Oil Changes include visual inspections in the engine compartment an the undercarriage.

History

Established in 1980.

The SpeeDee story begins in December 1980 when the first SpeeDee Oil Change location was opened in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans. At that time, the number of automotive service stations was declining as more and more corner gas stations went the way of self-​serve mini marts. SpeeDee’s goal was to answer the increasing need for oil change services during a decline in service locations.

For the next two years, the SpeeDee concept was further developed into a quick lube and automotive tune-​up service station. In 1982, more services were added and the company became SpeeDee Oil Change & Tune-​Up. Shortly thereafter, SpeeDee began offering franchises.

Sophisticated advances in automotive engineering continued to make dealing with the technology increasingly difficult for the do-​it-​yourselfer. In 1994, SpeeDee added complete brake service and now has grown to a full-​service auto maintenance and repair facility.

Manager

Aaron has been with this shop since 1991. He received his Smog Technician License and ASE certification in 1994, and he recently completed his AA Degree at Sierra College in Business Administration. He is responsible for the overall operation of the Auburn SpeeDee Oil Change & Tune Up.

Wow! Again, fantastic customer service! I had just called to ask if they replace headlights on my 2001 Honda Accord, they said they did and suggested to go get the specific parts for my car. I did and stopped by their shop, and in less than 5 minutes he was done! He remembered that I called and didn’t even think of charging me for his time! I know it’s probably the most simple thing to replace, but wow! I recommend this place to anyone! Thank you to Jason for taking my call! Made my day for doing something so little, it made a big difference to me.

I’m sorry but this company does not get any stars. II They are so unprofessional and treated me less than human… If your a women or just a nice person who’s looking to have her car serviced stay away from this outfit!!! They called me a «Frickin Bitch» after he saw the sticker from another speed lube in Folsom, stated it was over the 10,000 mile mark, since my last oil change. I went on to explain and he said oh sure it is… went on and on belittling me, then he walked away and signaled me to move my car in and then, as I was pulling up, I was just going to ask them if they’re wanted to drive it in or shall I. and that’s when I heard him say to another mechanic… I was a «Frickin Bitch»… I could’t believe my ears, I was in shock and went over in my mind. really what did I do to cause that reaction. He my of had a bad day… but taking it out on me… no excuse!!!

All of the workers stand around and chat. This provides a less than ideal picture of professionalism. In fact the front desk worker stays in the bay and chats with the guys. Again, this is not professional.
The workers are definitely trained to cross-​sell additional services and products.
Pricing wasn’t great but not the worst.

Decent place for a oil change. Had hidden GoPro video record them. They did what they said they’d do so I trust them. GoPro was properly hidden. Only reason for 4 stars is they are a bit on the slow side, be patient, they do it right.

Passing through town on a road trip and needed an oil change and tire rotation. I stopped somewhere else closer to my motel but they were unable to do it and referred me here.
The man who was helping me was pleasant and had great customer service. The whole process only took about ½ an hour which is great.
I read the reviews while waiting and was a bit apprehensive at that point, but my car came back in perfect condition and they didn’t try to up sale me on anything. No telling me my air filter needed replacing or that anything was wrong with my car. In fact if anything they were overly honest. I told them I wanted a tire rotation ($ 20 extra) and they let me know I didn’t need it (I have new tires on the car I just had put on before we started our trip). I let him know I wanted it anyways as I want it done with each oil change and he said no problem and added it to the list of items to be done.

Not a good place to get your oil changed. They left my power steering cap off when I took my truck in to get a tune up. I noticed it a few days later and went back to get it and they no longer had it. I can’t trust a place to do a good job on my engine when they can’t even be decent enough to put a cap back on. C’mon guys you can do better than that. Would rather have spent $ 40 ++ on a place that would have done a good job. Now I’m out $ 36 for a new cap.

Pretty decent for an oil change. I was hesitant after reading the reviews. But the customer service was fine and so was the fee (31 bucks with a 7 dollar coupon). I wasn’t asked to buy anything that wasn’t needed. 4⁄5 stars just because there is always room for improvement.

I have been coming here for my oil changes for a couple years, and plan to keep coming here. I am always greeted with a smile, even when they are very busy my car is done quickly. I feel free to ask them any questions that I may have. And what I appreciate the most is that the employee’s have always been very curtious.

