Big 5 Sporting Goods

I normally only come here to check out if they have any good Discs on sale. They usually have a pretty good selection and they do go on sale regularly. This is a smaller store then some so they may not carry as many selection as some. Over all I really like this store and the employees always make sure you have help if you need it.

Usually (emphasis on usually) Big 5 stores have excellent customer service. This was not the case here. My wife came in looking for some running shoes and they didn’t have any in her size out on the floor. There was a salesman who was doing nothing else but pacing around the store aimlessly, occasionally asking other customers if they needed help. I made eye contact with him a few times as he wandered around and then finally (and impatiently), approached him to ask for help. Here’s the kicker — when we ask him if they have the shoes in her size, in the back, he says all they have is out on the floor. And that they don’t even carry her size… Then he suggests that she can buy a men’s shoe. ??? Well, that’s all good but I’ve bought shoes at Big 5 before and they DO carry shoes in the back, this smuck just doesn’t want to be bothered to go look. Oh, we’re sorry, we don’t want to interrupt you while you wear out the carpet. And after going to another Big 5, they DO carry her size. No wonder this place was practically empty.
