The Treehouse

Excellent local mom and pop coffee shop. Very warm feel with an excellent selection of drinks and food.

Unfortunately, everything I purchased needs to be heated up… Monkey bread is hard as a rock and coffee is borderline cold (I ordered a red eye). I’ve been here a few times hoping for it to be great since it has everything else going for it — décor & vibe is on point (I thought I died and had gone to heaven when I had a whiff of the pumpkin scent today), but unfortunately, neither time had left me even satisfied.

This is a charming little coffee shop in the middle of downtown Audubon.
I think charming is the best word to describe this place. The furniture is mismatched, there are books everywhere for you to read, and the chair legs have old tennis balls stuffed on the bottoms of them.
The staff is always friendly. They’re happy to accommodate if you want to modify something on the menu.
Sometimes I come here just for coffee, and sometimes I order food. The coffee is good, and they have plenty of tea options if you don’t like coffee. I recently ordered the chicken salad for lunch. It was tasty and filling. Treehouse has plenty of healthy options plus vegetarian and vegan options if you don’t eat animal products. I try to eat relatively healthy when I go out, so this place gets an A for healthy options. (If you’re not into health food, don’t worry. There’s plenty here for you, too.)
The noise levels here are always reasonable. They play music, but it’s not too loud. Most of the folks in here during the week are here to work, so the place is quiet.
I don’t live in NJ/​Philly anymore, but when I come back to visit, I go to Treehouse when I need to get work done.

Really nice vibe! A Christian owned coffee shop, comfy and cozy! Plenty of books to read, right there in the café.
Stopped in with a friend of mine and enjoyed a latte and sandwich.
My son enjoyed a home made brownie. Of course, I stole a bite, ya know just to make sure they’re not poison (an inside joke I have with my son, allowing me to steal bites for motherly sake). The brownie was excellent.
It had a nice cozy vibe, friendly staff, and the place was hip, and clean!

Such an adorable little place. Great coffee and a nice selection of teas. Beautiful and tasty selection of pastry (our group got a few and shared). They also have soups, salads, sandwiches and other savories on the menu.
The atmosphere was very relaxed and cozy. They even have a little corner filled. with kids books and toys (which is cool but i made sure to wipe down my littles hands after she played… because germs).

I really love this place. I work from home sometimes instead of trudging into Philadelphia, and when I do I almost always walk to Treehouse in the morning to do so. They have hot and cold breakfasts, and I’m pretty obsessed with/​will break my diet for their cinnamon chip scone and a soy latte.
Very adorable, homey ambiance, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Just tried their gluten free banana cocoa muffin today (on the recommendation of an excited patron behind me) and it was fantastic-​moist, dense, flavorful.
Only caveat for the working crowd-​can get noisy during the lunch times because it’s such a kid-​friendly shop and they serve lunch and snacks

I went for the first time, and I was unsure of what to expect. I’ve been searching for a coffee house near my town (to hang with friends or just study), but I’ve failed to find one that I would consider «welcoming.» I absolutely love it, and I think that the pricing for the drinks are reasonable because I’ve visited coffee shops that have similar pricing. The employees are very nice and helpful to answer any questions. The set up gives a «home» atmosphere. There is music provided, and it isn’t too loud or too low. Tables are spread out which is another plus because I wouldn’t want to feel like people are eavesdropping!

The Treehouse succeeds on so many levels. I go there all the time to study, curling up in a comfy chair. I like the background noise, plus the menu is plenty varied. Will it be a monkey bread day (yes, always) or a roasted turkey panini day? Maybe a huge bowl of hummus instead. I’ve never been disappointed with their food or baked goods.
The café, as others have noted, is also funky and it’s a great non-​generic place to take people for coffee or a quick bite.
But beyond all that, Treehouse is a great place for a private party. The people who work there are incredibly helpful, flexible and pleasant. My family has held 2 parties there now. During the latest, Tina was very patient and helped us come up with contingency plans when it looked like we’d go way over on the guest list. Then when an ice storm hit and half the guests had to cancel, she reworked things for us again. The staff let us stay longer than planned and made sure everything ran so smoothly even during a crazy evening.
Treehouse shuts down the café for your party and has a bunch of different themes and menus to choose from. Unlike many private event spaces, you don’t pay per head, which is great for flexibility.
I always look forward to visiting Treehouse on my own or at the Collingswood Farmers Market — I’m glad I can support a family-​owned business that really cares about customers.

Amongst the caffeine induced masses lays this subtle little coffee house. Featuring many forms of toys and entertainment for those seeking other means of attention, the Mrs. and I chose a more traditional route by selecting non-​traditional beverages. The Snowflake delivered us a white-​chocolate peppermint latte only made stranger by my wife’s choice of soy milk making it a. Soyflake?! Snoyflake…
Since this was our second trip to the Treehouse, I can confidentially say that I’ve added their namesake to my repertoire of unique, highly recommended coffee beverages. A latte with a shot of maple syrup?! What?!? Yes, quite strange indeed but also oddly enjoyable. No other sweetener needed when it is provided naturally by the succulent nectar that is pure maple syrup. No Aunt Jemima or Log Cabin here folks, just good old fashioned amber juice to help kickstart another day in the cold.

I like this place a lot, I wish it was closer because I’d walk to it a few times a week if I did. All the baked goods are made on premises. And they’re tasty. They also have vegetarian and vegan options too.
It has the bohemian vibe which I’m all about. And the décor and furniture is missing matched which I LOVE because it gives it that comphy feel at home vibe. They also have many books too to pick from. Very family, kids are welcomed with open arms.

