I used to live close by and it was our regular Saturday morning big breakfast. I pass nearby on business a few times a year and have rearranged my schedule to make sure I can pick up a biscuit. Not anymore. Biscuits are still good, but they pre-make them and hold them in a hot box. The wornderful biscuits go soggy and you can no longer order your meat to order(I like my bacon just short of burnt). The bacon was soggy and my $ 2.19 biscuit contained about a slice and a half of limp, sad bacon. The gravy on the biscuit and gravy was mildly sweet. My last couple of experiences have been disappointing. It is sad that such a once great local spot has fallen so badly

What has happened! ??? This used to be one of the best places in North Georgia to get breakfast biscuits. We have gone there for breakfast several times a week for 20 years, but no more.(It’s now called Kenny ’ s Café.) I went this morning and got enough breakfast for four and was so disappointed. The tenderloin on the VERY cold biscuit was bloody rare and extremely skimpy. I had to get out a skillet and finish cooking the meat at home. The biscuit itself was beyond repair. The grits were cold, thin and full of lumps from pea size to Tablespoon size. The coffee station no longer has half & half, just some white powdery substance. I am brokenhearted that the new owners have let a 5 star breakfast biscuit café turn into a 1 star dump. By the way, the disgusting biscuit sandwiches were a whopping $ 3.49 each. Way overpriced for what you get. I recognized only one old time employee. …she’s great… I’ll miss saying hey to her. We USED to easily spend over a hundred bucks a month for breakfast, gas, ice, etc. Looks like one of their readily accessible competitors will be getting that.

I’ve never tried the lunch but the breakfast is on point. You can get one of their buttery brushed delicious fluffy biscuits with any of their country meats(Country ham, fried steak, bacon, sausage, hot link, fried chicken, pretty much anything you want. And you can get it tossed in gravy.) they have grits, eggs, you can make a plate they have toast they’ll make you a Texas toast bacon egg and cheese, it’s delicious. The best part, the same people have worked there forever. Its the kind of place where there are TONS on regulars. I go in maybe two times a week and they know my order immediately. They’ve recently started serving dinner to go with lunch. They have all kinds of things. I’m never in the area around those times. It gets busy and its obviously the go to place for quite a lot of people! I’m so happy to see it doing so well, the owners are so nice!

A) This is a gas station in Carl, GA right on the corner of Atlanta Highway and Carl Bethlehem Road. B) It is a BP with a small Café sign advertising hot meals and biscuits. C) It has biscuits that are home made each morning with southern lard and love. the biscuits are large and in charge. D) Cheap? You bet’cha! *Disclaimer, this is not a regular place to frequent, unless you wish to gain weight and increase cholesterol readings. And the BP sign? Well, that stands for Blood Pressure. lol Enjoy this little find on your way to Athens for a Dawgs game.
