Emmy’s Pampered Pooch

My sweet Bentley was chewing and licking a few spots for weeks. I bathed him myself but the problem continued. He is very timid and I never wanted anyone else to groom him, but I took him to Emmy’s. They let me stay with him, gave him a thorough bath and blow dry which he HATED, but it WORKED! He is comfortable and looks as beautiful as ever. The kind staff knew exactly what was needed (for both of us) and I will return there again.

Emmy the owner is wonderful to deal with, otherwise the staff and receptionists are rather rude. Refused to groom my 8 month old shih tzu because he is very timid. Staff should be trained to handle dogs of different temperaments. Would love to support this local business but have had problems two times in a row, will never return here.

Visited new location in Rochester Hills as a «walk-​in». It’s adorably decorated and impeccably clean. The gal that worked with us was personable and pleasant. My dog was treated very well. He looked and smelled terrific! Couldn’t ask for better service! Officially our new salon.

I took my 3month old puppy here for her very first hair cut, the staff was super friendly, very accommodating, they showed me around the store so I knew how everything was done and made me feel very comfortable leaving her there. She came back absolutely adorable, I’m extremely happy with Emmys I can’t wait to bring her here again

We brought our wire haired brussels griffon in for a grooming recently.
The groomer was really intensive on finding out exactly how we wanted him to look. She suggested some upgrades to our package but wasn’t pushy. We got the works, and my best friend looked great afterwards :-)
I’m glad we took the chance to try someone else because now we’ll be coming here in the future. Not that we didn’t like the old place but Emmy’s was a bit better and a few dollars less than our previous groomers.

Emmys pampered pooch is a great locally owened reasonabbly priced groomer. I take my large Golden Retriever there for a bath and trim and I’m extreamly satisfied with the work as well as the costumer service. They are fast and do quality work!

They did a great job on my Goldendoodle! Staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you, I’ll be back!

I have been coming to Emmy since she operated out of her home. She and her groomers are wonderful. I have recently started asking for Liz because she really seems to know my dogs breed well. I have never been unhappy with anything here! They are kind and gentle with my old girl and get me in and out quickly. Same day appointments are often available!

Emmy is awesome, upon my first visit she treated me like family. I was 9 months pregnant, she allowed me to come in the grooming area and keep an eye on my bichon as it was his first ever grooming experience. I usually do all of that for him, but in my condition I had to resolve to have Emmy’s army handle my sweet boy. They were gentle and cautious and Casper was receptive. He lept off the table after his ears were finished and ran over to me soo please with himself. It was spectacular to see him so happy. Well, 4 weeks later I was able to bring him back for his second experience plus my mom’s dog and my newborn for another appointment. This time, I didn’t stay but Emmy remembered how nervous I was the last time and made a point to wash and dry Casper and Rosie herself. The two did great and my newborn had a nice nap outside under the tree while we waited. Oh and an added bonus, Emmy charges and extremely reasonable rate!

Really really disappointed in their recent service. They used to operate out of the owners home and since they have moved to this location the service has been terrible. I think the extra overhead is making the owner and staff way over book the amount of dogs they are trying to crank through. There is no consistency of the grooming and the last two times my dog has been he has returned wounded by sheers scratching or cutting his skin… often near his… well «pink parts»…on his soft belly… the last right down the center of his nose where they ran the sheers down the crown of his muzzle. My dog has been sick sick sick since returning lasts week… must have picked something up as the dogs just wonder loose and much more exposure due to the overbooking and just cranking through them.
They also run a «grooming school» where it seems most of their staff are actually paying students rather than talented full time staff. Just so disappointed as they used to do such a fantastic job and the owners husband greeted you with a personal smile at most appointments… now your faced with a rather crabby and rushed «hostess» and the whole experience and quality of the service is just terrible. I will admit the cost was a motivator for initially using them… but now it is a matter of my dogs safety and health… I will pay double to get the service and handling I desire in a dog groomer… I am not a fanatic but my dog is a part of the family… and I just feel he deserves better than the service they are offering… really disappointed in the downward spiral in service… Emmy, if you want to keep your business… scale back down… maybe move back into your home if you need to… you used to give such good service… but your failure to maintain standards is going to cost you your customers… and without customers…
