La Quinta Inn Auburn Worcester

I don’t think that one can expect too much when it comes to the normal rated 2 star hotel. It came as expected for the price that we paid for the room but there were a couple of perks that came with this hotel.
First we have a dog that travels with us so, I needed a room that was pet friendly and this was the first one in the area that did not have a non-​refundable deposit per night that you are staying. As a matter of fact they had no pet deposit whatsoever.
They had a pretty decent intercontinental breakfast, nothing spectacular but enough to feed the family with boiled eggs, waffles and bagels and cream cheese so that is a plus because I have stayed at less priced rooms that don’t have anything but a muffin.
The beds were very comfortable in the room (we had a king size bed and a pull out sleeper in the couch for our 11 year old.
Now to some of the reasons why it only got three stars … The staff behind the desk had about as much personality as the desk itself where they almost seemed annoyed that I was coming in to check into the hotel (you could tell that they just didn’t want to be there on a Saturday night)
Next was one thing I didn’t think of was the fact that when you stay at a low cost hotel, your partygoers also go for the cheaper room to have fun with … As we walked into the hotel back entrance with our dog, it let’s rally smelled of wacky tobacky throughout the hallways where it was so heavy I could see the smog on each floor. This is not a good experience to walk into the hotel and you would think they would investigate this in a non smoking hotel.
Then there was the noise all around. In the hotel from room to room, the traffic outside and just overall. So, next time I am coming through Auburn I will fork over this cashola for a higher end hotel to pay for those little things like good customer service and might rule out the riff raff.
One good thing is it walking distance to Outback Steakhouse and the mall.

Stayed here for a few nights last week and have to say we were extremely pleased with everything. One of the weirdest pluses, is that out every place I’ve stayed, this is the only place that has had absolutely flawless wi-​fi, cable, AND television set. Normally, one or even all three are wonky. Not here though. Super quick wi-​fi, fantastic HD television, and cable that wasn’t some wonky setup of their own creation.
The rooms are nice and clean, and just different enough to make you feel as though you aren’t staying in a budget place. The staff are helpful and friendly, and great at offering advice if you need anything locally that isn’t available at the hotel.
The continental breakfast is no frills, but great. Cereal, fruit, bagels, yogurt, and a waffle maker. If you require something bigger, there’s enough local places for you to get your fill.
Oddly enough, when we stayed here there was a beer can convention staying in the hotel. Extremely nice and inviting folks, so even if you’re not into beer memorabilia, they are kind enough to invite you to check out there wares and have a pint on them.
Overall, I’d highly recommend staying here. Nice, clean, friendly, lots of local options for food or anything else you may need, and quick access to Worcester or the turnpike if you’re traveling further.

Do not book a room in this place because the staff is very rude. specially an employee named Jonathan that works in the front desk. everytime he looked at us, he always gave us a look like if he was better than us. we stayed here for like a month because of work. room service is really good just the people that work in the front office.

Well this place is really not that great. There might be rooms that are newly renovated but mine wasn’t one of them. The stink in the room 323 was nasty and not worth the outrageous price. I spend many nights on the road and I usually don’t review hotels but here I must speak up. In fact they should pay me for staying here, the place is filthy, even the elevator is disgusting. Sorry I will not be back.

Stood here for a night in June and it was undergoing renovations so it was a little unsightly in the lobby area but thats understandable being as theyre working to better their establishment. the woman at the reception desk was a gem, very nice and a good sense of humor. I was able to get a renovated room and it was exactly what i wanted. Clean, modern, quiet, and if youre like me you need great AC year-​round which they had! overall a great stay, booked through
and payed 106.13 for the night! breakfast in the morning was a plus and a solid selection of food ranging from cereals, boiled eggs, yogurts, a waffle maker, etc. I recommend this to anyone

Nonsmoking rooms still smell of smoke; if you hate the smoke choose instead a completely smokefree hotel. Rather shabby. Next time we will choose a smokefree hotel as there are plenty in this area. Shabby hotel and substandard breakfast. Choose another.

I came in late, real late — 1:30 A.M. After a coast to coast flight and escape from Boston. The hotel was like all the La Quintas I have used. Clean, Well maintained, and everything was handled well. The Graveyard desk clerk was so nice and helpful.
I put the do not disturb in the door got up late in the morning and went on my way. Everything I needed was there. the shampoo was very nice, the soap was creamy, the water in MA is so nice, and off down the highway, A happy camper is what I was. Looking at the other reviews, I guess that results will vary. It worked fine for me.
and the Net worked well too!