I can’t say my visit was pleasant. Treehouse Coffee Shop seems, oddly enough, to be a place where slews of mothers unleash their hyperactive and ill mannered children upon the masses.
I was hoping to enjoy a book over a cup of coffee and a homemade bagel (which was pretty good!). Unfortunately there were too many unruly children running through the café throwing toys while their negligent mothers loudly gossiped over the chaos.

Right when I walk in I decide I’m going to like it at the coffee house. Not so much because of the food but because it’s one of few funky café styled places that South Jersey has hidden away. It has the bohemian style that I adore. To the right of me is a display case of baked goods (muffins, scones, brownies, ect…) and a clutter of individual sized candies. To the left is a small stage where local entertainers perform and the store’s random miscellaneous take home goods (tshirts, coffee to go, etc…). Commonly I see cramped coffee places but when I walk in I feel like it’s less of the grab and go coffee joint.
On the menu the breakfast looks the most appealing with various forms of morning sandwiches or wraps. Instead of breakfast, I go for a lunch wrap and veggie burger with one drink for about $ 13. My order is ready in roughly 10 minutes and my date and I split up our meal.
Immediately I know I’m going to like the wrap: fresh cucumber, vegan mayo, lettuce and filled with veggies. On the other hand, I’m insanely disappointed by the vegan burger because the patty tastes like what I can only best describe as a salty tire. It’s crusty, overdone, has too much salt and nothing tasty about it. The focaccia bread is thick and filling but slightly stale. It’s not the lettuce, the raw onion or tomatoes but the patty is sadly and indescribably bad.
Naturally, there is more to order and try out: a long list of coffee styles, salads, a few other lunch styled sandwiches, homemade jars of peanut butter, 50’s styled soda (bottled), power bars, trail mix and a bunch of desserts.
The setting is uniquely special with a homely feeling and smiling young baristas. Books and quirky signs fill the walls to give an earthy vibe. Friday night seems more teen friendly but adults are scattered along the area as well. Regulars seem to line up frequently for the caffeine fix and the café goes from a peaceful calm to a roaring hot spot of teenagers. I can’t help but think how cool it is that they have a fun hang out but with all that coffee, there’s definitely no chance anyone is going home tired.

Great atmosphere. I got a latte and the J-​Rod, It was delicious. I will be returning to try out more coffee such as the frozen drinks and the espresso.

I don’t know how I survived before I moved to the area and started coming here on a daily basis! Great coffee and beverages, awesome food (vegan options!), and a relaxing atmosphere make this place what is is.

I was Unilocaling nearby coffee places to meet up with a friend and stumbled upon The Tree House.
The Tree House is a step above your standard Mom and Pop coffee shop that specializes in fair trade and organic coffee. I thought it was odd that the coffee is served in paper cups, even though I was not taking my coffee to go. I ordered a Café Au Lait and the barrista served me my steamed milk in the paper cup and I chose the Sumatra coffee at the coffee bar. I noticed at the coffee bar are about 40 different mugs, so maybe if you want your coffee in a mug you choose one from here? There are plenty of coffee, latte and chilled drinks available.
The Tree House has a small menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Also available are vegan and gluten free pastries, not something you see at your average coffee house.
Some Unilocalers complained about the amount of children. Luckily for me, I came on a Saturday afternoon and although the coffee house consistently had about 10 people in it, none of those people were children or housewives. I can definitely see how a place like this would attract mothers. As I was sitting at a table next to the window waiting for my friend I browsed the book selection and every other book was about being pregnant, being a mother, tips for breastfeeding and how to get your newborn into a sleep pattern. Not my ideal reading material although some of the titles made me laugh. Next time I think I’ll drop off a copy of «Why Men Love Bitches» for the single ladies hanging out at the coffee shop.

The coffee is okay. The food is much better. I have had some of the breakfast items; burrito, quiche, as well as a variety of baked goods.

Treehouse Coffee Shop is the reincarnation of the Treehouse Café in Collingswood. I was mightily disappointed when they shut down, and obviously they did a poor job communicating their relocation 4 yrs ago to Audubon.
The Café was 4-​star, minus a star only for (a) mediocre local music performed inside and (b) some inexplicable religious undertone.
The Coffee Shop, however, earns just 3 stars. I rediscovered the ghost when I finally realized that place I was buying iced mochas from at the Collingswood Farmers Market was, in fact, Treehouse. I went all starry-​eyed, and not from the heat.
Quickly my adolescent belief that they grew foody things on their roof in Collingswood and even occassionally let a goat roam free up there was dashed with a chuckle. ‘Twas only a joke on their website in response to an uppity old lady yrs ago.
Nonetheless, my schoolhood friend and I, now in our twenties, ventured forth the next day to see how the Coffee Shop stood up to our glorified memories. Not too shabby, but sort of. Very DIY in a PC, family friendly, sucked-​dry-​of-​personality way.
But they make a mean breakfast wrap, and a tasty ice mocha in-​house and out. And, yeah, for $ 11 it sounds overpriced. But my breakfast wrap was huge, and the comics I found taped in the bathroom were amusing. The guys at the counter were quite pleasant.
So, yeah, the pregnancy and baby books along the ledge next to our table bothered me a bit. Unfortunately it sounds like they’re smartly catering to their clientele. In a few days, Treehouse is hosting an urban farming discussion event, so I’ll try it out and see what kind of crowd it draws.
For a place plopped on a half-​dead main street, Treehouse seems to do, look, & taste okay.
