Wsb Radio B98.5 Fm

Sorry to say but I don’t listen to the morning show cause Jeff and malissa have that crazy flirting with disaster, it’s not funny. Some day there gonna be the cause of a problem… So I turn to country 98.9 in the morning.

They really need to get a different person on the radio other than Kara Lee. Her voice really grates me. I turn the channel every time I hear her.
The morning show, to me, is embarrassing. Their skit that they do every morning where they catch a husband flirting with the radio host, Melissa Carter, is too much for me to handle. I feel embarrassed for the husbands getting caught. Can’t the wives resolve this situation other than in such a public forum?

Y’know, normally I’d start off a review like this something along the lines of «It’s with great shame that I write this,» but screw that. I’m PROUD that I listen to B98.5! I’m old too! Get off my lawn!
Some might accuse me of some sort of GenX-​style irony because I indeed am Gen X and am of the last generation to use encyclopedias for school and I complain that the word «alternative» has lost all meaning. So, yes, my love of B98.5 could be construed by some as «ironic,» but consider the following scene from college:
My roommate, Mr. Doc Martens-​wearing industrial club DJ had just started subscribing to this new-​fangled thing called «Cable Radio.» He was showing me how it worked:
«So anyway, it’s got like 100 different channels and NO commercials!»
«Cool.»
He clicks through. «Here’s the rock station! The alternative station! The lite rock! The metal!»
«Wait a second. Go back one.»
«What is that? Air Supply?»
«Yeah, keep it there a second.»
(Three hours and several beers later.)
«Yeah, this lite rock station rules.»
«Damn right.»
Yes, I listen to Air Supply. I listen to Neil Diamond. And, for the record, Barry Manilow writes the songs that makes the WHOLE world sing, not just one part – the WHOLE DAMN WORLD. Suck on that, Justin Timbaland or Tone Loc or whoever else the kids are listening to these days.
If I have one complaint about B98.5, it’s that they get a little too modern in their choices. I don’t want to listen to Matchbox20 or hear «Your Body’s a Wonderland» for the umpteenth time (though thank you, John Mayer, I HAVE been working out.) I want crappy, 70s love songs, the kind I used to listen to when I was a kid, but didn’t quite realize what they were talking about at the time. Back when I thought «Afternoon Delight» was about taking a nap. Fortunately, it seems on the weekends, B98.5 plays a lot of disco, so they’ve got that going for them.
I even listen to Delilah (Or «Vagina» as I call her) when I’m driving around after dark. It’s sappy and cheesy and for the past few years, she’s slowly been going insane. She alternates from providing the most saccharine sweet advice to stopping just short of telling her callers they’re utter morons. You can hear the tension in her voice. It makes the transition to Melissa Manchester’s «Through the Eyes of Love (The Theme to Ice Castles)» that much more grand.
Four damn stars to the most irony-​free radio station in Atlanta, B98.5. You’ll get a fifth star once I start hearing more Manilow.
