BEST WESTERN PLUS Augusta Civic Center Inn

Stayed here for one night. Hotel was surprisingly pleasant. No musty smells. The non-​smoking rooms actually smelled clean and not smoked in – ventilation from smoking rooms did not overlap into ours. Seemed quite clean. Happy to have a refrigerator and microwave as we usually travel with snacks or meals. Happy there were ample and accessible plugs to charge stuff.
Room was fairly quiet except the adjoining room door was really thin. We could hear our neighbors’ tv and voices easily and they were not being particularly loud. Luckily they were were not talking and watching too late.
Low rating is due to seeing my first hotel cockroach. Eww. Currently pregnant and up many times in the middle of the night to use the restroom. That’s when and where I encountered the little guy. I would have grabbed my phone to document but was way too tired and just flushed him. Needless to say, felt creeped out the rest of our stay but I’d rather see a single roach than catch bedbugs.
Thanks to our little friend, we stayed away from the food in the morning. Hubby was not impressed with how the food looked bug problem or no bug problem.

This hotel was one of the best I have stayed in a while. The room was clean and modern. The front desk was helpful and very polite. I would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone needing a good hotel close to I-​95. Plus it has a pool!

My experience with Best Western in the past has not been great. The Civic Center Inn was not like this. The room was large, very clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. The Wi Fi was great, unlike most hotels. The bathroom was large, and had a great shower. They even had travel size mouthwash along with decent sized soaps and shampoo, not the tiny ones most places have. Heat worked well and the TV had a good selection of channels. One thing I liked was the dual USB port chargers, an appreciated feature in this electronic world.
My only non positive comment concerns the breakfast. But it’s a hotel, not a restaurant so my star rating is based on the hotel, not the food service. The breakfast is the usual hotel crappy omelets, paper thin tasteless bacon, make your own waffles etc, etc, All on plastic plates with plastic utensils. Nothing you would ever pay for.
I would suggest staying here, but getting breakfast elsewhere.

I do quite a bit of traveling so I end up in motels and inns quite a bit and know by now exactly what I’m looking for.
I am usually so worn out and tired from traveling that all I really need is a clean, cozy and cheap place to shower and crash into bed. Anything more than that I just consider frosting on the cake.
This Best Western is more than what I usually look for but the price and location was so attractive that it turned out to be perfect. I didn’t need the conference room, breakfast area or exercise equipment but it certainly didn’t get in the way.
The actually room was decent size with comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, and even a little micro wave and refrigerator. I don’t believe I even turned on the TV. The wifi that worked well was nice. So many motels advertise free wifi but it frequently turns out to be unreliable at best.
My idea of a five star motel is probably a whole lot different from most people. This place had everything I needed which means it was as good as it gets, at least for me.
Cheap, quiet, clean, comfy, pleasant, with nice beds, good bathroom and efficient staff. Nothing fancy or extravagant. Just a great place to spend the night and rest up on the way to somewhere else.

(score 1 – 100) –45. I’ve stayed here multiple times because of the great rate I get on expedia. They typically will have rooms around 90 dollars or less with breakfast and wifi. The rooms are ok but not new. They are clean but look like they will need to be refreshed soon. The breakfast is not even close to the corporate breakfasts that you typically see at the Hiltons or Marriot Residence Inns that are kind of standard. Milk is in a 1 Gallon container on the counter, cereal, and a few bagels. Almost no warm foods. It just looks like the breakfast has no care and was thrown together or just pulled out of someone’s refrigerator last second.

Near a shopping center with restaurants and a lot of main stream stores so that was nice. The bed was decently comfortable but the room was very small. Overall a decent place to stay. Free Wifi free parking.
