruit milkshake mix-ins are made from actual fresh fruit — 46 different milkshakes — FAST food — Clean location — Plenty of parking — PACKED due to opening Want cheap fast food? You can snag a hot dog, BLT or 12 hush puppies for 99 cents. There are literally 40 different shakes that you can get PLUS a Coke Float and a CHEERWINE Float! If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can get a tray for $ 4.69 which can easily feed two not very hungry people. Check out my photo for the options. Overall this place had a nice feel, friendly staff and offered some great choices for the price. I’d take them over McDonalds any time, although I’m not a huge fast food person to begin with.

I came across the 1st location last fall downtown on Walton Way and fell for the burgers and onion rings but this new on Jimmy Dyess Pkwy has inside seating and is at a prime location right near I-20. Service is fast and pleasant with a self serve soda station plenty of seats as well as booths for large crowds. It also has the drive thru with a simple menu but once you try this place you will be a master at putting together your meals and the kids menu is a real snap with hot dogs starting at .99 cents. The slaw dogs and chili dogs are really great

The food here is ½ a step better then cafeteria food. I ordered a bacon side, onion rings, and a hamburger with cheese. The bacon wrap seemed like a random assortment of leftovers put together(tortilla, cheese, and bacon). The onion rings were ok. The burger was soggy and could barely be called food. The only reason they have 2 stars is because the prices are extremely low, and the staff were very professional.
