Cascade Eye & Skin Centers, P.C. in Auburn, WA, is a large group of board certified physicians specializing in ophthalmology, laser vision correction (LASIK), and dermatology, and it is one of the most successful medical practices in the western United States.

In 1995, Cascade developed as a union of two leading practices in western Washington — Tacoma Eye Clinic and Eye & Skin Associates. The original Tacoma Eye Clinic had roots dating back to 1967.

Today Cascade employs over 30 eye and skin providers (physicians and physician assistants).

Business Owner

With over 8000 ocular surgeries (LASIK, PRK, cataract, and glaucoma), Keith F. Dahlhauser, M.D., F.A.C.S. has the experience; but it is more than just experience that counts.

He says, «The most experienced hair cutter is the barber at boot camp, but would you want him to give you a haircut before your wedding?»

Just as important as experience in surgery is attention to detail, modern equipment, concern for the patient, and monitoring of results. Therefore, all surgical patients are seen preoperatively and postoperatively by the same ophthalmologist/​surgeon at Cascade Eye & Skin Centers.

Prior to joining Cascade, Dr. Dahlhauser was a Lieutenant Colonel and chief of cataract surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center, where he spent 10 years teaching residents how to perform cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Dahlhauser received the «Teacher of the Year» award in six of those 10 years and gained experience dealing with unusual complications.

Don’t go to this clinic. We saw Dr Kim and both times the wait is always at least half an hour. They said she’s only here once a month and so she’s a little behind. I will never come back here

Horrible customer service
The lady checking me in forgot it out my chart back so I didn’t not get called after waiting 30 minutes to my appointment.
I work inn patient care also and this is absolutely unacceptable.
Don’t waste your time here
On the up side dr Kim is nice thorough dermatologist. I only come here to see her.

This place overcharges for everything. I came in for a basic eye exam and had to pay $ 175 out of pocket, which is way more expensive than any other place I have ever been, and they were unremarkable in their services. The were not helpful in working with my insurance issues, and have no financial aid unlike many other places.

There is nothing good about this place. Please do not waste your money or insurance benefits by coming here! First of all, every single time I come here (about 5 times recently) I wait for over 25 minutes to get in to my appointment. Every time I think to myself, ‘If they couldn’t get me in for a half an hour I would have left my home a half hour later!’ They are never on time. Second of all, I have struggled with acne for over a decade. I have been a client at cascade for going on two years and they still have not figured something out. They even tried to put me on a medication that I had previously taken! I personally asked my doctor to let me try a version of accutane. I told her I understood the risks of side effects and the difficulty involved with taking it but that I had struggled for so long now that I felt it was worth a try. She refused, which she does have the right to do but her reasoning was that I hadn’t tried enough things yet. Seriously? I had a list of over 30 medications and topical and creams and tools. I had even had in office facial ‘surgery’! I left and went to a different practitioner. 6 months later I have never had more beautiful skin!

I normally go to the Puyallup facility but went to Auburn due to the earliest appointment available. I WOULD think that the Cascade eye and Skin facility would try to step up their game. I WILL NEVER return to Auburn mainly from the abrupt, non friendly, curt front desk gal. No smile, nothing to welcome you, just a matter of fact, sign this, pay me that and pretty much go sit down… WILL NEVER AND DID I MENTION NEVER go to Auburn office again. Much nicer and less wait time in Puyallup. Yes waited 50… five o minutes!!! 10:40 appmt and already close to one hour behind…

I cannot believe the service I got today!!! I called because I have a spot on my face that really concerns me. I called and was told I could schedule an appointment about 5 weeks from now. I told them that this really concerns me that if this spot is something serious (major skin cancer in my family) waiting 5 weeks could be too long to wait to check this out. She was not empathetic at all. I will now have to go to my family physician instead of a skin specialist. It seems they are more concerned with cosmetic patients than people who are concerned there could be a serious problem. Very not happy!

I tried to order contacts online. They needed to verify my last prescription so I gave them the contact information for Cascade Eye Center. I received an email the next day saying my prescription was not valid. When I called Cascade Eye Center to ask why and she said that I would have to come in for another appointment because it was 6 months after my last appointment. Rip off!

Wow. Where do I start?
Horrible customer service, they over charge your insurance, and they ordered contacts and maxed out my benefits without my consent. Additionally, i am hereby voting this company «Worst Phone Tree on the Planet.» I don’t write negative reviews lightly but I had no choice in this case.