Beware, this motel has «Smoking allowed» on the 3^rd Floor. We checked in and had room 336. As soon as the elevator door opened to the floor, the stench of old cigars hit us. We thought it may have just been in the hallway but once we entered our room and saw the ashtrays, it was clear that this was a smoking allowed floor. During my reservation, this was never mentioned. I went to the lobby and complained. They said that all the rooms were booked. I informed them that due to my allergies, I’d have to leave. It was then that they switched rooms for us and we went to the 2^nd floor where we were met with the standard inexpensive motel room. Nothing fancy, nothing to complain about. That’s all I was looking for. Unfortunately for friends of ours who checked in later that evening and complained about the smelly rooms on the 3^rd floor, there was nowhere else to go and they had to suffer through the night with the windows open and all the fans on.

Nice staff. There are nicer hotels in Auburn. We were in for a funeral in september and had a few rooms. Bathrooms were a little dirty. Breakfast was ok

Pros:
–Beds were decent, and the TV was a nice Samsung flatscreen.
–Continental breakfast was decent, though nothing special here. A choice of muffins, toast, waffles, yogurt (nice!), cereals, typical stuff.
–Wifi here, but kind of slow. Better than nothing
Cons:
–Room was kind of small. Bathroom was very small, and had a strange mildew smell the moment we came in. Sink is outside of the bathroom, that’st nice for some I guess.
–No fitness center. That’s a problem when it is raining outside and your guests want some exercise.
–Paid around 120 for a night here, felt like it was not worth it.
I would have rated this a 3 star if it weren’t for that awful smell coming from the bathroom. Overall a decent stay, but if you could find somewhere else that is a little more clean– and I’m sure you can– for the same price, I would stay there.

We stayed here on two different occasions, both for work. All the other hotels in the area seem to be higher rates and the location was where we needed to be, so that made it worth it. The service was very good at the front desk. We checked in after midnight after we had been traveling for hours and were exhausted, the woman at the desk was very friendly and welcoming. We were hungry and she was so helpful as to give us the menu of a local pizza place that stays open into the late hours and delivers. There is a Japanese restaurant connected to the hotel, but we arrived after it was closed for both of our visits.
The breakfast is a major complaint. Out of all the la quinta’s I’ve been to, this one has the worst selection of breakfast, both my husband and I agreed. We overheard another man at breakfast saying the same thing. The coffee was terrible, the muffins tasted like chemicals, and the only eggs they had were boiled eggs, which no one seemed interested in.
We have stayed at MANY la quinta hotels so I’ve experienced the good and the bad. The rooms of this hotel were just okay. Some of the things in the hotel are older looking, and some things they have updated, so it’s kind of like a mix of old and new (Old refinished furniture but new flat screen tv and new bedding set).
It’s located right next to a police station which I like because it seems very safe and it didn’t add any extra noise outside or anything.
I do prefer the la quinta’s to be more modern and updated. This is a good price though and not as old looking as many of the older La Quinta’s are. The hotel was good enough for our visits, it «did the job». I would look into trying other hotels in the area though because I wasn’t overly impressed with this one, but for the price, I would stay again if there is no competition.

The La Quinta Inn acted as my home base during a trip to Worcester, MA for a couple nights of concerts at the DCU Center. Arriving here around the same time as several other concert-​goers, we waited in line to check-​in. Staff handled the crowd well and in no time we were headed up to check out our room for the coming days. This 3-​floor hotel, boasts 99 rooms (8 of which are suites), slow but free internet access, a computer for guest use in the lobby, complimentary breakfast, ice/​vending machines, and a pet-​friendly atmosphere.
Our room was an Executive King, complete with a king size Simmons Beautyrest pillow top mattress, mini fridge, microwave, flat screen TV with HD programming, air conditioning, desk, desk chair, and reclining chair. There was just enough room to spread out a roll away bed for our 3^rd guest. Although the king size bed was generous and comfortable, the roll away turned out to be the stark opposite, with coils and metal bars sticking every which way in a most unenjoyable fashion. All it all, it was decided the reclining chair and floor were of more comfort and utilized as such.
The room was decently clean, a couple of spots and stains found here and there. Housekeeping did well to keep us stocked with towels, etc. While the hotel itself was quiet, our room faced the busy highway across the way and with the window open (that only opened a couple inches anyway) the sound of tractor trailers and street noise invaded the room. Heavy curtains did well to block out the light during mornings of late rest. On the one morning I woke up early enough to grab breakfast for me and my friends in the lobby, I regretted that I ever made the trip down there. Stale, dry bagels, yogurt, cereal, coffee, and juice lined two small counters. A waffle maker (the only thing worth it) was in use and occupied by a long line of people looking to indulge in this item. Frustrated, I loaded a couple dry items onto a plate and made my way back to the room where I was met with looks of dismay at the poor spread.
All-​in-​all this hotel was «A-​OK» as my rating indicates. Located a $ 20 cab ride from the DCU center, this place was a viable option when hotels in downtown Worcester were booked full. I would stay here again if necessary. There are not a lot of bells and whistles involved but it does an adequate job of providing a decent place to rest.

