Animal Edutainmentï, Inc. Home of Critterman is a private, not-​for-​profit, professional, wildlife education outreach organization, which develops and presents totally unique programs for youth. Our Safari Guides are in touch with their inner child allowing them to easily connect and engage an audience. Animal Edutainment Safari Guides employ a number of teaching and entertaining strategies to reach audiences of all ages and learning abilities.

We present our programs for Schools, Birthday Parties, Daycares, Day Schools, Preschools, Churches, Scouts, Libraries, City Events, Special Events, and more. Any animal lover will love Critterman!

History

Established in 1990.

Founded in 1990 by America’s Teaching Zoo graduates, David & Susan Kleven. Animal Edutainment’s (Home of Critterman) animal care facility is home to over 50 non-​releasable animals who were orphaned, injured, surplus, or cast-​off by previous owners. These animals now act as ambassadors for their species in our outreach programs. It is our belief that if an animal is capable of living in the wild that is where it belongs.

David K.

Business Owner

Dave has the remarkable ability to capture children’s attention and win their adoration. He began in high school when he worked as costume character Chuck E. Cheese. He quickly learned the magic of animated communication and unwavering patience.

Prior to enrolling as a student at America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College in 1988, Dave worked for thoroughbred race horse trainer Penny Lewis, and worked as a docent at Como Zoo in MN. While attending America’s Teaching Zoo, Dave gained valuable experience working at Los Angeles Zoo, Santa Barbara Zoo, Monkey Jungle, and Universal Studios in Hollywood.

Dave can be seen on various segments of The Most Extreme series on Discovery Network’s Animal Planet. He and several Animal Ambassadors have made numerous appearances at events on Discovery Network behalf. He has had the good fortune to work with Jack Hanna of Animal Adventures, Jeff Corwin of The Corwin Experience, Steve Irwin of The Crocodile Hunter, Jim Fowler of Wild Kingdom.
