10 Fitch is a luxurious bed & breakfast inn located in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country in Auburn NY providing a relaxing, romantic escape, exclusively for adults, since 2007. Winner of iLoveInns.com 2009 Traveler’s Choice for Romance Award. We offer many packages and add ons that make it quick and virtually effortless to plan a stress free, perfect, romantic escape. Options include private in room tandem massages, fondue for two, in-suite dinner picnics, chauffeured winery/sightseeing tour, private hot air balloon rides and much more. A 6 night, romantic 10 Fitch prize package has been offered three times on the popular TV game show Wheel Of Fortune.

History

Established in 2005.

This Colonial Revival mansion was built in 1920 for a wealthy Auburn business man. Up until September of 2004 10 Fitch was home to Patrick & Alice Buttarazzi. The Buttarazzi’s raised 14 children in the house, were the third owners and had lived in it for 35 years. Katherine Hess purchased the residence from them and spent a year renovating and turning it into a bed & breakfast. In September of 2007 Cheryl & Rodney Barber bought 10 Fitch and, along with Cheryl’s mom Sally, have been pampering their guests ever since.

Being an innkeeper is truly a joy for me. People who come to 10 Fitch are here for happy reasons, to re-connect, relax, rekindle the romance, and just spend special time together without the distractions of daily life intruding. It’s nice to be a part of something so positive, something that people remember and even want to come back and experience all over again. We love spoiling our guests here and I think they enjoy it too!

Today is the day we check out of 10 Fitch and it is a sad day indeed. I can’t say enough of how much I loved this place and for years to come, will cherish the memories here.
Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Susan as she gave us a tour of the grounds and the home– such a beautiful place! The décor is lovely and unique. It’s a very cozy place, but also quite stylish– this was right up my alley.
We stayed in the English Suite, and while I wasn’t able to see the other rooms– I can’t imagine a more perfect room. When entering you step into a magnificent bathroom– probably one of my most favorite bathrooms of all time (pictures attached).
Our bedroom was gorgeous– huge plush king size bed set right in front of the fireplace. Very romantic and warm for an Oct night.
We slept soundly and well every night– it’s so quiet and peaceful here. And in the morning woke to enjoy an incredible breakfast daily. Generous portions and absolutely delicious.
I honestly can’t find faults with this place. The staff were great, we especially loved Susan and Sally and really appreciated the personal attention. I only wish we could have stayed longer. But now I have something to look forward to when we return to the Finger Lakes, and will definitely be staying here again.

My husband and I recently stayed at 10 Fitch for four nights during our honeymoon. As soon as we arrived, Cheryl was warm and welcoming. Everything at the inn is very clean and organized. As soon as we checked in, we were given a detailed bill with the breakdown of all the charges. We stayed in the English Suite and it was amazing. It was very spacious and romantic. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace and private balcony. There was an organized binder in our room with information about the inn, several menus from local restaurants, and things to do in the area. Breakfasts at 10 Fitch are delicious and plentiful. Cheryl and her mom, Sally, cook amazing food. Sally’s homemade chocolate chip cookies (which are available ²⁴⁄₇) are great, too!
We were interested in getting a couples massage in our suite and Cheryl arranged everything for us. It was amazing and so relaxing not having to leave the comfort of our suite. We really enjoyed having turn down service (as this is something we have never gotten at other B&Bs we have stayed at in the past). We also loved the «Just Married» decorations all over our suite when we first arrived and the rose petals on our bed the last night. So romantic! Each room has a docking station with an ipod, which is full of spa & love music playlists. We also had our own mini fridge full of soda and water and our own box of snacks.
We very much enjoyed our four night stay at 10 Fitch and appreciate the generous military discount we were given. Cheryl and Sally are such gracious hosts and definitely know how to keep their guests happy. My husband and I are already talking about when we can return to 10 Fitch since we had such a wonderful time there. If you are looking for a very romantic, luxurious, and clean B&B with organized and generous innkeepers, then 10 Fitch is your place!

My husband took me here for our Babymoon, and it was perfect! I have talked about staying here for a couple of years now. The MacKenzie Childs décor was a added bonus for me because I love it! It was nice little touches too, not over done. He had booked the Gardenview suite. The room was very sweet, cutely decorated and very nice size. Larger than expected. The house is beautiful! We honestly can’t find anything that we didn’t enjoy about our stay. Both Cheryl and Sally are very sweet, welcoming, and make you feel comfortable. They always had smiles on their faces.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious both mornings! I love that they do «dessert» first before the main course. Such a great tasting touch. Being pregnant the food is very important, and I was greatly pleased. :)
Now I have to say the sheets are amazing! So soft and comfortable. I will be asking for a set under the tree this year.
Overall our stay was more than we expected. The house is very clean, quiet, and beautifully landscaped. We loved the little «gifts» on the bed at night too. These ladies definitely want to take care of their guest and make sure everyone is happy.
The only thing that we regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We can’t thank them enough and we will be visiting again!

Our stay this past January 30^th was an early Valentine’s Day celebration and while it was only one night, our only, and major regret was it wasn’t two or three nights. You have images in your mind of the perfect place to stay and rarely are they met and never exceeded. One can honestly say this was an «exceed». If your perfect is a contemporary boutique inn that is all the rage in some parts of the country, this isn’t for you. If you have had the pleasure of staying off the beaten path in UK or mainland Europe and it aligned with your idea of a perfect place to disappear to, then this is your Inn. Rustic, yet refined, warm and inviting come to mind. It was near zero outside and with wind chill below that, but you were totally unaware of it while there. We stayed in the Equestrian Suite which is really three rooms beautifully designed and furnished. After dinner in town at Moro’s Table (which is another review to write) the gas fireplace in our room was turned on, the bed was turned down, romantic music was playing on the ipod, and sparkling cider and chocolate dipped strawberries we had ordered awaited. Doesn’t get much better than this.
Breakfast in the morning was totally unique and fabulous — a standout memory for years to come. We will definitely return and stay longer and enjoy perhaps a different season. We can’t express enough satisfaction with the warm and inviting inn as well as the caretakers and associates.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at the inn over the winter.
We stayed in the Garden Suite– the smallest but beautifully adorned suite. The entire inn was nicely put together and cozy. The inn keepers were wonderful hosts and did not overlook any details. Breakfasts were three courses each morning and delicious and suprising — never a typical country breakfast.
Definitely worth the price but next time we would probably go back in the summer. There is not a lot to do in the area in the winter.