We stayed here during an extended power outage in the Worcester area. The room’s were beautiful, well except the ceiling in ours wasn’t done yet, but if you ignore the ceiling, it was beautiful!
The selling point for this hotel was they took pets! That’s a big win for us, as bringing out pet was required. They do have free WiFi and free breakfast. The WiFi, of course, was pathetically inadequate. Slower than a 28.8 modem.
The breakfast was typical continental fair. Not Good, Not Bad. The OJ, as usually, tended towards the bad side.
The only above average item that I can recall at this hotel was the Television set in the unit. Flatscreen, that actually had HD service. Normally Hotels put HD’s in the rooms, but with standard service. This one actually had HD service.
For the money? I think it was an adequate deal. Not super good, not super bad.

The room I stayed in was shockingly attractive, with a granite-​looking counter on the sink and windowsill. I don’t know why granite goes on a windowsill, but whatever. The desk chair was comfortable and the bed was very inviting, with high quality linens. There was even a Samsung flat screen tv! I was super impressed at first.
Free wi-​fi was key to my decision to stay at La Quinta (as was budget, obviously) and it held up for the most part. When I lost my connection, I called the front desk, who told me to give it some time and she’d call tech support if it didn’t kick back in «soon.» Um, but I had work to do? I didn’t freak out, it was close to dinnertime, so I went out to a cute Italian place in Worcester and it was all better by the time I got back. So that’s not a huge deal I guess, but if I *really* had to do work desperately and that was the solution provided to me, I would have been pissed.
So everything was looking four stars when I hit the sack. Let me preface this with assuring you that I am a very heavy sleeper and live in the city of Boston. I am used to sleeping with city noise (sirens, traffic, drunk people hollering) and grew up with a loudly snoring father in the next room. I have been known to sleep through alarms and house-​shaking thunderstorms. But when a road crew started tearing up the road around 2am, it was as though they were working right in my room. It kept me up until about 5, but totally ruined any quality slumber I would have otherwise enjoyed. The sleep quality at a hotel is probably the most important thing next to cleanliness (the place was quite clean and fresh, no complaints at all there).
I wasn’t feeling the breakfast, since I had to run to an 8am meeting and was too tired to feel hunger. But the waffle iron was pretty neat, and the muffin I grabbed on the way out wasn’t half bad. The coffee was all bad, but who’s surprised?
If not for the roadwork, this place would have been swell. Next time I’ll definitely make sure there’s not any night work on 290.

Dirty hotel. After that, who cares?

I am just reassuring any of you that the previous person’s review is completely on point!
I stayed here for about 100 bucks total for 2 nights. I had an interview at MCPHS, and this place was definitely cheaper than all of the other hotels closer to the campus.
Service was excellent. The room service replaced my towels and everything as expected. When I had discovered that my iron was nonfunctional, I then told the receptionist, and she gladly replaced it with a brand new one! And the free breakfast is very convenient. Gave me extra money to spend on taxi fares!
Just some other FYIs:
–The Worcester commuter rail station (which you take to go into Boston) is about a 10 minute taxi ride from here (Use Red or Yellow Cab service)
–The MCPHS campus (in downtown) is about a 15 minute taxi ride from here
–The TV features free cable with your standard channels such as CNN, ESPN, ABC, etc.
–Papa Gino’s Pizzeria is right across the street
–Piccadilly’s Pub and Restaurant is about a 5 minute walk away
–Other fast food restaurants like a block away (Show your hotel key for a 10% discount)
Save money and stay here if you need to be in Worcester for any reason!

La Quinta you were easy, cheap, and uneventful.
For around 60 bucks you can get a room at La Quinta in Auburn, MA… You’ll be next to a highway, across from the Auburn Mall, and near a Staples, Toys ‘R Us, and those types of stores. There’s a grocery store and a few fast food options all right on the same street as well.
My king size bed was great, my room lacked anything visibly questionable, the bathroom was clean, and for a non-​smoking room it was relatively non-​smokey.
You can have small dogs here, but i didn’t hear, smell, or see any.
There’s a restaurant immediately next door and you can get to Starbucks though the parking lot.
There’s a free breakfast with high point being the make-​your-​own waffles and the low point being rock hard bagels and other uninspiring offerings. But for a 60 buck hotel, it seems fitting.
If you don’t need much besides a bed for the night, this place is perfect and cheap.
