I had heard great things about this place, but when the heck does anyone actually ever get out to Auburn? I finally was out there for a Christmas thing and decided to stop by on my way back and check this place out. First thing I noticed was that the place is apparently going out of business and people were running around like crazy selecting items. Clothing was literally strewn everywhere, there were tons of people in the store, and the checkout line was insanely long. I thought it was probably a bummer that the store was closing since it appeared to be so popular, but I was wrong… …the clothes here suck! I tried on clothing from SJP’s boringly dull line and every piece I tried on was either A) way too small or B) fit very oddly. Plus the clothing was so blahh… I practically yawned at the choices. I tried on clothing from Amanda Bynes’ line(I think she is adorable, so I figured what the hell), but I sort of realized later that it appears to be targeted at teens. Plus nothing I tried on fit me whatsoever. I tried on some other stuff, not from specific celebrity line, and it was all far too small! I would not say that I am fat by any means, so I am confused as to why my size 6 self could not fit into 99% of the clothes I tried on… even when I selected larger sizes they were still too small. After having wasted too much time picking things out and too much time in the dressing room cursing myself in the mirror, I had to get the hell out of this place. I was majorly disappointed with my experience and I guess I personally don’t care that S&B is going out of business because I’ll never shop there again! …I guess this review is giving S&B one star for the low, low prices they have.

This place was awesome. My sister-in-law and I went shopping on Friday and she said she wanted to pop in here for some jeans. I had no idea this place existed. I guess they have celebrity clothing lines. Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the most featured in the store for her clothing line called Bitten. I was bitten by the spending bug. Almost everything in the store is under $ 20. Jeans for $ 12, tops starting at $ 9. They have Tennis shoes by one of the Williams sisters for $ 12. Had to get a pair of the pink and white ones. They have clothes for women, men and kids. Great quality better than Old Navy or those types of places. I left with a bunch of graphic tees. They are only $ 5. It was hard to chose they were all favorites. Some options for graphic T-shirts: 1. the classic«I’m with stupid» 2. pink Tee with«Pink Ladies» 3. I am a virgin this is an old shirt 4. A picture of a bride and groom cutting a cake with the words«big mistake» written underneath 5. The tootsie pop owl pictured with«how many licks does it take» written on it 6. The man, the legend with arrows 7. Rock Star These are only a few that I can remember all for $ 5. They have them in long and short sleeves. Worth the trip out to shop here.

I wish it was possible to give more than five stars! Maybe because I am a HUGE Sarah Jessica Parker fan or maybe due to the fact that I am tired of being over charged for clothes and accessories that I know have at least a 300% mark-up. I heard about the new Bitten line of clothing being released this summer through the grape vine and after checking it out online and seeing that there was some pretty cute stuff I had to take a look in person. I was only moderately impressed by the website but frankly blown away by the line itself in person. I felt like I was doing something wrong by the loads of clothes I was buying and each piece was under $ 20! I asked one of the sales girls, whom are still learning in this store so I gave them a break, if it was really true… everything is under $ 20? «Uh, Yeah.» she replied. Ok, so with the cost of everything going up and my salary not keeping up with that same trend I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to brag up this store. Their stuff is way cute and not to mention looks great on everyone! They took into consideration the cut of everything and how women would feel when they wore the different pieces. Sizes 2−22… I mean who does that! Thank You Sarah Jessica you size 0 you! :) I might add as a motivator here that if you have been considering not buying clothes until you«get to that size» knock it off right now and get into this store. The prices are so cheap you now have an excuse to look cute right now. Lastly I want to leave you with this thought… When was the last time you bought a pair of jeans for $ 15 dollars that made you trunk look this awesome? … if never then you haven’t been to Steve & Barry’s. (I felt the need to update this review just a tad. While I am still a huge SJP fan and enjoy the line that I have purchased and viewed online, I have had three or four of the worst experiences at the Auburn Super mall that I have ever had in any retail location EVER! I am even taking Value Village and Ross into consideration. The staff doesn’t care to help or clean. The piles of clothes are infuriating to dig through. I actually called ahead to see if they had gotten any new shipments and the sales girl actually told me that they get shipments on Thursday’s but they don’t get around to putting anything out until Sunday or later sometimes. ARGH! I don’t want people to loose faith in the place but this location really needs to get their act together. I am tired of wasting my time driving all of the way to Auburn only to be disappointed yet again. If their staff doesn’t care enough to put the clothes out for purchase then I will only be calling to see if there is anything new rather than wasting my time.)
