History

Established in 2005.

Placer Community Foundation was founded as a private foundation in 1948 and was restructured by the board of directors in 2005 to support its mission of growing local giving to benefit our community. Janice Forbes, a native of Auburn, was the Founding Chairman of the Board of Directors for Placer Community Foundation. The Foundation serves people and nonprofit organizations in communities throughout Placer County. The combined assets of the Foundation and its supporting organization are $ 11 million.

Meet the Manager

Veronica B.

Manager

As Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Veronica uses her knowledge of Placer County’s nonprofit sector to connect the charitable interests of donors with needs in the community. She serves as the primary liaison with the board of directors and all committees, directs all asset development activities and manages the internal operations of the Community Foundation.

Veronica is a champion of community philanthropy, and of community foundation leadership. She is a senior fellow of American Leadership Forum Mountain Valley Chapter, serves on the Economic Development Board for Placer County and serves as a board member for Valley Vision, an «action» tank in the Sacramento Region. She has over 20 years’ executive-​level management experience, 17 of which has been in the non-​profit sector. Prior to joining the Placer Community Foundation, she served as the Executive Director for both the Placer SPCA and the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Foundation.