This is a follow-​up to my previous negative review. The Manager, Aaron, of this SpeeDee called today after reading my initial post. He was very apologetic and asked lots of questions to try to understand what actually occurred on my visit.
I give him credit for calling; a business’ reputation is a BIG DEAL!
He offered to do anything he could to gain my trust. He told me that their technicians are trained to follow manufacturers’ recommendations and that he would be following up in-​house about this situation to make sure it does not happen in the future.
I am giving them a 3-​star rating now assuming their issues will be addressed AND due to Aaron’s bothering to call me. Perhaps another visit to them will allow me to give an even higher rating.
Also, my other mechanic in Greenwood said they had never heard anything negative about this SpeeDee, such as stripping an oil pan plug or causing any other damage. That is in their favor!

Poor Customer Satisfaction!
I was parked waiting for an oil change, next in line, when I thought of having lunch while the work was being done. Another car drove up when I was talking to him, they seemed to know each other. I went to grab a bite, came back about 30 mins later, the car that came in after me was on the rack finishing up his oil change and I was still parked in line.
The manager didn’t seem to care much, gave me $ 10 off synthetic blend change, when I showed my coupon for $ 8 off the manager said one or the other. I’ll never go back and would not recommend, don’t trust if you’re not watching them.

I got my oil changed here a couple weeks ago, the service took 50 minutes and when I I was paying the tech took me aside and gave me a list of things I «needed» to have done to the car. The amount of money they wanted to «fix» it was well over $ 1000. I politely declined and paid for my oil change and left. I showed the list of «problems» to my uncle and he said it was a bunch of bs and they were trying to scam me. I agreed and it was out of my mind, UNTIL my car broke down a couple nights ago. The transmission went out and when we checked the fluid to see if I had let it get low it turned out that there was OIL, yes OIL, in the area for transmission fluid. We took the car to R&J Automotive (which I highly recommend) the next day and my uncle asked the mechanic to check the tranny fluid, sure enough Spee Dee’s had not only filled my transmission with oil but had overflowed it. Long story short, I took my car in to get the oil changed and now I have a broken down car that’s going to cost $ 2500+ to fix. Please for the sake of your car and your wallet, AVOID this place at all costs.

If you’re into hard selling for overpriced (and oftentimes unnecessary) parts, SpeeDee is the place to go! My husband took our car there last week for an oil change and the technician not only tried to sell him a service that wasn’t necessary, he didn’t screw on the oil cap! I’m no car expert but that seems like a rookie move! I called to speak with the manager but he was at lunch; the guy that helped me said it’s a common mistake because «we do over 80 cars a day». I guess with a name like «SpeeDee» I should have expected speed over quality. Also, the manager never called me back. Let’s see… careless technicians and lousy customer service? I’ll pass!

Well they said they could repair my car. They charged me $ 90 for a diagnostic fee to tell me they could not fix it. Oil changes involve hard selling on overpriced filters and lubricants.
The guy who checked me in was rude and condescending. Get your oil changed anywhere else.

Our family has used this place many times. this will be our last.
I took my car ca in to be smogged and oil, changed and the service light came on, so They did everything and I paid, but they told me to turn it off the light and return in 100 miles. Which I did.
Wen I did return I was next in line and should of been quick, but it too them over 1 hour an 20 min, they even parked my car to the side so they could do other people. I asked why it was taking so long and I think they realized they had for gotten me. They got the car right out.
My car was losing oil we took it to someone else and this place noticed that the last oil change didn’t screw the cap back on.

I have been to speedy so many times and never had an issue. When I arrived to get my trucks oil changed I explained to the tech that Iwas going out of town and to please check the air pressure, fluids etc… I know they are suppose to do this, but just wanted to clarify. When we left, I noticed the truck starting to shake. It has never done this before. I got about a half a block and it was shaking so badly that I pulled over and called speedy. They sent a tech over and asked me to drive it back to the station. The truck was in the bay for about a half an hour when he said he need to run some test, the first test was for diagnostics which would run me $ 99.99. I called my husband who is a mechanic but refuses to do my oil changes. He said NO WAY, get the heck outta there — they are trying to scam you. He told me to tell them I would take it to the dealership instead. They kept insisting that I do the diagnostics. I told them I was going to the dealership. Another half hour later, I was able to drive away. Car perfect. Engine light on, but, In perfect the way it was before I got there. Went by the dealership and talked to my friend that works in parts. He told me it is pretty much one the oldest tricks in the books. Losen a spark plug — undo the AC hose… they know you’ll be back — but guess what — NOT ME!

I had a great experience. They were cheap and fast. I took my other car there after some other shop did the oil change, and the «change your oil» light kept going off. Speedee people used a little trick to reset the mileage counter in the car free of charge. I’ll be going back.
