The Pooches Playhouse

Just a note as I got to know Karen the owner of Pooches Playhouse I thought she was just a little wired because of all the dogs she had on premise but after my dog got bitten so badly we had to emergency vet him and she calls me in a panic and the first words out of her mouth are we are not liable you signed the paper we had an incident where another dog did not just bite my dog he chewed up his thigh and they just met and she stated how they were playing so well like best friends and she said in a blink of an eye he not only put his tooth through my dogs thigh he chewed on the ankle and his upper thigh bone As of now all shaved with stapled and he’s on antibiotics for 13 days and painkillers and he can’t walk up down the stairs yet that being said it’s more of a moral standard issue you know me you know my dog but yet you chose not to help locate the owners and make sure that they do the descent thing and contact me about my dog… but yet 5 days later
Nothing…just a look on how society has changed. We used to do the right thing all the way around. End of day it is all about money and not about morals. Something to think about just because someone took their eye off the dog for a second I was told, doubt that. god sees all!

Wonderful service! Karen, Erin and all of the ladies take great care of the dogs. My dog plays all day and usually comes home exhausted. Excellent at following special instructions when you board your dog.

We checked with her and Pooches was Annie Lou Who’s favorite boarding /​doggie daycare of all time. In thirteen years, by far her favorite. Great staff, good company, the only place us humans will leave our Louster!!!

I don’t understand the one bad comment. We use this place when we travel away for a few days and they are GREAT! Very clean and very nice staff!

Really rude and unprofessional on the phone. I am vacationing in the area and wanted to board my 2 dogs for 2 weeks so that I could take them to the beach each day. We love our dogs :) and they are well socialized nice dogs. However, l didn’t even get a chance to say any of that before I was told they wouldn’t accept a pit bull /​lab mix. The lady actually hung up on me after I said that it was too bad they didn’t accept pit bull mixes because ours is sweet. What ignorance!!! It’s their loss. I’ll be sure to tell all the people I know in Jax and those staying at our hotel to spread the word about my experience with this business.

Georgie and Kona love Pooches and so do I. Great staff who treats all the pups as if they were their own.

Absolutely wonderful people to leave your dog with. The facility is very clean and the animals are well taken care of. When heading out of town this is the place to leave your pooch!

Pooches is the best! They offer doggy day care and overnight boarding. The staff is super friendly. The owner also works with Jacksonville ACPS and FOJA to foster animals in need. Great people and a great place for dogs!

Best doggy day care at the beach! Madison and Callie love it and are so tired when they get home! They love to see their buddies! Staff is very sweet and can truly see they care about the pooches! Highly recommend!
