Excellent lunch spot for a quick bite to eat. Was very surprised. Went on recommendations from other posts. Had great service and good grill food. Would def go back if in area.

My wife and I had breakfast there on Saturday. The waitress and staff were kind and cleaned a table for us by the window even though they were busy and other tables were available. The view was great looking out over the pier and water. My wife ordered eggs over light, grits, bacon and toast. I ordered the flapjacks with bacon. Her eggs were perfect as not many get the over light right. My flapjacks were very good, had a different texture that was coarse but oh so good almost like they had corn meal in them. I asked but the waitress said no so I don’t know what it was but they were great. The coffee was very good also as we like it stronger and they kept it coming for us and even fixed us up with to go cups. Overall very good breakfast and nice staff on the beach.

Clean and welcoming! AWESOME fish tacos that are more like tostadas than tacos. Very friendly service — I felt like a regular even though it was my first time. The salsa is bangin! Tomatoes, pineapple, and jalapeños…simplistic and delicious. A perfect lunch stop in Atlantic Beach.

Stopped here for breakfast after a morning at Fort Macon and it was awesome. The staff here were so nice and super friendly. It’s a cute little local joint on the pier with a great view of Atlantic Beach. The breakfast menu had all the necessary staples and were cooked perfectly. The grits here are some of the best I’ve ever had and the pancakes were just right. The food was definitely worth it, but I’d come back just for the service — hard to find genuinely nice staff like these folks.

Wonderful, old-school, old-fashion restaurant. We went for breakfast. The food was incredible. Mom had eggs and grits. The grits were the best she’d ever had. I had French toast with sausage. They bring you powdered sugar and cinnamon to put on this. WONDERFUL! Coffee was very hot and plentiful and the orange juice delicious. Service couldn’t be any better and the view was over the beach and even on a cloudy day it was great.

Most of the reviews are about breakfast but WOW the lunch and dinner items are just fantastic. My friend had the chef’s special which was blackened wahu on a bed of black beans and rice with pineapple salsa and a skewer of grilled scallops. It was fantastic! My shrimp basket was everything a shrimp basket should be! Local shrimp lightly battered and fried!

The place is unpretentious and locally run. I would have never thought of coming to a pier to eat breakfast! It was a good choice as the the menu choices were simple yet sufficient. Most of us got eggs and bacon while my wife opted for the hot cakes. All was delicious!

I recently returned to the hotel/pier after not having been in the area for about ten years. One of the things that brought me back was the pier and the wonderful«greasy spoon» diner that sits upon it. The restaurant is a quaint, charming, soul food sort of place that doesn’t necessarily win you over with its décor, but it wins you over with great food and a simple ambiance that allows you to waft in the smell of a great country breakfast while looking at the beautiful views of the beach, pier, and ocean. The coffee is REALLY good. I got the«#1 Breakfast» two mornings of the three that I was there. It’s bacon or sausage with grits, toast, and 2 eggs any style, for about $ 6. The breakfast servers are friendly and attentive and possess that sweet Southern charm you’d expect for this region. I got a burger one day for lunch, and it was tasty and fresh. The servers at lunch are not quite as attentive and friendly as the AM bunch, but maybe I caught them on an off day. It was obvious that locals frequent the place too, which is a good sign. I saw local law enforcement officers there that were apparantly«regulars.» The«tackle» shop isn’t the most diverse, but you can get the basics there(plus good advice). They also have a generous selection of Gotcha Lures, which is a necessity for catching fish here I’ve learned. I’ve never had much luck with bottom fishing here, but the blues were running on this trip, and there were some fun and exciting moments with that. The pier itself has a couple of nice cleaning stations, a gazebo at the end. benches with backs. They were pressure-washing sections of it and working on the lighting and wiring while I was there, so I know they keep it up pretty well. The pier is a bit uneven and there are a lot of old boards, so wear closed toe shoes and pick up your feet when you walk. Lots of tripping hazards. It’s free to fish here offseason for hotel guests. And I’d reccommend staying at the Oceanana Hotel just for the convienince. It’s not the Ritz-Carlton, but you’ll be satisfied.

A hidden gem. .. . pier admission is at no charge, great for the kids and grand kids, and the fare is excellent and the service is attentive, friendly and expeditious. .. . went there twice this week, burgers, fries, but the tuna melt, fish & chips, and shrimp tacos are top notch at a non-inflated price. .. could present the flounder in any top notch establishment and you may think it superb because of the atmosphere, however, the flounder(fish & chips(fries)) here is plentiful and tasty, and superb absent the fancy atmosphere — wonderful food, ice cream bars, candies, AC and an Ocean view !!

Fish tacos, cheeseburgers all the way and sweet tea!!! They also make a mean mango shrimp taco! I really love this place for a quick, easy and cheap dinner or lunch! The ladies that work in the morning for the breakfast shift are a hoot and really keep the ball rolling for breakfast.
