Specialties
At Longevita Pilates and Yoga Studio our mission is to bring positive change to each individual through Pilates, Yoga, Hot Yoga, Barre, and other fitness regimes despite their current physical abilities or age. We want to enable our clients to find the best balance of strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. This balance of mind and body allows our clients to improve their lifestyles and achieve their goals, be it fitness or rehabilitation with life changing results.
We focus on functional fitness that will compliment any activity or fitness program/goals. Along with Pilates training, we feature exercises that mimic natural movements by combining strength, balance, and core in a way that typically leads to better muscular balance and joint stability. By incorporating Pilates and other fitness regimes, this can help our clients improve their cardiovascular fitness, lose weight, and continue rehabilitating after an injury. We also specialize in Pre Natal and Post Natal Pilates and Yoga.
We offer all types of Yoga and Hot Yoga such as Hatha Yoga, where there will most likely be a lot of breath work, i.e., pranayama, as well an introduction to a variety of poses, and slow and gentle movements. Hatha is also great to wind down with in the evening after a long day of work.
Vinyasa Yoga, are for those that are looking for movement, with a variety of always changing poses.
History
Established in 2012.
Shelia was first drawn to Pilates because of its fluidity and the invigorated feeling after each class and through her own Pilates practice. She noticed a deeper awareness of her body’s movement patterns along with improved strength and posture. In addition, because of previous low back issues her back is now stronger and flexible. This change had such a dramatic effect on her that it inspired her to study Pilates and the human body further. She decided she wanted to teach Pilates so that she could help others feel similar benefits, which led to Longevita Pilates Studio opening in 2012.
