I’m a professional photographer based in Oakland County, Michigan. The bulk of my business is horse and dog photography, but I love to do portrait work as well. I love doing animal + human portrait work. There’s just something about capturing the bond that people have with their animals in a photo that rocks my world.

My shooting style is candid and natural, done in a setting that makes my client comfortable. I don’t do studio work because I believe that the portraits that end up meaning the most to people are the ones they weren’t expecting to see.

I’m a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America), so you can be sure that when you hire me that you’re going to get my best work.

I began toying with the idea of becoming a photographer in January of 2007 after my sweet Golden Retriever, Coty, was diagnosed with lymphoma. I needed to find a way to celebrate my last months with him and to keep him in my memory forever and photos felt like the most natural way for me to do that. Coty passed away in March 2007, but today, when I look at those pictures, I can feel the way his fur felt on my face when I kissed him atop his head and smell his sweet dog scent after he had had a run in the snow. My job as a photographer is to bring moments like those, moments both extraordinary and regular, the moments that make up a life, to you, to cherish forever.
